Vehicle platooning has attracted growing attention for its potential to enhance traffic capacity and road safety. This paper proposes an innovative distributed Stochastic Model Predictive Control (SMPC) for a vehicle platoon system to enhance the robustness and safety of the vehicles in uncertain traffic environments. In particular, considering the similarity between the acceleration or deceleration behaviour of neighbouring vehicles and the spring-scale properties, we use a two-mass spring system for the first time to construct an uncertain dynamic model of a formation system. In the presence of uncertain perturbations with known distributional attributes (expectation, variance), we propose an objective function in the form of expectation along with probabilistic chance constraints. Subsequently, a state feedback control mechanism is devised accordingly. Under the cumulative probability distribution function of stochastic perturbations, we theoretically derive a computationally tractable equivalent of the SMPC model. Finally, simulation experiments are designed to validate the control performance of the SMPC platoon controllers, along with an analysis of the stability performance under varying probabilities. The experimental findings demonstrate that the model can be efficiently solved in real-time with appropriately chosen prediction horizon lengths, ensuring robust and safe longitudinal vehicle formation control. Due to The lack of comparison studies and practical applications of RNN, LSTM, and hybrid RNN-LSTM models for intrusion detection systems, especially when managing class imbalances in complex network datasets, represents a gap in the literature. This study investigates the application of deep learning techniques to improve the detection capabilities of IDS. For this study, we applied and assessed Recurrent Neural Network, Long Short-Term Memory, and Hybrid RNN-LSTM models on a UNSW-NB15 dataset, and to redress class imbalance we trained and validated our models using synthetic minority over-sampling. The RNN-LSTM model was shown to perform the best with a 9 4. 0 0 % accuracy in comparison to other models. These experimental results signify the possibility of enhancing IDS performance and a dependable method of detecting various network intrusions with the use of hybrid models comprised of RNN & LSTM. © 2025 IEEE.

Imperfections in requirement specification can cause serious issues during software development life cycle. It might bring about inferior quality products due to missing attributes, for example, security. Specifically, Web Applications are considered as obvious target for getting significant information. Security aspects have gotten hard to manage in web applications because security requirements are not regularly seen appropriately and often details are missing which lead into ill-characterized security-related aspects. With the help of systemic literature review (SLR), we have identified 32 major research works which were published in period of year 2010 to 2020. We identified 38 security-related aspects of web applications and also 13 techniques and tools for security related aspects in agile requirement specification. We have also analyzed 22 challenges in reviewing security related aspects in agile development life cycle. © 2023 IEEE.

The challenge of minimizing mission response times and the energy consumption of computationally-constrained IoT devices, is becoming increasingly important in Industry 4.0 environments, where mission-critical tasks require real-time and latency-sensitive processing. In this context, the computational offloading paradigm becomes an attractive alternative for utilising remote, computationally capable resources placed at the network Edge, to execute demanding applications. In this paper, an analysis of the main options for task execution (ondevice, Edge and Cloud) is performed, under different sensing and actuation scenarios. These results outline the need of an intelligent decision making mechanism to dynamically alternate between the available execution environments, as a response to the varying networking conditions. © 2022 IEEE.

Machine-to-machine (M2M) communication plays a fundamental role in autonomous IoT (Internet of Things)-based infrastructure, a vital part of the fourth industrial revolution. Machine-type communication devices(MTCDs) regularly share extensive data without human intervention while making all types of decisions. Thesedecisions may involve controlling sensitive ventilation systems maintaining uniform temperature, live heartbeatmonitoring, and several different alert systems. Many of these devices simultaneously share data to form anautomated system. The data shared between machine-type communication devices (MTCDs) is prone to risk dueto limited computational power, internal memory, and energy capacity. Therefore, securing the data and devicesbecomes challenging due to factors such as dynamic operational environments, remoteness, harsh conditions,and areas where human physical access is difficult. One of the crucial parts of securing MTCDs and data isauthentication, where each devicemust be verified before data transmission. SeveralM2Mauthentication schemeshave been proposed in the literature, however, the literature lacks a comprehensive overview of current M2Mauthentication techniques and the challenges associated with them. To utilize a suitable authentication schemefor specific scenarios, it is important to understand the challenges associated with it. Therefore, this article fillsthis gap by reviewing the state-of-the-art research on authentication schemes in MTCDs specifically concerningapplication categories, security provisions, and performance efficiency.

History of code elements is essential for software maintenance tasks. However, code refactoring is one of the main causes that makes obtaining a consistent view on code evolution difficult as renaming or moving source code elements break such history. To this end, this paper presents RAT, a refactoring-aware tool for keeping track of code elements evolution across time, not just in terms of revisions but also in terms of refactoring. This is the first tool that enables fine-grained code element traceability of the whole repository. Empirical evaluation of leveraging our tool in three bug localization techniques relying on code history shows significant improvement in localization accuracy. This study proposes a comprehensive method to reduce the problems posed by global air pollution. To measure pollution levels and raise public awareness, the research uses a comprehensive strategy that incorporates image processing, time series analysis, chatbot, and facemask recognition. Time series analysis is used to build prediction models by recognizing historical patterns, and image processing techniques are used to examine cloud pictures for precise pollution predictions. Chatbots provide real time communication and may educate the public on environmental facts, health risks, and safety procedures. Additionally, it has a facemask identification system that monitors and promotes the use of masks. Importantly this not only encourages users to take action to reduce pollution but also utilizes predictive models to help mitigate pollution's consequences. These components result in improved public health, environmental conservation, and sustainability. The outcomes reflect significant advantages, with evidence of accuracy and its positive impact on both awareness and proactive measures to combat air pollution. © 2023 IEEE.

The following article looked into legged wheels with spring suspension. The idea behind the work was to see how adding springs in various places and their stiffness would impact the robot's ability to navigate through stairs. Due to the unconventional appearance of legged wheels, they are not suitable for even terrain passage. Hence, the idea was to add springs to minimize shock occurrence each time a leg touches the even environment. It was also important to equip springs throughout the whole path. As the robot progresses through steps, a greater disturbance of the structure occurs. Two different ideas were tested. In the first scenario, springs were attached between the holder of the wheels and the main body. In the second scenario, springs were directly added to the legs. The extruded part of the leg was divided into two, and a spring was embedded between these two parts. Different values of spring stiffness were also examined. The results illustrated that the structure would go further by implementing springs in all four wheels or in the rear. However, the structure was tested only on an upward incline. With other setups, it might be different with the rearrangement of the springs. It was also noted that with higher stiffness of the springs, the structure became unstable. In the second scenario, results illustrated the slightest progress. For instance, when the front wheels' legs were modified, they showed better results. To understand the influence in more depth, further investigation of the problem must be conducted. © 2025 IEEE.

In this work, we investigate the use of Egyptian fractions to construct wideband signals with a near-flat power spectrum. In particular, it is well-known that wideband signals can be obtained using composite multisine signals. However, the choice of the frequencies and/or phase shifts in these sinusoids is critical to approach a flat power spectrum with a low crest factor. A number of known methods, such as using Rudin-Shapiro polynomials or random phases, have been used in this problem. However, the use of Egyptian fractions has not been explored yet, despite being easier to generate and implement. Here, we construct multisine signals (in the form of a voltage) based on different Egyptian fraction sequences (EFSs) and use them to measure the linear time-invariant impedance of an RC circuit and then the instantaneous impedance of nonlinear time-varying solar cell. Two methods are used to generate these signals: 1) the EFSs are assigned to the phase angles or 2) they are used to set the values of the angular frequencies. The accuracy of measurements is assessed via comparison to the standard sine-sweep method using a research-grade Biologic VSP-300 electrochemical station showing acceptable results. © 2001-2012 IEEE.
