Agriculture is a foundational element of global food security and economic stability, yet it faces the perennial challenge of crop diseases, which can significantly impact yield and quality. Traditional disease detection methods, reliant on manual inspection, are labor-intensive and can lack precision. Addressing this, we propose a hybrid model that combines the strengths of Convolutional Neural networks (CNNs) and machine learning classifiers for the automated detection of diseases in cucumber plants. Specifically, we employ the VGG16 network, renowned for its feature extraction capabilities, coupled with Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), Decision Trees (DT), and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) classifiers. Our model is trained on a dataset consisting of high-resolution cucumber images, with 80% used for training and 20% for validation. Performance metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score are utilized for evaluation, with a particular emphasis on the F1-score for its balance between precision and recall. The SVM classifier emerges as the most effective, followed by RF, KNN, and DT. The results, analyzed through confusion matrices, validate the SVM's superior performance in accurately classifying the health status of cucumber plants. This study not only enhances disease detection accuracy but also suggests a direction for future agricultural practices, highlighting the potential integration of such models into real-time crop management systems. © 2024 IEEE.

The introduction of of web services has led to web service composition being a focus of many researchers. Composing web services using workflows is seen as the most realistic method from an industrial view-point. Amongst other method, the use of natural computing methods has been proposed previously to automate web service composition. The need for a fast response when computing the most suitable sequence of services is addressed in this paper. In particular, we propose a novel heuristic immune algorithm with an efficient encoding and mutation method. The algorithm involves two steps: an immune selection operation, which is maintaining antibody population diversity and the clonal selection. The use of a vaccine during the evolution provides heuristic information that accelerates the convergence. Our experimental results illustrate that the proposed heuristic immune algorithm is very effective in improving the convergence speed. We also provide a schema analysis for this method.

Blockchain is one of the most revolutionary technologies in the past decade due to its decentralisation, data integrity, reliability, and security. Blockchain technology is the next popular topic, and it has the potential to significantly alter the educational environment in many ways. Blockchain technology must be used in the education sector despite its challenges. Education is one of the sectors where blockchain-based solutions are still in use. Many academics possess extensive knowledge of the societal benefits blockchain technology might bring. The vast potential of blockchain can only be realised if education expands its knowledge of the technology. The primary goal of this research is to identify current problems related to educational institutions and identify blockchain features that could assist in addressing them. This research article will provide an overview of existing activities and address several perspectives on how blockchain can revolutionize the education sector. In prolongation, this article investigates the categories of blockchain technology applications, especially in the field of education. An in-depth discussion on the benefits and impact that blockchain brings to education is explored. Further, deliberate the abundant challenges of adopting blockchain in education. This study will direct the organizations/institutions to decide which blockchain application will benefit the most based on their requisites. The analysis will also provide information about other educational fields that may benefit from blockchain technology.

The role of learning media greatly supports the learning process, increasing motivation and interest in the process. Learning media can also be a place to improve competence optimally through bootcamp training menus and the like with more specific training objectives. The main objective of this study is to develop a gamification-based website to enhance students' preparedness for their Final Competency Test by tackling challenges in comprehending programming absent practical experience. The learning method implemented in this website is case-based learning that integrates dynamic coding activities. The research method uses the Plomp approach with 3 main stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment stage. The trial of the gamification website began with media and content validation followed by small group testing and large group testing. Validation by media and material experts led to the execution of small group trials (95.7%) and large group trials (91.7%), producing exceptionally positive outcomes. The results of the small group test with 12 respondents produced a very suitable value with a score of 95.7 and the large group test with 27 respondents produced a score of 9 1. 7 % with very suitable criteria. This indicates that the web-based platform is highly viable for assisting vocational students in acquiring software development skills, enhancing their preparedness for practical IT positions such as software developers and system analysts. Subsequent study involved the incorporation of gamification, such as computer-supported collaborative learning. © 2024 IEEE.

DNS over HTTPS (DoH) Tunneling is a technique used to encapsulate the information or programs of other protocols into the DNS protocol with the encrypted form for communication. On the strength of DNS as the core component in internet communication, DoH straightens data privacy with less restriction and qualification of tunneling techniques, the attackers take advantage of exploring DoH Tunneling traffic to initial and deploy their activities, such as command and control communication and data exfiltration. Keeping their assets safe is becoming a critical issue for every organization. Based on our knowledge and investigation, currently, there are only flow-level feature analysis solutions that have been made, and they don't have any methods using single packet information to detect the DoH Tunneling traffic. it can't be used passive data analysis methods such as the active detection system's flow-level detection system. Therefore, in this paper, the first packet-level feature analysis solution to detect DoH Tunneling traffic by using only five selected features from the packet and a study of the number of packets inside flow learning for this traffic detection is proposed. As a result, Random Forest can perform well, with a high accuracy of up to 99.93% among other algorithms.

Breast cancer (BC) has been one of the significant causes of death worldwide, and its early detection can play a vital role in increasing the survival rate of this disease. This paper suggests a novel feature learning method for BC diagnosis using the artificial neural network (ANN) by optimizing the hidden layers. It uses a systematic hyper-parameter search method to optimize number of hidden layers, neurons in the hidden layers, activation functions, learning rate, batch size, and training epochs of the ANN. The number of hidden layers and the number of neurons in the hidden layer are investigated using t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE) technique to specify the best hyper-parameters that achieved the highest testing accuracy while avoiding model overfitting. Comparative analysis showed that the proposed method achieved higher performance than the ANN-based models that utilizes particle swarm optimization (PSO), multi-verse optimizer (MVO), BAT algorithm, and firefly algorithm (FFA) as feature selection (FS) methods, with the best classification accuracy of 0.9948, sensitivity of 0.9815, and specificity of 0.9882 for 10 iterations of holdout cross-validation. The performance of the proposed method is also comparable with several earlier reported state-of-the-art models in the literature. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The article is dedicated to advancing technologies in chaotic optical communication and investigating chaotic laser generation in measurement systems and instruments. It conducts an analysis of the informational potential of chaotic signals in the optical range and explores the feasibility of implementing chaotic dynamics in lasers. It is demonstrated that among the current challenges are precision and stable generation of chaotic laser modes, as well as precision and stable synchronization of chaotic laser generators. The definition of chaotic modes is proposed as a set of characteristic types of chaotic oscillations that are stable, distinguishable, and reproducible within an oscillatory system, along with a method for estimating the number of modes and their designation. A method for modulating pump energy using a Chua generator is suggested. Additionally, a model for precision control of chaotic laser generation is proposed, allowing for the generation of chaotic laser modes with the ability to measure and control laser emission parameters and chaotic dynamics based on monitoring small changes in control parameters and influencing factors. © 2024 SPIE.

Memristors have proven since their discovery to play a very important role as artificial synapses in the implementation of artificial neural networks. Just as biological synapses, memristors can significantly influence the behaviors of the neural network. A non-polynomial memristor is used in this work to investigate the memristive synaptic weight effect on the dynamics of a simplified Rulkov neuron. The model is first introduced from where theoretical analyses show the system’s ability to develop regular and irregular behaviors. Analysis methods such as two parameter charts, bifurcation diagrams and maximum Lyapunov exponents (MLE) are then used to study the dynamics of the proposed Rulkov model. The numerical results show that the memristive synaptic weight Rulkov neuron model can exhibit self-excited and hidden firings. Furthermore, the system can undergo interesting offset boosting dynamics and antimonotonicity features (i.e., bubble bifurcations) for some system parameters. To corroborate the computational findings, the proposed model is implemented on an Arduino Due microcontroller board, from where the experimental results are seen to be in agreement with the obtained numerical results.

Steganography involves concealing secret information in an appropriate multimedia carrier, such as text, image, audio, and video files, in such a way that only the sender and receiver suspect the existence of the secret information. Images are the most popular multimedia carriers. Adaptive image steganography is a promising new trend in the steganographic field. It basically means that the embedding locations are altered adaptively depending on the image content. The primary objective of this paper is to investigate and discuss various approaches to adaptive image steganography. The approaches can be broadly categorized as CNN-based, end_to_end GAN-based, and minimizing additive distortion function-based, both huristically and automatically designed. In addition to discussing the four categorized approaches, this paper provides an overview of image steganography including its characteristics or properties, and evaluation metrics. A summary table of all the details is also provided for convenience. The exploration into the evolution of architectural structures in 6G edge computing nodes through time-series-based dynamic interactions offers a compelling investigation within complex systems. In the realm of 6G edge computing, where nodes play a pivotal role, existing approaches primar-ily emphasize the locality of nodes or clustering relationships between networks. Traditional time-series network modeling tends to fixate on local static relationships, overlooking the dynamic interactions between real network nodes. To address this limitation, we present a model based on time-series interactions, specifically crafted for 6G edge computing networks. Our model extends beyond traditional boundaries, facilitating a comparative analysis of network formation across diverse datasets, presenting a valuable methodology for conducting evolutionary studies. The model's validity is demonstrated through evaluations on two real network datasets. Notably, within the 6G edge, a discernible structure emerges when the preference for high-level nodes surpasses a critical threshold.
