Fairness concern behavior, a well-known cognitive bias, refers to a person’s attitude of dissatisfaction for unequal pay-offs in someone’s favor. Against environmental pollution, many firms are focused on green manufacturing to maintain sustainable development. The adoption of online shopping by customers around the globe has altered the dynamics of competitiveness in the retail supply chain (SC). Considering the above facts, the effect of fairness concern on optimal prices and channel members’ profits in a two-level dual channel SC is investigated. Here, we consider an SC comprising a green manufacturer and a fair-minded retailer where the manufacturer produces and sells the green product through both offline and online channels to consumers. Due to uncertainty in the real world, the fuzziness is associated with market demand, price elasticity, and the coefficient of greenness. The fuzzy objectives and constraints are reduced to crisp ones using expectation and possibility measures, respectively. Both centralized and decentralized models (with and without cognitive bias) are formulated and solved by the Stackelberg game for the optimal prices and product greenness level. The models’ optimal solutions are analyzed and compared with the deterministic models numerically. The effects of the fairness concern coefficient on the optimal prices, product greenness level, and channel members’ profits are investigated. The sensitivity analyses are presented to study the effects of the fuzzy degree of customers’ sensitivity toward greenness on channel members’ profits. Retailer’s fairness is harmful to the manufacturer but beneficial for her own profit. An EOQ Model with Breakable Items Considering Stock Dependent Demand and Lead Time Dependent Credit Period

In this paper, an EOQ model for breakable items to a retailer has been studied. Here, demand of the business is stock dependent. The breakability of the items is dependent on stock and holding cost. Here, a credit period has been offered to the retailer, which depends on lead time. Stock dependent demand and breakability are balanced by the lead time dependent credit period. The main intention of the present model is to detect the optimal order quantity, optimal lead time and to maximize the total profit of the whole business. To remanufacture automobile systems, it is important to understand the future failure rate of the serially produced systems. In addition, remanufacturing departments need the information about the number of cores to remanufacture, the condition of these cores, as well as the number of replacement systems the market needs. Based on the existing univariate, bivariate and multivariate models a new improved forecasting model is developed, which considers practical factors like export of the vehicle to other countries, damage of the entire vehicle, reporting delay between production and in-market time or between vehicle failure and failure reporting time. This paper presents all necessary tools to achieve the improvement and its implementation in MATLAB. Copyright © 2019 European Safety and Reliability Association.

Nowadays the information of future rates of systems produced in series appears to be crucial to the production plan, especially for remanufacturing departments. Several questions need to be answered: the number of cores to remanufacture the condition of those cores as well as the number of replacement system the market requires. Based on a bivariate prognosis model, a multivariate model is developed to take more variables of stress in field into account. What's more, the fitting process has been optimized by using neural networks. This paper presents all necessary tools to perform a multivariate lifetime prognosis as well as the implementation in MATLAB. © 2019 European Safety and Reliability Association. This paper presents a method to construct more general fuzzy complex numbers and sets from ordinary fuzzy complex numbers by introduced the ordered sequences of membership functions. It is concluded that multi fuzzy complex set is an extension of Buckley fuzzy complex set. Also, two types of multi-fuzzy complex numbers based on the forms z = x +iy and z = reiθ are investigated. This paper aims to develop a sensor based monitoring and analyzing system for Neuro-Degenerative Disorder patients (NDD);this may consist on SpO2 sensor, Electrophysiological sensors, NIBP, Motion Capture sensors and Eye Monitoring sensor, taking into consideration an acceptable cost for the whole system. Recorded data will be sent to an embedded decision making unit where detection, analysis, classification, prediction and action control will occur. The sensors and the decision making unit will be implemented in a comfortable jacket that doesn't affect the patients' movements and that can be used by several patients with reduced sensor placement alterations. The decision that can be made is creating a stimulus to avoid falling in case of sudden stop while moving, initiating an alarm, sending a notification to a mobile phone application, and/or telemedicine monitoring features. Artificial Neural Networks will be used to classify and predict the abnormal cases where action should be taken, and since the sensors will be continuously recording, it is possible to achieve continuous learning for the ANN as a first phase. Initial models will be defined by testing normal behaviors and some known abnormal behaviors or symptoms related to the electrical activity and other characteristics of the heart, oxygen saturation level, eye activity and body motion. © 2016 IEEE.

Scheduling Algorithm to Select Optimal Programme Slots in Television Channels: A Graph Theoretic Approach

In this paper, it is shown that all programmes of all television channels can be modelled as an interval graph. The programme slots are taken as the vertices of the graph and if the time duration of two programme slots have non-empty intersection, the corresponding vertices are considered to be connected by an edge. The number of viewers of a programme is taken as the weight of the vertex. A set of programmes that are mutually exclusive in respect of time scheduling is called a session. We assume that a company sets the objective of selecting the popular programmes in k parallel sessions among different channels so as to make its commercial advertisement reach the maximum number of viewers, that is, a company selects k suitable programme slots simultaneously for advertisement. The aim of the paper is, therefore, to help the companies to select the programme slots, which are mutually exclusive with respect to the time schedule of telecasting time, in such a way that the total number of viewers of the selected programme in k parallel slots rises to the optimum level. It is shown that the solution of this problem is obtained by solving the maximum weight k-colouring problem on an interval graph. An algorithm is designed to solve this just-in-time optimization problem using O(kMn ² ) time, where n and M represent the total number of programmes of all channels and the upper bound of the viewers of all programmes of all channels respectively. The problem considered in this paper is a daily life problem which is modeled by k-colouring problem on interval graph. © 2016, Springer India Pvt. Ltd.

This article discusses the use of fuzzy logic and a neural network to predict the demand for pharmaceutical products in a distributed network, in conditions of insufficient information, a large assortment and the influence of risk factors. A comprehensive approach to solving forecasting problems is proposed using: the theory of fuzzy logic - when forecasting emerging and unmet needs and a neural network - if there is a lot of retrospective information about the actual sale of drugs and drugs. Using this approach to solve the problems of forecasting demand allows you to get statistics and experience. In this present work, a new similarity measure of Gaussian fuzzy numbers has been proposed. The proposed method is based on the exponent distance about mean, standard deviation and height of the Gaussian fuzzy numbers. The similarity has been measured in two different forms of Gaussian fuzzy numbers. Some properties corresponding to the proposed new method of similarity measure have been discussed. Also, the proposed method has been demonstrated with some examples of Gaussian fuzzy numbers. Finally, the proposed similarity measure has been applied in a job selection procedure considering the linguistic values of the Gaussian fuzzy numbers. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature India Private Limited.
