A novel reduction method for type-2 uncertain normal critical values and its applications on 4D profit transportation problem involving damageable and substitute items

In this paper, we developed and investigated some four-dimensional profit maximization transportation problems considering damageablity and substitutability, where the parameters are of a type-2 normal uncertain variable in nature. Here, unit transportation cost, distances of the paths, fixed charges, rate of breakability, availability, demands, capacities of conveyances, the unit selling price, unit purchasing cost, unit procurement cost are regarded as type-2 normal uncertain variables. Two models are formulated based on two separate criteria of the substitution items. We use a critical value-based reduction method to reduce type-2 normal uncertain variables into type-1 normal uncertain variables and then apply some properties of uncertainty theory to convert the profit transportation parameters into deterministic form. The two deterministic models are solved using the optimization software named LINGO -18.0. A real-life numerical example and optimal results are presented here to show the application of the proposed model and the proposed reduction method. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature India Private Limited.

Machine learning technique is full-fledged as a boosting sector to develop modeling and forecasting of complex time series observations in the present environment. This study made an attempt to inspect the future performance of rainfall data and vapor in Chelyabinsk by using a machine learning technique. The data series is divided into a training set (60%) and a test set (40%) for model developing a validation purpose. We further developed deep learning models such as, LSTM, BILSTM, GRU and compared on the basis of ME, RMSE, MAE, MPE, MAPE, ACF1 on the training data set. For testing data set, we compared these deep learning models based on RMSE. LSTM model acts as a superior machine learning model over BILSTM and GRU in this data series. Forecasting performance of these three models significantly at par. This finding may be significant to build a strong literature of the Chelyabinsk weather's forecast, which can be helpful for policy makers and researchers. Also, we strongly believe that, this work could be used as a literature adaptation of machine learning technique for complex time series over statistical models. © 2022 IET Conference Proceedings. The healthcare industry is a conjunction of monolithic applications based on neutral and time-stamped diagnostics. Hence, it is particularly interested in decentralised technologies to achieve global and social-driven electronic health records. Blockchain is a decentralised networking system where multiple copies of immutable data records are distributed and validated among different independent nodes. While traditionally used to create currently famous digital cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, its worldwide fever helped to extend its applications beyond the financial industry. However, given how fast completely new technologies evolve, healthcare stakeholders are struggling to find the correct usage of blockchain ecosystem developments. Our goal is to provide a summary of the state-of-the-art efforts in the development of decentralised blockchain-based solutions for electronic healthcare records, in which social networking and wearable technology data is considered in order to provide patient-driven diagnostics - proven to be critical in the current SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. In this paper, we present a comprehensive guide on blockchain technologies competing in the healthcare market, including emerging blockchain-based initiatives and trends. Additionally, we discuss the main caveats of blockchain applications development in this industry based on practical experience. © 2021 IEEE.

Sum of squares (SOS) optimization has been a powerful and influential addition to the theory of optimization in the past decade. Its reliance on relatively large-scale semidefinite programming, however, has seriously challenged its ability to scale in many practical applications. In this paper, we introduce DSOS and SDSOS optimization as more tractable alternatives to sum of squares optimization that rely instead on linear programming and second order cone programming. These are optimization problems over certain subsets of sum of squares polynomials and positive semidefinite matrices and can be of potential interest in general applications of semidefinite programming where scalability is a limitation.

A manufacturing inventory model with shortages with carrying cost, shortage cost, setup cost and demand quantity as imprecise numbers, instead of real numbers, namely interval number is considered here. First, a brief survey of the existing works on comparing and ranking any two interval numbers on the real line is presented. A common algorithm for the optimum production quantity (Economic lot-size) per cycle of a single product (so as to minimize the total average cost) is developed which works well on interval number optimization under consideration. Finally, the designed algorithm is illustrated with numerical example.

Introducing neuro-fuzzy concept in decision making problems, makes a new way in artificial intelligence and expert systems. Sometimes, neural networks are used to optimize certain performances. In general, knowledge acquisition becomes difficult when problem’s variables, constraints, environment, decision maker’s attitude and complex behaviour are encountered with. A sense of fuzziness prevails in these situations;sometimes numerically and sometimes linguistically. Neural networks (or neural nets) help to overcome this problem. Neural networks are explicitly and implicitly hyped to draw out fuzzy rules from numerical information and linguistic information. Logic-gate and switching circuit mobilize the fuzzy data in crisp environment and can be used in artificial neural network, also. Game theory has a tremendous scope in decision making;and consequently decision makers’ hesitant characters play an important role in it. In this paper, a game situation is clarified under artificial neural network through logic-gate switching circuit in hesitant fuzzy environment with a suitable example;and this concept can be applied in future for real-life situations. © 2022, CC BY.

We explore a continuous aggregated dynamic model for developing two gas fields. The new borehole commissioning rates are the control parameters. Changes in the average flow rate of producing boreholes and current natural gas production are proportional. It is necessary to solve the problem of maximizing discounted accumulated income for two gas fields. We analyze the optimal control problem with an unrestricted right end and a fixed time. The Pontryagin maximum principle is a main tool for solving the problem. The special optimal control mode is of particular interest. We highlight the critical aspects of all possible optimal controls.

This article is dedicated to the study of an integrated approach to technological process of control of measurement of wearing parameters of traction electric motor collectors. Also the article presents the results of studies on the organization of an automated calculation and control system for the wearing of traction electric motor collectors at the stage of their repair using modern software. Special software product that allows to perform quick and truthful calculation of the wearing parameters of traction electric motor collectors depending on their run distance is proposed for implementation. After the entering of initial values, the statistical dependence of the collector diameter and its wearing on the run distance of the locomotive as well as theoretical distribution are calculated. The comparability of the theoretical and empirical distributions and sample regression coefficients that reflect the degree of connection between the theoretical and empirical distributions are estimated. © 2020 IEEE.

In this paper, integrated solutions from the physical layer (SDH/SONET and DTM) to the IP layer (IntServ and DiffServ) are analysed and proposed, concentrating not only on scalability, but also on QoS guarantees.
