Epilepsy is a neurological disorder associated with abnormal electrical activity in the brain, which causes seizures. The occurrence of seizure is not predictable; the duration between seizures, as well as the symptoms, varies from patient to another. Since the seizures are not predictable, and most of epileptic patients suffer from physical risky symptoms during the seizure, such patients are not able to perform daily work activities. The objective of this project is to design and implement a monitoring system for epileptic patients; the system should continuously check some vital signs, analyze the measurements, and decide whether the patient is nearly to have a seizure or not. Whenever a seizure is predicted, the system initiates an alarm. In addition, a notification should be sent to the health care responsible, as well as one preferred contact. By implementing the monitoring system, people who suffer from epilepsy will have more chance to work and live a normal life. Thus, this paper presents the concept of the overall system and shows results of the implemented systems: EEG, ECG and Fall Detection system. Results have shown that the fall detection accuracy reached 99.89% whereas the accuracy of the prediction using the ANN was about 97.34%.

Three competing hypotheses are tested regarding determinants of husband"s (vs. wife"s) participation in 12 selected household/child-care activities. The research utilizes interview responses of husbands, although it compares responses of both husbands and wives in a proportionate stratified area-probability sample from adjacent midwestern cities. The socialization-ideology hypothesis receives the strongest, albeit modest, support of the three hypotheses. Only marginal support is found for the relative husband/wife resources hypothesis, emphasizing professional employment of wives. No support is found for the time-availability hypothesis. Implications for the further integration of work and family roles for men are considered.

Neurons use electricity in order to communicate to each other. Due to numerous signals sent by neurons, there are oodles of electrical activity in the brain. Sensitive equipment like electroencephalogram (EEG) biosensor perceives the brainwaves emanated from neurons. Beta waves are responsible for problem solving or decision making and associated with attention. Alpha waves are associated with now and meditation. Neurosky EEG biosensor perceives the brainwaves and transforms these brainwaves into attention and meditation values. In this study, Neurosky EEG biosensor is used for measuring the attention and meditation levels of students. A program is developed in C# medium. The developed program records raw brainwave data, attention and meditation average while the students are studying. As the attention and meditation levels are high, the students learn the subjects in the course. If predetermined meditation and attention level are not caught, the developed program does not give permission to pass to another subject. Because of that the students have less meditation and attention average than the predetermined value; they get fewer grades in the exam.

Multithreaded Object-Oriented programming in concurrency environment using object-oriented technology is a complex activity. Programmers need to be aware of issues unrelated to their domain of problem, and are often unprepared for the challenges of the concurrent object-oriented programming brings. The interaction of their components becomes more complex, and makes it difficult to validate the design and correctness of the implemented program. Supporting separation of concerns in the design and implementation of the multithreaded object-oriented programming can provide a number of benefits such as comprehension, reusability, extensibility and adaptability in both design and implementation. We have tackled this problem by adopting the technique of separation of concerns in multithreaded object-oriented programming. In this paper we demonstrate an aspect-oriented approach that can be used for multithreaded object-oriented programming. We also show how better the separation of concerns in components. Readers/Writers problem is demonstrated using an aspect-oriented approach. Our methodology, which is based on aspect-oriented techniques as well as language and architecture independence, is an aspect-oriented framework.

The current research is focused on designing a multithreaded parallel solution for processing a pair of raster image files that are used to create an animation. In the computational process, a multithreaded model was used when processing arrays of data. The proposed approach is verified by a multithreaded parallel program implementation. The effectiveness of the proposed solution has been verified experimentally by processing an image with dimensions 4320x5400 and a white color mask. The obtained results in terms of execution time show an acceleration of the computational process when increasing the number of threads.

Road accidents have been known to be one of the leading death causes around the world for a long time. Thus, cars and all kinds of road vehicles form a huge source of danger, and they relate to multiple high risks. There are many factors that can contribute to road traffic accidents such as the health condition of the driver if a medical emergency event happened while driving, drowsiness, or mind-wandering. The proposed system can monitor the behavior of the driver while driving as well as his/her health status. Moreover, it analyzes the monitored data, alerts the driver in a timely manner, and assists him/her in adjusting the driving behavior. Different dangerous and risky situations which can be faced during driving can be captured and avoided by using such a system which leads at the end to increase road traffic safety and reduce vehicle collisions. Notifications are developed in cases of drowsiness, loss of focus, or other concerns that may emerge while driving. However, when the driver's ability to operate the vehicle safely is hampered by a health concern, the implemented system is only able at this stage to alarm the driver itself and the surrounding cars as a first level of alarms.
