Feature selection from microarray data has become an ever evolving area of research. Numerous techniques have widely been applied for extraction of genes which are expressed differentially in microarray data. Some of these comprise of studies related to fold-change approach, classical t-statistics and modified t-statistics. It has been found that the gene lists returned by these methods are dissimilar. In this work we compare the outputs of two different feature selection methods using three classifiers based on different algorithms namely the Random Forest Ensemble based method, the Support vector machine (SVM) and the KNN methods, using the prediction accuracy of the test datasets.

A feedback-guided Resource Requirement Prediction technique has been desc.ibed in [2]. An Execution History is built and maintained for all the jobs which are executed in a large distributed system like Grid. When a new job arrives, its clones are sought for in the Execution History and if clones are found, relevant performance information are retrieved and used for estimating resource requirements. In this paper, we focus on the implementation details of Execution History. Instead of using relational databases, here we have used NoSQL database, MongoDB. The reasons for using MongoDB are disc.ssed. Techniques for storing and retrieving data from the Execution History are also desc.ibed. In this paper, we propose a new CAC protocol which provides videoconference traffic taking multiple services like voice, text and multimedia at a time for multiclass users. In this proposed protocol we use priority on basis of account balance of customers and serve the calls with higher priority first. The higher the account balance higher is the priority. The call continues until the user closes the call or the balance is zero or the user is taking considerable amount of resources causing starvation. Video packet delay requirements are strict because delays are annoying to a viewer. An adaptive sc.eduling sc.eme to allocate optimum rate for each traffic queue is proposed to minimize the sc.eduling delay. By simulation experiments, we show that the proposed protocol achieves optimum rate with reduced delay, maximum use of bandwidth and maximum Quality of Service (QoS).

One of the important issues for proper usage of Grid is selection of suitable resources for jobs. Precise estimation of resource requirements for jobs is important in order to ensure efficient use of Grid resources. This paper gives an overview of an efficient job modeling technique for allocation of jobs onto the resource providers in Grid. The proposed job modeling depends on the feedback gathered from the previous executions of different jobs. The paper mainly focuses on the technical implementation details of collection of hardware performance monitoring data using the PAPI tool. The performance monitoring data are later used as feedback while analyzing the resource requirements of the job.

Grid is a distributed, dynamic, heterogeneous environment. Selection of appropriate resources for jobs in such an environment is complicated and challenging task. In order to support proper resource selection and high performance job execution, resource management is essential. Resource management identifies job modeling to be a very important part of it. A proper job modeling can be helpful to allocate jobs into their most suitable resource providers in Grid. Consequently, it assists to manage the execution of jobs as well as helps to achieve the desired level of high performance. This paper presents technical implementation details of job modeling technique which is based on execution history. Proposed job modeling technique utilizes PAPI features to gather hardware performance monitoring data of a job, which are later used for analyzing that job. Job modeling technique desc.ibes the process required to identify the most suitable resource provider for a particular job.
