The Semantic Web is slowly transforming the Web as we know it into a machine understandable pool of information that can be consumed and reasoned about by various clients. Source code is no exception to this trend and various communities have proposed standards to share code as linked data. With the availability of large amounts of open source code published in publicly accessible repositories, the introduction of massive horizontal scaling frameworks, and cloud computing infrastructures, a new era of software mining across information silos is reshaping the software engineering landscape. Given these technological advances, analyzing code at a global scale, across systems, projects and organizational boundaries, becomes feasible. In this paper, we introduce a clone detection algorithm and its implementation that can scale to such large global datasets, by modeling clones using description logic and applying a horizontal scaling Semantic Web reasoner. We demonstrate how our simple feature vector that only uses control statements, data types and method calls, can yield results similar to other popular clone detection tools. Our approach does not only allow us to reliably identify clones in a global context. By using a semantic reasoner, it also allows us to expand clone detection to a new class of semantic clones. We have compared our algorithm to some of the leading clone detection tools (DECKARD, CCFinder, JCD, and Simian) in order to validate our approach and show the differences in detected clones and performance.

In this paper, a 10.3Gbps transimpedance amplifier (TIA) with mutually coupled inductors is presented. The proposed circuit is fabricated in 0.18μm CMOS and it achieves 10.3Gbps operation in the presence of a 0.25pF photo-diode capacitance. The transimpedance gain is 50dBΩ. The -3dB bandwidth is 5.9GHz, and the group delay dispersion is 10ps over the -3dB bandwidth. The TIA core circuit consumes 4.23mW under 1.8V supply voltage, and occupies an area of 0.12mm 2 . Employing a design for small group delay dispersion, the measured TIA demonstrates the mask margin of 43% at 10.3Gbps operation.

Least association rules are the association rules that consist of the least item. These rules are very important and critical since they can be used to detect the infrequent events and exceptional cases. However, the formulation of measurement to efficiently discover least association rules is quite intricate and not really straight forward. In educational domain, this information is very useful since it can be used as a base for investigating and enhancing the current educational standards and managements. Therefore, this paper proposes a new measurement called Critical Relative Support (CRS) to mine critical least association rules from educational context. Experiment with students’ examination result dataset shows that this approach can be used to reveal the significant rules and also can reduce up to 98% of uninterested association rules.

This paper explores the vision of a dual-use sensing/communication system based on Cognitive Radio Network (CRN). The motivation of the paper is to push the convergence of sensing and communication systems into a unified cognitive network. The concept design of this sensing/communication system is presented along with potential functions and challenges. A through tree target detection using real data collected by CRN testbed is demonstrated. The CRN testbed will be built based on Rice WARP nodes. To further exploit the advantages of dynamic spectrum access and frequency diversity, multi-frequency signal, which is similar to OFDM signal, are employed to for detection experiment in the harsh radio environment. The experiment results illustrate the vision of employing a CRN as wireless sensor network. © 2011 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a HDTV transmission over IEEE802.3ac 4 × 5 MIMO WLAN system. The proposed system employs the next generation wireless LAN system based on IEEE802.3ac specification. It reaches more than 33 meter propagation distance by using 80 MHz of bandwidth on the 5 GHz band. In this system, video data is compressed by JPEG 2000 with error resilience tools. These tools improve error performance against wireless channel, and enable very high throughput communication. computer simulations are used to evaluate the bit error performance's influences to the video quality. Finally, we present RTL design results of the proposed wireless LAN system.

The experiment was conducted to determine the Hue optical properties of the three categories of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) namely unripe, underripe and ripe. The Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera with tele-converter zooming and the Keyence machine vision were used to capture the FFB images with two different settings of natural environment and direct sunlight. The species of oil palm tree used for the experiments were Elaeis Oleifera and Elaeis Guineensis Jacq. The images from the Nikon digital camera were analysed for optical properties of Red, Green, Blue (RGB) and then convert to Hue value using developed graphical user interface (GUI). The Hue values will then be compared to the value obtained from Keyence machine vision. The images of oil palm FFB in plantation were captured with setting cameras parameter namely shutterspeed which set to 0.125 seconds, image sensor's sensitivity (ISO) was set to Normal and white balance were calibrated using the standard white calibration CR-A74. The lighting intensity under oil palm canopy was simultaneously recorded and monitored using Extech Light Meter Datalogger. Using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), the ratio of test statistic of F with F critical for experiments under natural environment of oil palm plantation indicated the best differences of the hue optical properties among different maturity level of unripe, ripe and overripe FFB. Using the SAS programming for statistical analysis, the Hue and Red color values were found had significant effect to distinguish the maturity level (fm) of FFB with Pr > F are showed less than 0.01. The Green and Blue color values were not significant effect to differentiate the FFB maturity level which indicated the value of Pr > F showed 0.0243 and 0.9938 respectively. The Hue and Blue color values were not interaction with different lighting condition and the maturity level which indicated Pr > F for ml*fm showed 0.0668 and 0.1667 respectively. With the development of information technologies and increase scale of digital resources, personalized recommendation systems have come into the big picture of web2.0 technology. This paper proposed a graph-based recommendation algorithm using the user-resource rating data to construct a graph model and improves the model by adding user background information. The Random Walk with Restarts algorithm is applied to generate the final recommendation set. The improvement in accuracy on sparse data is illustrated by the experiments on the Movie Lens data set, comparing with the collaborative filtering algorithm.

A critical function of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is data gathering. While, one is often only interested in collecting a relevant function of the sensor measurements at a sink node, rather than downloading all the data from all the sensors. This paper studies the capacity of computing and transporting the specific functions of sensor measurements to the sink node, called aggregation capacity, for WSNs. It focuses on random WSNs that can be classified into two types: random extended WSN and random dense WSN. All existing results about aggregation capacity are studied for dense WSNs, including random cases and arbitrary cases, under the protocol model (ProM) or physical model (PhyM). In this paper, we propose the first aggregation capacity scaling laws for random extended WSNs. We point out that unlike random dense WSNs, for random extended WSNs, the assumption made in ProM and PhyM that each successful transmission can sustain a constant rate is over-optimistic and unpractical due to transmit power *** derive the first result on aggregation capacity for random extended WSNs under the generalized physical model. Particularly, we prove that, for the type-sensitive perfectly compressible functions and type-threshold perfectly compressible functions, the aggregation capacities for random extended WSNs with n nodes are of order Θ ((log n) -β/2-1 ) and Θ (((log n) -β/2 )/(log log n)), respectively, where β >; 2 denotes the power attenuation exponent in the generalized physical model.

Association Rules Mining is one of the popular techniques used in data mining. Positive association rules are very useful in correlation analysis and decision making processes. In educational context, determine a “right” program to the students is very unclear especially when their chosen programs are not selected. In this case, normally they will be offered to other programs based on the programs availability and not according to their program's field interests. The main concern is, by assigning inappropriate program which is not reflected their overall interest; it may create serious problems such as poorly in academic commitment and academic achievement. Therefore, Therefore in this paper, we proposed a model which consists of pre-processing, mining patterns and assigning weight to discover highly positive association rules. We examined the previous chosen programs by computer science students in our university for July 2008/2009 intake. The result shows that the proposed model can mine association rules with high correlation. Moreover, for data analysis, there are existed students that have been offered in computer science program at our university but not within their program's field interests.
