This paper presents classification of DRDO tender documents into predefined categories. Since there is a consistent growth in the volume of digital documents, both on the internet and within organizations, the need to classify them into categories is obvious. In this paper we used `bag-of-words' technique to represent the tender documents. The dataset was prepared and fed into Weka toolkit. Classification was implemented by Naïve Bayes classifier using 10-folds cross validation technique. The machine resulted in classifying the tender documents with an accuracy of 77.36% by technology category and 67.2% by lab's name.

In this study, a new type of training the adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is presented by applying different types of the Differential Evolution branches. The TSK-type consequent part is a linear model of exogenous inputs. The consequent part parameters are learned by a gradient descent algorithm. The antecedent fuzzy sets are learned by basic differential evolution (DE/rand/1/bin) and then with some modifications in it. This method is applied to identification of the nonlinear dynamic system, prediction of the chaotic signal under both noise-free and noisy conditions and simulation of the two-dimensional function. Instead of DE/rand/1/bin, this paper suggests the complex type (DE/current-to-best/1+1/bin & DE/rand/1/bin) on predicting of Mackey-glass time series and identification of a nonlinear dynamic system revealing the efficiency of proposed structure. Finally, the method is compared with pure ANFIS to show the efficiency of this method.

This paper describes a novel bed sensing method for unconstrained detection of body movement and scratching motion through biosignal measurement. The bed sensing method can be used to monitor a person's health condition at home or in the hospital. Moreover, this system is able to detect the frequency of scratching motion. Conventional methods that use infrared cameras or acceleration sensors impose physical and/or psychological stress on the patient. We have developed an unconstrained biosignal bed sensing device using piezoceramics. Piezoceramic sensors are bonded to stainless steel plates sandwiched between the floor and the four legs of the bed. The sensors accurately detect body movement and scratching motions through the acquisition and measurement of biosignals. The device is suitable for various health applications including monitoring of sleep and diseases characterized by itching.

CUDA has become a very popular programming paradigm in parallel computing area. However, very little work has been done for characterizing CUDA kernels. In this work, we measure the thread level performance, collect the basic block level characteristics, and glean the instruction level properties for about 35 programs from CUDA SDK, Parboil, and Rodinia benchmark suites. In addition, we define basic block vectors, synchronization vectors and thread similarity matrix to capture the characteristics of CUDA programs efficiently. We find that CUDA programs have some unique characteristics at each level compared to sequential programs.

A major source of potential pitfalls in CT-based attenuation correction (CTAC) of PET data is the use of integral mode of CT detectors in the presence of polychromatic x-rays resulting in limited information for determination of exact tissue content. The wide range of bone mineral contents and densities in the human body makes it difficult to map the CT number to Linear Attenuation Coefficient (LAC) at the PET energy when merely using one or two scaling factors. In this study we proposed an alternative approach in order to use energy sensitive CT imaging techniques as opposed to integrating CT imaging. The multi-energy strategy would promise significant improvements in tissue determination and leads to accurate energy mapping results in CTAC, which can be especially critical and useful in the presence of varying bone tissues. In order to accurately validate our method a novel bone model based on cortical and marrow mixtures is proposed. Furthermore, a two-step energy mapping algorithm is implemented. For validation, tomographic projections of phantom in five energy bin were acquired and reconstructed. The proposed energy mapping technique was used to estimate the LAC of different bone tissues at 511 keV. The results had 1.1% error at maximum compared to true values. To test the precision, the effect of 10% variation in effective energy was investigated. In different bone tissues, maximum errors induced by the pricewise linear and hybrid methods were 8.0% and 14.6%, respectively; whereas in the proposed multi-energy method, errors was 1.6%, at maximum.

A practical method for evaluating the three-dimensional（3D） position and velocity of a moving object used in the parabolic flight experiment is developed by using the binocular stereo vision measurement theory. The camera calibration mathematic model without considering the lens distortion is *** direct linear transformation（DLT） algorithm is improved to accomplish the camera *** camera calibration result and optimization algorithm are used to calculate the object＇s world coordinate from image *** 3D position and the velocity of the moving object are *** standard uncertainty in estimating the velocity is 0.0024 m/s,which corresponds to 1%level of the velocity of the object in the *** results show that this method is very useful for the parabolic flight experiments.

mRNA polyadenylation Is an essential mechanism in human genes and is direct linked to the termination of transcription. Alternative polyadenylation changes the length of the mature mRNA's 3'UTR. Since 3'UTRs have been shown to contain regulatory elements that control mRNA functioning, alternative polyadenylation plays an important role in controlling the expression of human genes. Prediction of polyadenylation sites can help with the identification of genes and aid our understanding of the mechanisms of alternative polyadenylation. In this study, we constructed a system for mRNA polyadenylation site prediction in human genes using SVM and based on an analysis of the sequence alignment between pair-end diTags (PET) and genome sequences. The PET sequences were mapped to the reference genome more accurate compared to earlier methods. We also analyzed single-site type and multiple-site type sequences PET sequence datasets and found that the frequencies of each nucleotide were different when the single-site type and multiple-site type PET sequences were compared.

In a Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), there are normally one or several sensor nodes working as Access Points (AP), which are able to provide a relay for other sensors to an external Internet connection. Since WSNs are resource constrained, the selection of APs is very crucial in economizing power usage. In this paper, we study the optimal selection of APs to maximize the WSN lifetime. This issue is closely related to routing protocols in WSN. We propose a new adaptive multi-path routing protocol to reduce the energy consumption and guarantee QoS requirements with respect to transmission delay. In this paper, we formulate the issues we mentioned above as a non-linear NP-hard optimization problem. Due to the high computation complexity of this problem, we proposed two polynomial-time approximation algorithms to optimally select APs in the WSN that based on the framework in. Combining with our new adaptive multi-path routing protocol, our preliminary simulation results show that our schemes can save more than 20% energy compared with the existing APs selection schemes with single path routing protocols.

Pin number or password that is used for authentication can be easily attacked. This limitation triggered the utilization of biometric for secured transactions. Biometric is unique to each individual and is reliable. Among the types of biometric being used currently, iris is the most accurate and it remains stable throughout a person's life. However the major challenge on iris and other biometric for authentication is the intra user variability in the acquired identifiers. Iris of the same person captured at different time may differ due to the signal noise of the iris camera. Traditional cryptography method is unable to encrypt and store biometric template, then perform the matching directly. Minor changes in the bits of the feature set extracted from the iris may lead to a huge difference in the results of the encrypted feature. In our approach, an iris biometric template is secured using iris biometric and passwords. Error Correction Code, ECC is introduced to reduce the variability and noise of the iris data. Experimental results show that this approach can assure a higher security with a low false rejection or false acceptance rate. The successful iris recognition rate using this approach is up to 97%. © 2010 IEEE.

The paper analyzed and model of a fault tolerant electromechanical controlled worm gear driven fuel shut off valve for aerospace application. The analysis is mainly on design a reduced order fractional controller. This is for controlling the velocity of worm gear so that the friction torque due to uneven rotational speed can be avoided. Because with the friction and stiction and backlash the valve system performance is reduced and more and more unstable this leads the system to failure. The proposed controller can provide robustness against the uncertain loading torque and system parameter.
