In the last years, demand for high-speed Internet access and multimedia service has increased greatly. The IEEE 802.16 Working Group on broadband wireless access is developing the IEEE 802.16 standards for wireless metropolitan area networks. IEEE 802.16 aims at providing broadband wireless last-mile access in a Metropolitan Area Network, easy deployment, high speed data rate and large spanning area. WiMAX also support quality of service architecture include priority scheduling and queuing for bandwidth allocation to support our system more efficient. Therefore, we have an idea to implement some scheduling schemes on WiMAX system in NS2 to analysis in uplink and downlink direction to get better performance. By simulation results, it can show the performance of different scheduling schemes clearly, and which one suit for different specific environment. Finally, we can support an efficient Queuing scheduling theory on dynamic bandwidth allocation to get better performance for the IEEE 802.16 system.

In many cases, protein mass-spectrometry data are imbalanced, i.e. the number of positive examples is much less than that of negative ones, which generally degrade the performance of classifiers used for protein recognition. Despite its importance, few works have been conducted to handle this problem. In this paper, we present a new method that utilizes the EasyEnsemble algorithm to cope with the imbalance problem in mass-spectrometry data. Furthermore, two feature selection algorithms, namely PREE (Prediction Risk based feature selection for EasyEnsemble) and PRIEE (Prediction Risk based feature selection for Individuals of EasyEnsemble), are proposed to select informative features and improve the performance of the EasyEnsemble classifier. Experimental results on three mass spectra data sets demonstrate that the proposed methods outperform two existing filter feature selection methods, which prove the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

This paper presents the goal, accomplishments and research issues of an NSF project. The project aims to develop a distributed event-triggered knowledge sharing network (ETKnet) for government organizations to share, not only data and application operations, but also knowledge embedded in organizational and inter-organizational policies, regulations, data and security constraints as well as collaborative processes and operating procedures. A unified knowledge and process specification language has been developed to formally specify multi-faceted human and organizational knowledge in terms of three types of knowledge rules and rule structures. A user-friendly interface is provided for collaborating organizations to define events of interest as well as application operations, knowledge rules, rule structures and triggers. Events are published in a global registry for browsing, querying, event subscription and notification. Rules and rule structures are automatically translated into Web services for distributed processing in ETKnet. Event data are dots that can be connected dynamically across organizational boundaries through the interoperation of knowledge rules, processes and application operations.

This paper introduces dynamic view, a novel semantic Web application, for users to query, browse and visualize distribution and evolution of research interests in temporal, spatial and ontological dimensions. We present motivation and requirements for a system like dynamic view, and discuss its architecture. We outline main algorithms for term extraction from Web pages of researchers and ontology learning from digital libraries, and sketch visualizations we used in the interface.

Reconfigurable processors are those whose contexts are dynamically reconfigured while they are working. We focus on a reconfigurable processor called FE-GA (Flexible Engine/Generic ALU array) for digital media processing. Currently, FE-GA does not have its dedicated behavior synthesis tool. In this paper, we design FIR filters and propose an algorithm to map them onto it automatically. For given an order and coefficients of an FIR filter, the algorithm generates a dedicated assembly code which represents a given FIR filter for FE-GA. Then an editor called FEEditor reads the generated assembly code and implements its corresponding FIR filter on FE-GA. The proposed algorithm achieves automatic mapping of FIR filters of all orders within the range of the specification of FE-GA architecture. Furthermore, it is proved that a minimum cycle is achieved to execute FIR filtering if there is no thread switching.

This paper mainly discusses the pursuit-evasion games, in which a team of autonomous mobile robots act as pursuers to pursue multiple moving targets cooperatively. In order to reduce the communication load during the task negotiation process, the auction mechanism in Economics was introduced,and an improved task negotiation process based on Multi-Unit Combinatorial Auction was proposed. It allocated task dynamically through capability classification and independent competition. A kind of multi-robot cooperative pursuit algorithm that allows dynamic alliance is proposed. In this paper, a set of radial basis function (RBF) neural networks, capable to learn the kinematic and dynamic behavior of the Romeo 4R autonomous vehicle, is presented. In order to obtain a set of good RBF nets in terms of the number of neurons and the number of lagged inputs, a multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) has been used. The kinematic and dynamic systems of the mobile robot have been split into three subsystems: the steering module, the drive module and the heading module. Each subsystem is modeled with a neural network that learns its behaviour using, among others, a set of lagged outputs as inputs. The outputs from the steering and drive modules are also used as inputs in the heading module. Neural networks - based models are compared to classical approaches.
