Cardiovascular disease holds the position of being the foremost cause of death worldwide. Heart Disease Prediction (HDP) is a difficult task as it needs advanced knowledge with better experience. Moreover, it encounters numerous significant challenges in clinical data analysis. While many researchers have focused on predicting heart disease, the performance metric, namely prediction accuracy, remains suboptimal. The accurate HDP can help the person to prevent himself from life threats and at the same time, inaccurate prediction can prove to be fatal. To solve these issues, in this review work several Deep Learning (DL), Machine Learning (ML) and optimization based HDP techniques are discussed. In recent times, many researchers have been utilizing different DL and ML algorithms to help the professionals and health care industry for the prediction of heart disease. Further, it discussed about various optimization-based algorithms and its performance analysis. Therefore, this review paper suggests that the optimization-based HDP algorithm could assist doctors in predicting the occurrence of heart disease in advance and offering suitable treatment. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Over the past decade, the utilization of machine learning for flood forecasting has experienced significant growth, propelled by advancements in high-performance computing, risk-informed decision-making, and collaborative efforts within the domains of weather and climate forecasting. These approaches offer the potential to enhance flood mapping methodologies and address the limitations inherent in numerical models, thus gaining traction in flood risk management. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive review of the literature on machine learning applications in flood estimation and prediction across various flood mapping contexts. The investigation will delve into diverse flood types, influential conditioning factors, and varied data sources. By studying 34 pertinent articles within the Indian context, this research endeavors to provide a comprehensive overview of current research endeavors, pinpoint existing knowledge gaps, and explore promising avenues for future research. Additionally, the paper underscores the imperative to enhance flood forecasting technologies and bridge the divide between academic inquiry, hydro-meteorological model advancement, and pragmatic flood management practices by leveraging the capabilities of probabilistic machine learning and deep learning models. © 2024 IEEE.

Most of the search-based software remodularization(SBSR)approaches designed to address the software remodularization problem(SRP)areutilizing only structural information-based coupling and cohesion quality ***,in practice apart from these quality criteria,there require other aspects of coupling and cohesion quality criteria such as lexical and changed-history in designing the modules of the software ***,consideration of limited aspects of software information in the SBSR may generate a sub-optimal modularization ***,such modularization can be good from the quality metrics perspective but may not be acceptable to the *** produce a remodularization solution acceptable from both quality metrics and developers’perspectives,this paper exploited more dimensions of software information to define the quality criteria as modularization ***,these objectives are simultaneously optimized using a tailored manyobjective artificial bee colony(MaABC)to produce a remodularization *** assess the effectiveness of the proposed approach,we applied it over five software *** obtained remodularization solutions are evaluated with the software quality metrics and developers view of *** demonstrate that the proposed software remodularization is an effective approach for generating good quality modularization solutions.

Does Partner Asymmetry Facilitate Innovation Speed? Organizational Learning and Social Exchange Perspectives

The right partner and high innovation speed are crucial for a successful research and development (R&D) alliance in the high-tech industry. Does homogeneity or heterogeneity between partners benefit innovation speed? This study examined the links between partner asymmetries (technological heterogeneity and network resource asymmetry) and innovative speed from both economic and social dual perspectives by focusing on biopharmaceutical industries. The results revealed an inverse U-shaped relationship between technology heterogeneity and innovation speed. In addition, a positive linear relationship exists between network resource asymmetry and innovation speed for 1991-2000 alliances and for biotech-biotech partner-type alliances;significantly negative moderating effects of time to market occurred on these linear relations. Finally, this study makes important theoretical and practical contributions to partner selection literature on R&D alliances in the biopharmaceutical industry. © 1988-2012 IEEE.

This research aimed to develop a 3D Faster-R-CNN model for detecting dental restorations and treatments in panoramic view radiographs and dental intra-oral X-rays. Trained on a comprehensive collection of 2D and 3D dental X-ray images, it marked a notable advancement. Utilizing the 3D TeethSeg 2022 MICCA dataset, the model demonstrated its ability to automatically detect and classify dental features, including challenging traits like cavity spots and tooth cracks. The study addressed the limitations of current methods for analyzing dental X-rays, especially in 3D format. While existing 2D models have some recognition capabilities, they struggle with 3D data intricacies. Moreover, dedicated 3D models for dental applications are lacking. This proposed model introduced a novel approach tailored for 3D dental image analysis, aiming to fill this gap. The model played a vital role in assisting dentists by identifying restorative and treatment needs for each tooth or patient, significantly enhancing dental care quality and efficiency. It showcased notable performance metrics: an accuracy of 89.14%, a precision of 95.84%, and a recall of 91.93%. Through advanced data augmentation and meticulous model training, it represented a significant advancement in detecting and classifying dental interventions, offering a comprehensive approach to dental image analysis. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
