Text perception is crucial for understanding the semantics of outdoor scenes,making it a key requirement for building intelligent systems for driver assistance or autonomous *** information in car-mounted videos can assist drivers in making ***,Car-mounted video text images pose challenges such as complex backgrounds,small fonts,and the need for real-time *** proposed a robust Car-mounted Video Text Detector(CVTD).It is a lightweight text detection model based on ResNet18 for feature extraction,capable of detecting text in arbitrary *** model efficiently extracted global text positions through the Coordinate Attention Threshold Activation(CATA)and enhanced the representation capability through stacking two Feature Pyramid Enhancement Fusion Modules(FPEFM),strengthening feature representation,and integrating text local features and global position information,reinforcing the representation capability of the CVTD *** enhanced feature maps,when acted upon by Text Activation Maps(TAM),effectively distinguished text foreground from non-text ***,we collected and annotated a dataset containing 2200 images of Car-mounted Video Text(CVT)under various road conditions for training and evaluating our model’s *** further tested our model on four other challenging public natural scene text detection benchmark datasets,demonstrating its strong generalization ability and real-time detection *** model holds potential for practical applications in real-world scenarios.

U-YOLOv3: A Model Focused on Underwater Object Detection

Underwater image enhancement and object detection has great potential for studying underwater environments. It has been utilized in various domains, including image-based underwater monitoring and Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV)-driven applications such as underwater terrain surveying. It has been observed that underwater images are not clear due to several factors such as low light, the presence of small particles, different levels of refraction of light, etc. Extracting high-quality features from these images to detect objects is a significant challenging task. To mitigate this challenge, MIRNet and the modified version of YOLOv3 namely Underwater-YOLOv3 (U-YOLOv3) is proposed. The MIRNet is a deep learning-based technology for enhancing underwater images. while using YOLOv3 for underwater object detection it lacks in detection of very small objects and huge-size objects. To address this problem proper anchor box size, quality feature aggregation technique, and during object classification image resizing is required. The proposed U-YOLOv3 has three unique features that help to work with the above specified issue like accurate anchor box determination using the K-means++ clustering algorithm, introduced Spatial Pyramid Pooling (SPP) layer during feature extraction which helps in feature aggregation, and added downsampling and upsampling to improve the detection rate of very large and very small size objects. The size of the anchor box is crucial in detecting objects of different sizes, SPP helps in aggregation of features, while down and upsampling changes sizes of objects during object detection. Precision, recall, F1-score and mAP are used as assessment metrics to assess proposed work. The proposed work compared with SSD, Tiny-YOLO, YOLOv2, YOLOv3, YOLOv4, YOLOv5, KPE-YOLOv5, YOLOv7, YOLOv8 and YOLOv9 single stage object detectors. Hybrid RMDL-CNN for speech recognition from unclear speech signal

ASR is an effectual approach, which converts human speech into computer actions or text format. It involves extracting and determining the noise feature, the audio model, and the language model. The extraction and determination of the noise feature is a crucial aspect of speech recognition, serving as both a process of information compression and signal deconvolution. ASR schemes are mostly employed in smart homes, smart appliances, and biometric schemes. Yet, traditional approaches offer very low performance because of a noisy environment. Moreover, local differences and accents negatively influence the ASR scheme execution during the conversion of the speech signals. This paper introduces a hybrid RMDL-CNN method to address these challenges. At first, the input of unclear speech is carried out by the dataset. Then, signal pre-processing is done by employing a Gaussian filter. After that, voice enhancement is accomplished by employing nonlinear spectral subtraction. Later, the speech word is segmented from the enhanced output based on the Attentional Encoder-Decoder approach and finally, the speech is recognized using the proposed RMDL-CNN. The RMDL-CNN method is devised by the combination of RMDL and CNN. Furthermore, the established RMDL-CNN is accessed for its efficiency based on several values of k-group value, as well as learning data. In addition, the introduced RMDL-CNN approach for speech recognition achieved better accuracy, PPV, as well as NPV of 0.909, 0.947, and 0.917 for dataset 1. Moreover, the RMDL-CNN has achieved the highest accuracy of 0.909, PPV of 0.926 and NPV of 0.888 for dataset 2. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Applying an Information Retrieval Approach to Retrieve Relevant Articles in the Legal Domain

Retrieving legal texts is an important step for building a question answering system on law domain, which needs relevant articles to answer a query. Remarkable research has been done on legal information retrieval. However, retrieving relevant articles for a question is an extremely challenging task. In this paper, we describe a novel approach to retrieve relevant civil law article for a question from legal bar exams. We used three models Hiemstra, BM25 and PL2F implemented within Terrier. Our system retrieves top-ranked document from the collection according to the models specified and it outputs one single document per query. The best model has been selected on the basis of voting algorithm. Appropriate civil law articles are then retrieved using a mapping between document pair-id and the articles. The system achieved an accuracy of over 71.16% of correct civil law articles on training data and moderate scores on test data. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2022. Deep neural networks (DNNs) have been the driving force behind many of the recent advances in machine learning. However, research has shown that DNNs are vulnerable to adversarial examples - input samples that have been perturbed to force DNN-based models to make errors. As a result, adversarial machine learning (AdvML) has gained a lot of attention, and researchers have investigated these vulnerabilities in various settings and modalities. In addition, DNNs have also been found to incorporate embedded bias and often produce unexplainable predictions, which can result in antisocial AI applications. The emergence of new AI technologies that leverage large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT and GPT-4, increases the risk of producing antisocial applications at scale. AdvML for social good (AdvML4G) is an emerging field that repurposes the AdvML bug to invent prosocial applications. Regulators, practitioners, and researchers should collaborate to encourage the development of prosocial applications and hinder the development of antisocial ones. In this work, we provide the first comprehensive review of the emerging field of AdvML4G. This paper encompasses a taxonomy that highlights the emergence of AdvML4G, a discussion of the differences and similarities between AdvML4G and AdvML, a taxonomy covering social good-related concepts and aspects, an exploration of the motivations behind the emergence of AdvML4G at the intersection of ML4G and AdvML, and an extensive summary of the works that utilize AdvML4G as an auxiliary tool for innovating prosocial applications. Finally, we elaborate upon various challenges and open research issues that require significant attention from the research community. © 2020 IEEE.

Cross-Site Scripting(XSS)remains a significant threat to web application security,exploiting vulnerabilities to hijack user sessions and steal sensitive *** detection methods often fail to keep pace with the evolving sophistication of cyber *** paper introduces a novel hybrid ensemble learning framework that leverages a combination of advanced machine learning algorithms—Logistic Regression(LR),Support Vector Machines(SVM),eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost),Categorical Boosting(CatBoost),and Deep Neural Networks(DNN).Utilizing the XSS-Attacks-2021 dataset,which comprises 460 instances across various real-world trafficrelated scenarios,this framework significantly enhances XSS attack *** approach,which includes rigorous feature engineering and model tuning,not only optimizes accuracy but also effectively minimizes false positives(FP)(0.13%)and false negatives(FN)(0.19%).This comprehensive methodology has been rigorously validated,achieving an unprecedented accuracy of 99.87%.The proposed system is scalable and efficient,capable of adapting to the increasing number of web applications and user demands without a decline in *** demonstrates exceptional real-time capabilities,with the ability to detect XSS attacks dynamically,maintaining high accuracy and low latency even under significant ***,despite the computational complexity introduced by the hybrid ensemble approach,strategic use of parallel processing and algorithm tuning ensures that the system remains scalable and performs robustly in real-time *** for easy integration with existing web security systems,our framework supports adaptable Application Programming Interfaces(APIs)and a modular design,facilitating seamless augmentation of current *** innovation represents a significant advancement in cybersecurity,offering a scalable and effective solution for securing modern web applications against evolving threats.

The fact that deaths from bore wells persist in India is highly alarming, particularly when young people are involved. Since 2009, there have been more than 40 documented child deaths, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) reported a worrisome 70% failure rate for rescue efforts. The solution must be found quickly and effectively. In response to this humanitarian problem, this paper has proposed a novel design for a robotics device. This proposed system is a creative illustration of how human interaction and technology may be used in tandem to swiftly evaluate the victims and guarantee their safe release. The main element of this solution is a skillfully designed robotic arm that smoothly integrates Internet of Things (IoT) devices (Rasp Pi or Arduino) and is powered by high-precision servo motors. Among the many features it offers are an advanced APR (Auto Playback Recorder) system, an infrared-based CCTV camera, a strong LED lighting system, advanced sensors (Passive Infrared, Ultrasonic Distance Measurement, Heartbeat, Temperature, and Gas), and a dual-functional mask. Artificial intelligence (AI) is another tactic that will be used in the rescue operation. This paper discusses the pressing need for safe, efficient bore well rescues and offers a comprehensive analysis of the methodology. This project uses cutting edge technology and human collaboration to stop more catastrophes and increase the speed and effectiveness of life-saving procedures in emergency situations. In an effort to contribute to the creation of a more secure and safe future, this research is presented as a critical first step in lowering the death toll related to Indian bore wells. © 2024 IEEE.
