Collaborative techniques for business process design are generally supported by groupware tools that allow process actors to interact collecting their knowledge about the activities performed. Despite success reports, challenges are still observed due to the complexity of this task. We propose to gather benefits of interviews, collaboration and visual methods in eliciting business processes in order to deal with problems identified in literature. We present an approach based on a collaborative mobile application which analysts should use while interviewing process stakeholders. The information is collected through a simple BPMN diagram through which they exchange information and build parts of the models.

Writings by the same author usually share specific traits, the so-called stylome, which is defined as an abstraction of the constraints and specific sequences of words and phrases used in the texts. Although identifying a stylome has been elusive, some advancements in this area have been made. Here, we present a system trained with texts from a given author that then unveiled some of its features and, in turn, detected texts not written by that author, or written within a different style. The system is based on time series processing capabilities of an unsupervised neural network model known as the self-organizing map. The core idea is that a system trained with texts by one author should detect an anomaly when presented with texts from other authors. We present results of authorship identification in several contexts including known benchmarks as well as some examples from literature, journalism, and popular science.

In this paper, we consider identifying Auto Regressive with eXternal input (ARX) models for both Linear Time-Invariant (LTI) and Linear Time-Variant (LTV) systems. We aim at doing the identification from the smallest possible number of observations. This is inspired by the field of Compressive Sensing (CS), and for this reason, we call this problem Compressive System Identification (CSI). In the case of LTI ARX systems, a system with a large number of inputs and unknown input delays on each channel can require a model structure with a large number of parameters, unless input delay estimation is performed. Since the complexity of input delay estimation increases exponentially in the number of inputs, this can be difficult for high dimensional systems. We show that in cases where the LTI system has possibly many inputs with different unknown delays, simultaneous ARX identification and input delay estimation is possible from few observations, even though this leaves an apparently ill-conditioned identification problem. We discuss identification guarantees and support our proposed method with simulations. We also consider identifying LTV ARX models. In particular, we consider systems with parameters that change only at a few time instants in a piecewise-constant manner where neither the change moments nor the number of changes is known a priori. The main technical novelty of our approach is in casting the identification problem as recovery of a block-sparse signal from an underdetermined set of linear equations. We suggest a random sampling approach for LTV identification, address the issue of identifiability and again support our approach with illustrative simulations.

π-conjugated low-molecules having the chemical structure of bis(alkyl-thiophene)thienothiophene, abbreviated as, C6-BTTT and C12-BTTT were synthesized and evaluated in their thermal, optical and electronic characteristics. Compounds were synthesized according with Suzuki reaction or Stille reaction. Thermal analysis represents both of C6- and C12-BTTTs did not possess liquid-crystalline phase. Comparison of hole transport characteristics shows a relative high hole transport in C6-BTTT and high air-stability in C12-BTTT, representing a contribution of alkyl-substituent.

The multi-user medium access mechanism OFDMA has to provide each node with a given amount of radio resources. In this paper we present a new distributed algorithm for the allocation of resource blocks in an OFDMA ad hoc network. We are principally interested in allocating resources fairly because the ad hoc networks which we work on are dedicated to be deployed in the areas of natural or man-made disasters and where the guarantee of connectivity is an important issue. Contrary to the commonly applied approach, we consider a resource allocation on the links under a two hop interference distance. The proposed allocation procedure is coupled with our other algorithm which detects and corrects two hop interferences and which has been revised and improved. The performance of our algorithm is evaluated by simulation for different topologies. We observed that simultaneous allocations in large networks allow a constant convergence time to be kept despite the networks size.

The admissible control missing rate (ACMR) of a sampled-data control system is an important index which reflects the stability robustness with respect to control missing in the network. In addition, ACMR can be used to design a hyper-period, by which system resource can be saved. In this paper, we propose a switched hold-zero (HZ) control as a control-missing compensator. The switched HZ control has two control modes: the hold-control one and the zero-control one. The switch between the two control modes is determined by a switching parameter. In order to obtain an ACMR as high as possible, we put forward a method to optimally design the switching parameter. It will be seen that the switched HZ control can lead to higher ACMR than that derived by the existing method.
