In this study, we propose and thoroughly analyze a new concept of aggregation operator based on the generalization of Choquet integral (CI). This approach is based on an application of quadrature formulae to calculate the Choquet integral values. However, we use a novel modification of this method based on a so called smoothing operation. In this manner, the value obtained is more precise and allows to preserve the key features of Choquet integral which can be effectively utilized in a process of aggregation of classifiers, or, in a more general form, in the information fusion processes. Numerical experiments series demonstrate the efficiency of our approach. Moreover, mathematical properties of newly constructed operators are thoroughly discussed. © 2023, The Authors. The improvement of driving comfort and vehicle stability performance is essential for the vehicles, which can be actualized by adaptive semi-active suspension control. Cloud computing allows several features for autonomous vehicles. Implementing the adaptive suspension control using historical road data gathered in the cloud database is one of these features. This paper deals with the adaptive semi-active suspension control from the perspective of a Vehicle-to-Cloud-to-Vehicle integration. Measured and historical performance(vertical acceleration and tire deformation) and velocity data in different locations and road irregularities from other vehicles have been stored in the cloud database and used to design the dedicated scheduling variable. The novelty of this paper is developing the adaptive semi-active suspension control method with different scheduling parameter design approaches based on cloud application for the road adaptation capabilities of the suspension system. The control architecture is founded on the Linear Parameter-Varying framework, where the scheduling variable allows the trade-off between driving comfort and vehicle stability. The real data simulation demonstrates the operation of the introduced method in the TruckSim simulation environment and Matlab/Simulink. The results show that both vehicle stability and driving comfort has been improved.

We use the IBMQ machine to implement a quantum database circuit. The database is made of a single multi-column table with multiple superposed records using Toffoli, CNOT and single quantum qubit gates. We present an optimized quantum circuit which allows us to select an item from the table, according to a specific oracle. Our circuit is based only on a single auxiliary qubit to perform the Selective Inversion (SI) and the Inversion Around the Average (IAA), which constitute the Grover operator. We analyze the difference between the generated transpired circuits while executing the original circuit on different IBMQ machines, namely the Melbourne and Athens quantum machines. We discuss the physical constraints causing the difference between the simulation on the composer and the executions of the circuits on the real IBMQ devices. © 2021 Copyright SPIE.

Federated learning (FL) is an emerging privacy preserving machine learning protocol that allows multiple devices to collaboratively train a shared global model without revealing their private local data. Non-parametric models like gradient boosting decision trees (GBDT) have been commonly used in FL for vertically partitioned data. However, all these studies assume that all the data labels are stored on only one client, which may be unrealistic for real-world applications. Therefore, in this work, we propose a secure vertical FL framework, named PIVODL, to train GBDT with data labels distributed on multiple devices. Both homomorphic encryption and differential privacy are adopted to prevent label information from being leaked through transmitted gradients and leaf values. Our experimental results show that both information leakage and model performance degradation of the proposed PIVODL are negligible. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper extends Bayesian probability theory by developing a multidimensional space of events (MDSE) theory that accounts for mutual influences between events and hypotheses sets. While traditional Bayesian approaches assume conditional independence between certain variables, real-world systems often exhibit complex interdependencies that limit classical model applicability. Building on established probabilistic foundations, our approach introduces a mathematical formalism for modeling these complex relationships. We developed the MDSE theory through rigorous mathematical derivation and validated it using three complementary methodologies: analytical proofs, computational simulations, and case studies drawn from diverse domains. Results demonstrate that MDSE successfully models complex dependencies with 15-20% improved prediction accuracy compared to standard Bayesian methods when applied to datasets with high interdimensionality. This theory particularly excels in scenarios with over 50 interrelated variables, where traditional methods show exponential computational complexity growth while MDSE maintains polynomial scaling. Our findings indicate that MDSE provides a viable mathematical foundation for extending Bayesian reasoning to complex systems while maintaining computational tractability. The timeliness of status message delivery in communications networks is subjective to time-varying wireless channel transmissions. In this paper, we investigate the age of information (AoI) of each source in a multi-source M/G/1queueingupdatesystem with active server failures. In particular, we adopt the method of supplementary variables to derive a closed-form expression for the average AoI in terms of system parameters, where the server repair time follows a general distribution and the service time of packets generated by independent sources is a general random variable. The rapidly evolving utilization of spin Hall effect (SHE) arising from spin-orbit coupling in 5d transition metals and alloys has made giant strides in the development of designing low-power, robust, and nonvolatile magnetic memory. Recent studies, on incorporating nonmetallic lighter elements such as oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur into 5d transition metals, have shown an enhancement in dampinglike torque efficiency θDL due to the modified SHE, but the mechanism behind this enhancement is not clear. In this paper, we study θDL at different temperatures (100–293 K) to disentangle the intrinsic and extrinsic side-jump scattering induced SHE in N-implanted Pt. We observe a crossover of intrinsic to extrinsic side-jump mechanism as the implantation dose increases from 2×1016 to 1×1017ions/cm2. A sudden decrease in the intrinsic spin Hall conductivity is counterbalanced by the increase in the extrinsic side-jump induced SHE efficiency. These results conclude that studying θDL as a function of implantation dose, and as a function of temperature, is important to understand the physical mechanism contributing to SHE.

Since the year of 2021, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) started work on the energy issues on the Moon including the feasibility study of the electrical power system with Mitsubishi Research Institute, Japan Space systems, Institute of Space and Astronautical science of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the universities and the industries. The architecture of the Moon electrical power infrastructure is found to be more like those of the power infrastructure of the earth than current satellite power system, and consisted of the power generation, power distribution grid and the power storage, and supplying electrical power to the consumer. The differences are that the environment of the Moon such as the vacuum and temperature condition, the influence of the regolith, etc. should have to be considered, and also the transportation cost of the construction is the key factor for the necessary technology to be selected. Of course, the technologies already established by the International Space Station (ISS) should be applied where necessary such as in the human habitable area. And more feature of the Moon is that the power generation on the Moon orbit and be sent to the surface or the inside the Permanent Shadow Region (PSR) other than on the surface of the Moon. The main consumer of the power system until the year 2050th is the water extraction and then the electrolysis of the water for, such as, the propellant for the transportation means and the electricity for the human habitant. The results of the system feasibility study of the Moon power architecture and also the electric power system team activities including the discussion with the hydrogen production team are going to be introduced. This paper introduces a novel family of generalized exponentiated gradient (EG) updates derived from an Alpha-Beta divergence regularization function. Collectively referred to as EGAB, the proposed updates belong to the category of multiplicative gradient algorithms for positive data and demonstrate considerable flexibility by controlling iteration behavior and performance through three hyperparameters: α, β, and the learning rate η. To enforce a unit l1 norm constraint for nonnegative weight vectors within generalized EGAB algorithms, we develop two slightly distinct approaches. One method exploits scale-invariant loss functions, while the other relies on gradient projections onto the feasible domain. As an illustration of their applicability, we evaluate the proposed updates in addressing the online portfolio selection problem (OLPS) using gradient-based methods. Here, they not only offer a unified perspective on the search directions of various OLPS algorithms (including the standard exponentiated gradient and diverse mean-reversion strategies), but also facilitate smooth interpolation and extension of these updates due to the flexibility in hyperparameter selection. Simulation results confirm that the adaptability of these generalized gradient updates can effectively enhance the performance for some portfolios, particularly in scenarios involving transaction costs. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.
