Large language models (LLMs) have garnered significant attention lately, and one particular implementation that has captivated users is ChatGPT, a first-of-its kind innovation that sparks intense debates among professionals regarding its ethical boundaries, especially after it was released for public use. Some of the debates are ongoing, with several people getting more used to this tool and some losing touch with several ethical concerns. Thus, it is crucial to explore the early professional’s perspectives surrounding ChatGPT to comprehend its potential impact on the educational sector and, in particular, society in general. This research aims to address this knowledge gap by employing data mining techniques on LinkedIn to analyze ChatGPT-related discussions and provide a comprehensive textual examination. The dataset for this investigation consists of 166 records written in English by LinkedIn users discussing ChatGPT in its early stage. The study utilized VOSviewer software to clean, analyze, mine, and visualize the data. Among the sample, it was observed that 49% of the users are PhD holders, predominantly with experience in scientific research and data science fields. Hence, the findings reveal that issues such as plagiarism, references, citations, manuscripts, papers, and literature reviews stand out as the major concerns. These results suggest that while ChatGPT can contribute to academic progress by fostering new knowledge, thoughts, and ideas, it can also facilitate academic misconduct, including plagiarism and inaccurate information dissemination. Therefore, this paper also provides discussions on the implications and ethical issues of ChatGPT. In particular, it is imperative to establish clear ethical boundaries and guidelines for the appropriate use of LLMs in academic settings. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

Despite the rapid expansion of the ICT sector, there's a disconnect with STEM subjects, leading to high dropout rates in computer science and engineering programs. This contributes to many unfilled positions in the ICT job market. One key issue is that traditional teaching methods struggle to engage students in challenging and abstract STEM subjects like programming. To address this, innovative technology-enhanced learning solutions are needed to be developed. In the past, we have developed a Programming Learning Assistant System (PLAS) to support programming learning for novice students. PLAS offers several types of exercise problems to foster code reading and writing skills at different levels. In this paper, we propose the initial prototype of the gamification of PLAS to enhance students' comprehension of programming concepts, improve their confidence, cultivate their interest in STEM fields, and increase course engagement through dynamic and engaing scenarios.

To advance the educational quality of C programming, we have proposed and implemented the C Programming Learning Assistant System (CPLAS) as a Web application system. CPLAS offers a Code Writing Problem (CWP) that requests students to write the source code from scratch to improve their code-writing skills. In past years, we have utilized code writing problems in our C programming courses. In this paper, we analyze the solution results of students taking the course in 2022. The results confirmed the effectiveness of the code validation function for the automatic marking and the coding rule checking function to improve readable code writing skills.

At CRYPTO'19, Gohr[1] presented ResNet-based neural distinguishers (ND) for the round-reduced SPECK32/64 cipher. However, due to the black-box use of such deep learning models, it is hard for humans to understand why these distinguishers work, impeding advancements in cryptanalytic knowledge. In this work, we aim to effectively adapt eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) techniques, notably Local Interpretable Model-Agnostic Explanations (LIME) and Shapley Additive Explanations (SHAP), to gain a detailed understanding of the important features useful in Gohr's neural distinguishers.

Integrating deep learning in speech separation has revolutionized audio signal processing, impacting fields like speech recognition, audio-visual content creation, telecommunication, hearing aid technologies, etc. In time-frequency domain separation, models leverage amplitude and phase information while the waveform is used for training in the time-domain speech separation model. An emerging approach uses complex values, capturing intricate audio nuances for improved performance. Modern models prioritize speaker-independent separation, adapting to dynamic or unknown speaker identities. Their ability to simultaneously separate multiple speakers is crucial for applications like conference calls, overlapping dialogues, and surveillance. This review explores deep models in speech separation, offering insights into the time domain, and time-frequency domain strategies. The development of avatars can significantly impact the sustainable growth of smart tourism. Avatars, virtual representations of individuals, can enhance the tourism experience by providing personalized and immersive. This article uses the systematic literature review (SLR) method to investigate the avatar model development and sustainable smart tourism growth topics. This study aims to identify and analyze the main factors of avatar development and whether the proposed model of the avatar is suitable to support sustainable smart tourism. Two research questions (RQ) were determined and converted into the search term. This study's research results in 30 articles as references. The result of this study is the six main factors of avatar development and a proposed Avatar Model, which can be a reference for the stakeholders (game developer, visual designer, animator, tourism business owner, etc.) to improve their service to users/tourists. The limitations of this study are the database range and keyword search usage. Theoretical implication for academics is in sustainable smart tourism and avatar development areas. The future work is research can be conducted in empiric method with the respondent is Gen Z directly, and also how the stakeholders can easily adopt the proposed avatar model. © 2023 IEEE.
