This book constitutes the thoroughly reviewed joint postprocessings of two international workshops on Coordination, Organization, Institutions and Norms in Agent systems, COIN@AAMAS 2010, held in Toronto, Canada in May 2010 and COIN@MALLOW 2010, held in Lyon, France in August 2010. The 20 revised full papers presented went through several rounds of reviewing and revision and were carefully selected for presentations. The papers are organized in topical sections on normative systems design and modeling; social aspects; and norms at runtime: learning and enforcing.

This book presents the proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Trust, Privacy and Security in Digital Business (TrustBus 2009), held in Linz, Austria d- ing September 3–4, 2009. The conference continues from previous events held in Zaragoza (2004), Copenhagen (2005), Krakow (2006), Regensburg (2007) and Turin (2008). The advances in the information and communication technologies (ICT) have raised new opportunities for the implementation of novel applications and the pro- sion of high-quality services over global networks. The aim is to utilize this ‘infor- tion society era’ for improving the quality of life for all citizens, disseminating knowledge, strengthening social cohesion, generating earnings and finally ensuring that organizations and public bodies remain competitive in the global electronic m- ketplace. Unfortunately, such a rapid technological evolution cannot be problem free. Concerns are raised regarding the ‘lack of trust’ in electronic procedures and the - tent to which ‘information security’ and ‘user privacy’ can be ensured. TrustBus 2009 brought together academic researchers and industry developers, who discussed the state of the art in technology for establishing trust, privacy and security in digital business. We thank the attendees for coming to Linz to participate and debate the new emerging advances in this area.

This volume collects the papers selected for presentation at the IX Congress of the Italian Association for Arti?cial Intelligence (AI*IA), held in Milan at the University of Milano–Bicocca (September 21–23, 2005). On the one hand this congress continues the tradition of AI*IA in organizing its biannual s- enti?c meeting from 1989; on the other hand, this edition is a landmark in the involvement of the international community of arti?cial intelligence (AI), directly involving a broad number of experts from several countries in the P- gramCommittee. Moreover, the peculiar nature of scienti?c researchin arti?cial intelligence (which is intrinsically international) and several consolidated int- national collaborations in projects and mobility programs allowed the collection and selection of papers from many di?erent countries, all around the world, enlarging the visibility of the Italian contribution within this research ?eld. Arti?cial intelligence is today a growing complex set of conceptual, theor- ical, methodological, and technological frameworks, o?ering innovative com- tational solutions in the design and development of computer-based systems. Within this perspective, researchers working in this area must tackle a broad range of knowledge about methods, results, and solutions coming from di?erent classical areas of this discipline. The congress was designed as a forum allowing researchers to present and discuss specialized results as general contributions to AI growth.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed papers presented at five international workshops held in conjunction with the 6th International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing, ICSOC 2008, in Sydney, Australia, in December 2008. The volume contains 41 reviewed and improved papers presented at the 4th International Workshop on Engineering Service-Oriented Applications (WESOA 2008), the Second International Workshop on Web APIs and Services Mashups (Mashups 2008), the First International Workshop on Quality-of-Service Concerns in Service Oriented Architectures (QoSCSOA 2008), the First Workshop on Enabling Service Business Ecosystems (ESBE 2008), and the Third International Workshop on Trends in Enterprise Architecture Research (TEAR 2008). The papers offer a wide range of hot topics in service-oriented computing: management and analysis of SOA processes; development of mashups; QoS and trust models in service-oriented multi-agent systems; service ecosystems, service standardization, and evolutionary changes of Web services; governance aspects of SOA, enterprise models and architectures.

Smart grids have become an emerging topic due to net-zero emissions and the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology focused on achieving targeted energy distribution and maintaining operating reserves. In order to prevent cyber-physical attacks, issues related to the security and privacy of grid systems are receiving much attention from researchers. In this paper, privacy-aware energy grid management systems with anomaly detection networks and distributed learning mechanisms are proposed. The anomaly detection network consists of a server and a client learning network, which collaboratively learn patterns without sharing data, and periodically train and exchange knowledge. We also develop learning mechanisms with federated, distributed, and split learning to improve privacy and use Q-learning for decision-making to facilitate interpretability. To demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed schemes, extensive simulations are conducted in different energy grid environments with different target distributions, ORRs, and attack scenarios. The experimental results show that the proposed schemes not only improve management performance but also enhance privacy and security levels. We also compare the management performance and privacy level of the different learning machines and provide usage recommendations.
