E-commerce customer churn prevention using machine learning-based business intelligence strategy

Businesses in the E-Commerce sector, especially those in the business-to-consumer segment, are engaged in fierce competition for survival, trying to gain access to their rivals' client bases while keeping current customers from defecting. The cost of acquiring new customers is rising as more competitors join the market with significant upfront expenditures and cutting-edge penetration strategies, making client retention essential for these organizations. The best course of action in this circumstance is to detect prospective churning customers and prevent churn with temporary retention measures. It's also essential to understand why the customer decided to go away to apply customized win-back strategies. Each customer's information, including searches made, purchases made, frequency of purchases, reviews left, feedback is given, and other data, is kept on file by the e-commerce company. Machine learning and data mining may be aided by examining this enormous quantity of data, analysing customer behaviour, and seeing potential attrition opportunities. The support vector machine is a popular supervised learning method in machine learning applications. Predictive analysis uses the hybrid classification approach to address the regression and classification issues. The process for forecasting E-Commerce customer attrition based on support vector machines is presented in this paper, along with a hybrid recommendation strategy for targeted retention initiatives. You may prevent future customer churn by suggesting reasonable offers or services. The empirical findings demonstrate a considerable increase in the coverage ratio, hit ratio, lift degree, precision rate, and other metrics using the integrated forecasting model. To effectively identify separate groups of lost customers and create a customer churn retention strategy, categorize the various lost customer types using the RFM principle. © 2023 The Authors

Resonant plasmonic detection of terahertz radiation in field-effect transistors with the graphene channel and the black-AsxP1−x gate layer

We propose the terahertz (THz) detectors based on field-effect transistors (FETs) with the graphene channel (GC) and the black-Arsenic (b-As) black-Phosphorus (b-P), or black-Arsenic-Phosphorus (b-AsxP1−x) gate barrier layer. The operation of the GC-FET detectors is associated with the carrier heating in the GC by the THz electric field resonantly excited by incoming radiation leading to an increase in the rectified current between the channel and the gate over the b-AsxP1−x energy barrier layer (BLs). The specific feature of the GC-FETs under consideration is relatively low energy BLs and the possibility to optimize the device characteristics by choosing the barriers containing a necessary number of the b-AsxP1−x atomic layers and a proper gate voltage. The excitation of the plasma oscillations in the GC-FETs leads to the resonant reinforcement of the carrier heating and the enhancement of the detector responsivity. The room temperature responsivity can exceed the values of 103 A/W. The speed of the GC-FET detector's response to the modulated THz radiation is determined by the processes of carrier heating. As shown, the modulation frequency can be in the range of several GHz at room temperatures. © 2023, CC BY.

Microcombs are revolutionizing optoelectronics by providing parallel, mutually coherent wavelengthchannels for time-frequency metrology and information processing. To implement this essential function inintegrated photonic systems, it is desirable to drive microcombs directly with an on-chip laser in a simpleand flexible way. However, two major difficulties have prevented this goal: (1) generating mode-lockedcomb states usually requires a significant amount of pump power and (2) the requirement to align laser andresonator frequency significantly complicates operation and limits the tunability of the comb lines. Here, weaddress these problems by using microresonators on an AlGaAs on-insulator platform to generate dark-pulsemicrocombs. This highly nonlinear platform dramatically relaxes fabrication requirements and leads to arecord-low pump power of <1 mW for coherent comb generation. Dark-pulse microcombs facilitated bythermally controlled avoided mode crossings are accessed by direct distributed feedback laser *** any feedback or control circuitries, the comb shows good coherence and stability. With around150 mW on-chip power, this approach also leads to an unprecedentedly wide tuning range of over one freespectral range (97.5 GHz). Our work provides a route to realize power-efficient, simple, and reconfigurablemicrocombs that can be seamlessly integrated with a wide range of photonic systems.

Vehicle Edge Computing (VEC) assists vehicles in performing latency-sensitive tasks by deploying resources near the vehicle. Designing an incentive mechanism for vehicles and VEC is crucial for realizing an intelligent transmission system. Considering the rationality of resource allocation, we model the utility functions of the VEC and the vehicle, which are used as optimization objectives. Specifically, the VEC allocates resources through pricing to maximize revenue under resource-constrained conditions, and the vehicle weighs payments against energy consumption to determine offloading and resource allocation. Given the vehicle movement and the variable channel state, we use the Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) algorithm to solve these optimization problems. To reduce the learning difficulty of the DRL algorithm in complex VEC scenarios with multiple optimization variables, we propose a Pricing-Driven Resource Allocation (PDRA) algorithm that performs mobility-aware task offloading and calculates the optimal values of the optimization variables in the utility function of the vehicle to reduce the decision dimension. Furthermore, we also propose a DRL-based Pricing-Driven Dynamic Resource Allocation (DPDDRA) algorithm to achieve efficient resource allocation. Extensive experimental results show that the proposed algorithms can reduce the learning difficulty while maximizing VEC and vehicle revenue in complex VEC scenarios. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Next-generation wireless networks are conceived to provide reliable and high-data-rate communication services for diverse scenarios, such as vehicle-to-vehicle, unmanned aerial vehicles, and satellite networks. The severe Doppler spreads in the underlying time-varying channels induce destructive inter-carrier interference (ICI) in the extensively adopted orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform, leading to severe performance degradation. This calls for a new air interface design that can accommodate the severe delay-Doppler spreads in highly dynamic channels while possessing sufficient flexibility to cater to various applications. This article provides a comprehensive overview of a promising chirp-based waveform named affine frequency division multiplexing (AFDM). It is featured with two tunable parameters and achieves optimal diversity order in doubly dispersive channels (DDC). We study the fundamental principle of AFDM, illustrating its intrinsic suitability for DDC. Based on that, several potential applications of AFDM are explored. Furthermore, the major challenges and the corresponding solutions of AFDM are presented, followed by several future research directions. Finally, we draw some instructive conclusions about AFDM, hoping to provide useful inspiration for its development. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper deals with the design of a new structure of an Ultra High Frequency (UHF) dipole antenna for RFID TAG. To design such antenna, we have to optimize such structure by taking into account the input impedance matching by reaching an input impedance of the antenna which is equal to the conjugate one of the microchips, the implementation of this type of antenna on an object with a metallic surface, influences the efficiency of these parameters. Knowing that the manufacturing cost of an antenna is one of the most important factors that must be taken into consideration during the design and realization phase. To achieve this goal, this paper deals with the design of a new and a simple Ultra High Frequency RFID tag antenna formed from a folded spiral dipole printed on a FR4 substrate having a dielectric constant $\varepsilon \mathrm{r}=4.4$ , and loss tangent $\tan\delta=0.02$ , the antenna structure is matched to an “ALIEN HIGGS 4” UHF microchip in strap packaging, it can be mounted on a metallic surface, and it should be noted that the structure does not include metal vias or short-circuiting stubs.

Environmental monitoring has become more crucial as a result of the recent climatic changes, making it a hot issue and a very active study field. This field uses wireless sensor networks and remote sensing to collect data about the environment. Recent developments, including the Internet of Things (IoT) concept, the cloud computing paradigm, and cyber-physical systems, assist the administration and transmission of enormous volumes of data about changes in environmental parameters. The current work presents three different IoT-based wireless sensors for monitoring the environment and the surrounding area: one uses Wi-Fi User Datagram Protocol (UDP)-based communication, one uses Wi-Fi and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), and a third one uses Bluetooth Smart. The ability to capture data at distant places and see it from any device with an Internet connection is a feature shared by all of the systems that have been discussed. This makes it possible to monitor vast geographic regions. These systems' specific development details are discussed, along with their main distinctions and affinities. The three created systems were evaluated for their suitability for IoT-based solutions, taking into consideration their energy independence, usability, solution complexity, and Internet connectivity capability.

As Industrie 4.0 (I4.0) technologies continue to advance, ensuring the reliability and robustness of emerging standards like Asset Administration Shells (AAS) becomes paramount. This paper introduces a comprehensive testing approach for reactive (a.k.a. Type 2) AAS implementations, addressing the challenges posed by their intricate and dynamic nature. Our methodology adopts a design-by-contract approach to formalize API behavior. We design the client as a test oracle, where code contracts extensively validate the AAS operations, their interactions and effects. The related test cases cover various operation chains, including superpaths, service specifications, and serialization modifiers. The objective of this approach is to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of testing in the evolving landscape of AAS Type 2 implementations.
