Myocarditis is a serious cardiovascular ailment that can lead to severe consequences if not promptly *** is triggered by viral infections and presents symptoms such as chest pain and heart *** detection is crucial for successful treatment,and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging(CMR)is a valuable tool for identifying this ***,the detection of myocarditis using CMR images can be challenging due to low contrast,variable noise,and the presence of multiple high CMR slices per *** overcome these challenges,the approach proposed incorporates advanced techniques such as convolutional neural networks(CNNs),an improved differential evolution(DE)algorithm for pre-training,and a reinforcement learning(RL)-based model for *** this method presented a significant challenge due to the imbalanced classification of the Z-Alizadeh Sani myocarditis dataset from Omid Hospital in *** address this,the training process is framed as a sequential decision-making process,where the agent receives higher rewards/penalties for correctly/incorrectly classifying the minority/majority ***,the authors suggest an enhanced DE algorithm to initiate the backpropagation(BP)process,overcoming the initialisation sensitivity issue of gradient-based methods like back-propagation during the training *** effectiveness of the proposed model in diagnosing myocarditis is demonstrated through experimental results based on standard performance ***,this method shows promise in expediting the triage of CMR images for automatic screening,facilitating early detection and successful treatment of myocarditis.

Words don’t come easy, which fosters the use of generative artificial intelligence models in ongoing popularity of widely available applications such as ChatGPT. The result is an even greater flood of online content that takes time to process. It is where Natural Language Processing tools for classification come in handy. Distinguishing fake news, event types, and other tasks can help process everyday information. In practice, such systems must work on data streams where fast prediction is needed. To achieve it, methods not based on neural networks can be used. Instead, they require feature extractions from the text to convert it to the model input. The primary methods used for this purpose are bag-of-words and n-grams, which allow converting the corpus of texts into a numerical format. This paper proposes a new strategy for creating n-grams – Hollow n-grams – which can be used to create classifiers ensembles with a higher generalization ability than models based on regular n-grams only. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Machine Learning(ML)has changed clinical diagnostic procedures *** in Cardiovascular Diseases(CVD),the use of ML is indispensable to reducing human *** studies focused on disease prediction but depending on multiple parameters,further investigations are required to upgrade the clinical ***-layered implementation of ML also called Deep Learning(DL)has unfolded new horizons in the field of clinical *** formulates reliable accuracy with big datasets but the reverse is the case with small *** paper proposed a novel method that deals with the issue of less data *** by the regression analysis,the proposed method classifies the data by going through three different *** the first stage,feature representation is converted into probabilities using multiple regression techniques,the second stage grasps the probability conclusions from the previous stage and the third stage fabricates the final *** experiments were carried out on the Cleveland heart disease *** results show significant improvement in classification *** is evident from the comparative results of the paper that the prevailing statistical ML methods are no more stagnant disease prediction techniques in demand in the future.

Innovative Approaches to Task Scheduling in Cloud Computing Environments Using an Advanced Willow Catkin Optimization Algorithm

The widespread adoption of cloud computing has underscored the critical importance of efficient resource allocation and management, particularly in task scheduling, which involves assigning tasks to computing resources for optimized resource utilization. Several meta-heuristic algorithms have shown effectiveness in task scheduling, among which the relatively recent Willow Catkin Optimization (WCO) algorithm has demonstrated potential, albeit with apparent needs for enhanced global search capability and convergence speed. To address these limitations of WCO in cloud computing task scheduling, this paper introduces an improved version termed the Advanced Willow Catkin Optimization (AWCO) algorithm. AWCO enhances the algorithm’s performance by augmenting its global search capability through a quasi-opposition-based learning strategy and accelerating its convergence speed via sinusoidal mapping. A comprehensive evaluation utilizing the CEC2014 benchmark suite, comprising 30 test functions, demonstrates that AWCO achieves superior optimization outcomes, surpassing conventional WCO and a range of established meta-heuristics. The proposed algorithm also considers trade-offs among the cost, makespan, and load balancing objectives. Experimental results of AWCO are compared with those obtained using the other meta-heuristics, illustrating that the proposed algorithm provides superior performance in task scheduling. The method offers a robust foundation for enhancing the utilization of cloud computing resources in the domain of task scheduling within a cloud computing environment.

Detecting fake news is currently one of the critical challenges facing modern societies. The problem is particularly relevant, as disinformation is readily used for political warfare but can also cause significant harm to the health of citizens, such as by promoting false data on the harmfulness of selected therapies. One way to combat disinformation is to treat fake news detection as a machine learning task. This paper presents such an approach, which additionally addresses an important problem related to the non-stationarity characteristics of the fake news. We elaborated a stream data with the simulation of domain shift based on two popular benchmark datasets dedicated to the fake news classification problem (Kaggle Fake News and Constraint@AAAI2021-COVID19 Fake News Detection). The proposed learning system works in a Continual Learning (CL) framework and integrates a self domain shift adaptation in a machine learning scheme. The method was built following state-of-the-art techniques, that includes Word2Vec as a feature extractor and the LSTM model as a classifier. The performance of the approach has been evaluated over the generated data stream. The convenience of our approach is showed in the results, where the accuracy gain with respect to a CL approach without domain adaptation is observed to be significant. © 2023 IEEE.

Recently,Opportunistic networks(OppNets)are considered to be one of the most attractive developments of Mobile Ad Hoc networks that have arisen thanks to the development of intelligent *** are characterized by a rough and dynamic topology as well as unpredictable contacts and contact *** is forwarded and stored in intermediate nodes until the next opportunity ***,achieving a high delivery ratio in OppNets is a challenging *** is imperative that any routing protocol use network resources,as far as they are available,in order to achieve higher network *** this article,we introduce the Resource-Aware Routing(ReAR)protocol which dynamically controls the buffer usage with the aim of balancing the load in resource-constrained,stateless and non-social *** ReAR protocol invokes our recently introduced mutual informationbased weighting approach to estimate the impact of the buffer size on the network performance and ultimately to regulate the buffer consumption in real *** proposed routing protocol is proofed conceptually and simulated using the Opportunistic Network Environment *** show that the ReAR protocol outperforms a set of well-known routing protocols such as EBR,Epidemic MaxProp,energy-aware Spray and Wait and energy-aware PRoPHETin terms of message delivery ratio and overhead ratio.

DRACO: Decentralized Asynchronous Federated Learning over Row-Stochastic Wireless networks

Emerging technologies and use cases, such as smart Internet of Things (IoT), Internet of Agents, and Edge AI, have generated significant interest in training neural networks over fully decentralized, serverless networks. A major obstacle in this context is ensuring stable convergence without imposing stringent assumptions, such as identical data distributions across devices or synchronized updates. In this paper, we introduce DRACO, a novel framework for decentralized asynchronous Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) over row-stochastic gossip wireless networks. Our approach leverages continuous communication, allowing edge devices to perform local training and exchange model updates along a continuous timeline, thereby eliminating the need for synchronized timing. Additionally, our algorithm decouples communication and computation schedules, enabling complete autonomy for all users while effectively addressing straggler issues. Through a thorough convergence analysis, we show that DRACO achieves high performance in decentralized optimization while maintaining low variance across users even without predefined scheduling policies. Numerical experiments further validate the effectiveness of our approach, demonstrating that controlling the maximum number of received messages per client significantly reduces redundant communication costs while maintaining robust learning performance. © 2020 IEEE.

It is crucial to predict the outputs of a thickening system,including the underflow concentration(UC)and mud pressure,for optimal control of the *** proliferation of industrial sensors and the availability of thickening-system data make this ***,the unique properties of thickening systems,such as the non-linearities,long-time delays,partially observed data,and continuous time evolution pose challenges on building data-driven predictive *** address the above challenges,we establish an integrated,deep-learning,continuous time network structure that consists of a sequential encoder,a state decoder,and a derivative module to learn the deterministic state space model from thickening *** a case study,we examine our methods with a tailing thickener manufactured by the FLSmidth installed with massive sensors and obtain extensive experimental *** results demonstrate that the proposed continuous-time model with the sequential encoder achieves better prediction performances than the existing discrete-time models and reduces the negative effects from long time delays by extracting features from historical system *** proposed method also demonstrates outstanding performances for both short and long term prediction tasks with the two proposed derivative types.
