Efficient navigation of emergency response vehicles (ERVs) through urban congestion is crucial to life-saving efforts, yet traditional traffic systems often slow down their swift passage. In this work, we introduce Dynamic Priority Signalling System (DyPSS), an intelligent, multi-layered traffic management solution designed to minimize ERV delays by creating "green corridors"at traffic signals. Using technologies like fog computing, cloud computing, global positioning system and deep learning, DyPSS adjusts traffic lights instantly to clear congestion as an ERV approaches. Simulation testing was conducted using SUMO and it demonstrated DyPSS's potential to significantly reduce ERV travel time in dense urban settings with minimal disruption to general traffic flow. This system could drastically improve emergency response by reducing delays and helping responders reach their destinations faster, potentially saving more lives. © 2025 IEEE.

A hybrid convolutional neural network for sarcasm detection from multilingual social media posts

Sarcasm in social media postings significantly impacts automated sentiment extraction due to its potential to invert the overall polarity of phrases. It poses a formidable challenge in extracting genuine sentiments from informal multilingual comments about events or individuals, especially when the message is in a multilingual form. The prevalence of noisy datasets further complicates this task. This work proposes a hybrid convolutional neural network (CNN-H) model to classify sarcastic and non-sarcastic statements. Unlike traditional CNN models, CNN-H integrates character and word embeddings, enhancing its capacity to handle the complexities of multilingual content. Evaluation on five benchmark datasets, including English (news headlines, Ghosh Tweet, Riloff Tweet), Hindi, and multilingual Hindi-English (Hinglish), demonstrates the superior performance of CNN-H. The model surpasses various state-of-the-art conventional machine-learning and deep-learning models, including CNN, achieving an impressive F1-score of 93.0% on the multilingual dataset. The incorporation of character and word embeddings proves pivotal in mitigating the impact of noisy datasets, prevalent in social media posts. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

In recent years, academics have placed a high value on multi-modal emotion identification, as well as extensive research has been conducted in the areas of video, text, voice, and physical signal emotion detection. This paper proposes a novel multimodal emotion recognition model that employs a hybrid model with AMIG-based feature fusion on facial and EEG feature sets. The EEG signal and facial image are subjected to preprocessing to remove unwanted background noises with the Butterworth filter and Viola Jones Algorithm, respectively. While considering the pre-processed EEG signal, features such as EWFS-transform, wavelet features, and CSP-based features are extracted. In the proposed EWFS-transform, the window function is modified by using the frequency function and updated STFT. Conversely, the features including SE-AMM-EST-based features;LGXP and GLCM are extracted while considering the preprocessed face image. In the proposed SE-AMM-EST-based features, the mean of shape is updated and covariance in PCA for extracting texture-based features. In order to extract redundant free essential features, AMIG-based feature fusion is proposed. This paper put forward an embedded scheme to execute image watermarking in light of the discrete wavelet transform (DWT), singular value decomposition (SVD) and Charge System Search (CSS) method. In the proposed scheme, Charge System Search technique is applied to advance the multiple scaling factors (MSFs). To approve the proposed scheme, six different images are used to inspect its performance and its outcomes are likewise contrasted with the past work announced in writing. information security has emerged as a crucial consideration over the past decade due to escalating cyber security threats,with Internet of Things(IoT)security gaining particular attention due to its role in data communication across various ***,IoT devices,typically low-powered,are susceptible to cyber ***,blockchain has emerged as a robust solution to secure these devices due to its decentralised ***,the fusion of blockchain and IoT technologies is challenging due to performance bottlenecks,network scalability limitations,and blockchain-specific security ***,on the other hand,is a recently emerged information security solution that has great potential to secure low-powered IoT *** study aims to identify blockchain-specific vulnerabilities through changes in network behaviour,addressing a significant research gap and aiming to mitigate future cybersecurity *** blockchain and IoT technologies presents challenges,including performance bottlenecks,network scalability issues,and unique security *** paper analyses potential security weaknesses in blockchain and their impact on network *** developed a real IoT test system utilising three prevalent blockchain applications to conduct *** results indicate that Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)attacks on low-powered,blockchain-enabled IoT sensor networks cause measurable anomalies in network and device performance,specifically:(1)an average increase in CPU core usage to 34.32%,(2)a reduction in hash rates by up to 66%,(3)an increase in batch timeout by up to 14.28%,and(4)an increase in block latency by up to 11.1%.These findings suggest potential strategies to counter future DDoS attacks on IoT networks.

The Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is a network that is constructed in regions that are inaccessible to human *** widespread deployment of wireless micro sensors will make it possible to conduct accurate environmental monitoring for a use in both civil and military *** make use of these data to monitor and keep track of the physical data of the surrounding environment in order to ensure the sustainability of the *** data have to be picked up by the sensor,and then sent to the sink node where they may be *** nodes of the WSNs are powered by batteries,therefore they eventually run out of *** energy restriction has an effect on the network life span and environmental *** objective of this study is to further improve the Engroove Leach(EL)protocol’s energy efficiency so that the network can operate for a very long time while consuming the least amount of *** lifespan of WSNs is being extended often using clustering and routing *** Meta Inspired Hawks Fragment Optimization(MIHFO)system,which is based on passive clustering,is used in this study to do *** cluster head is chosen based on the nodes’residual energy,distance to neighbors,distance to base station,node degree,and node *** on distance,residual energy,and node degree,an algorithm known as Heuristic Wing Antfly Optimization(HWAFO)selects the optimum path between the cluster head and Base Station(BS).They examine the number of nodes that are active,their energy consumption,and the number of data packets that the BS *** overall experimentation is carried out under the MATLAB *** the analysis,it has been discovered that the suggested approach yields noticeably superior outcomes in terms of throughput,packet delivery and drop ratio,and average energy consumption.

Weed Classification Using Particle Swarm Optimization and Deep Learning Models

Weed is a plant that grows along with nearly allfield crops,including rice,wheat,cotton,millets and sugar cane,affecting crop yield and *** and accurate identification of all types of weeds is a challenging task for farmers in earlier stage of crop growth because of *** address this issue,an efficient weed classification model is proposed with the Deep Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)that implements automatic feature extraction and performs complex feature learning for image *** this work,weed images were trained using the proposed CNN model with evolutionary computing approach to classify the weeds based on the two publicly available weed *** Tamil Nadu Agricultural University(TNAU)dataset used as afirst dataset that consists of 40 classes of weed images and the other dataset is from Indian Council of Agriculture Research–Directorate of Weed Research(ICAR-DWR)which contains 50 classes of weed *** effective Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)technique is applied in the proposed CNN to automa-tically evolve and improve its classification *** proposed model was evaluated and compared with pre-trained transfer learning models such as GoogLeNet,AlexNet,Residual neural Network(ResNet)and Visual Geometry Group Network(VGGNet)for weed *** work shows that the performance of the PSO assisted proposed CNN model is significantly improved the success rate by 98.58%for TNAU and 97.79%for ICAR-DWR weed datasets.

Data centers are being distributed worldwide by cloud service providers(CSPs)to save energy costs through efficient workload alloca-tion *** CSPs are challenged by the significant rise in user demands due to their extensive energy consumption during workload *** research studies have examined distinct operating cost mitigation techniques for geo-distributed data centers(DCs).However,oper-ating cost savings during workload processing,which also considers string-matching techniques in geo-distributed DCs,remains *** this research,we propose a novel string matching-based geographical load balanc-ing(SMGLB)technique to mitigate the operating cost of the geo-distributed *** primary goal of this study is to use a string-matching algorithm(i.e.,Boyer Moore)to compare the contents of incoming workloads to those of documents that have already been processed in a data center.A successful match prevents the global load balancer from sending the user’s request to a data center for processing and displaying the results of the previously processed workload to the user to save *** the contrary,if no match can be discovered,the global load balancer will allocate the incoming workload to a specific DC for processing considering variable energy prices,the number of active servers,on-site green energy,and traces of incoming *** results of numerical evaluations show that the SMGLB can minimize the operating expenses of the geo-distributed data centers more than the existing workload distribution techniques.

Brain signal analysis from electroencephalogram(EEG)recordings is the gold standard for diagnosing various neural disorders especially epileptic *** signals are highly chaotic compared to normal brain signals and thus can be identified from EEG *** the current seizure detection and classification landscape,most models primarily focus on binary classification—distinguishing between seizure and non-seizure *** effective for basic detection,these models fail to address the nuanced stages of seizures and the intervals between *** identification of per-seizure or interictal stages and the timing between seizures is crucial for an effective seizure alert *** granularity is essential for improving patient-specific interventions and developing proactive seizure management *** study addresses this gap by proposing a novel AI-based approach for seizure stage classification using a Deep Convolutional Neural Network(DCNN).The developed model goes beyond traditional binary classification by categorizing EEG recordings into three distinct classes,thus providing a more detailed analysis of seizure *** enhance the model’s performance,we have optimized the DCNN using two advanced techniques:the Stochastic Gradient Algorithm(SGA)and the evolutionary Genetic Algorithm(GA).These optimization strategies are designed to fine-tune the model’s accuracy and ***,k-fold cross-validation ensures the model’s reliability and generalizability across different data *** and validated on the Bonn EEG data sets,the proposed optimized DCNN model achieved a test accuracy of 93.2%,demonstrating its ability to accurately classify EEG *** summary,the key advancement of the present research lies in addressing the limitations of existing models by providing a more detailed seizure classification system,thus potentially enhancing the effectiveness of real-time seizure prediction and management systems in clinic
