A Base Station Deployment Algorithm for Wireless Positioning Considering Dynamic Obstacles

In the context of security systems,adequate signal coverage is paramount for the communication between security personnel and the accurate positioning of *** studies focus on optimizing base station deployment under the assumption of static obstacles,aiming to maximize the perception coverage of wireless RF(Radio Frequency)signals and reduce positioning blind ***,in practical security systems,obstacles are subject to change,necessitating the consideration of base station deployment in dynamic ***,research in this area still needs to be *** paper proposes a Dynamic Indoor Environment Beacon Deployment Algorithm(DIE-BDA)to address this *** algorithm considers the dynamic alterations in obstacle locations within the designated *** determines the requisite number of base stations,the requisite time,and the area’s practical and overall signal coverage *** experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm can calculate the deployment strategy in 0.12 s following a change in obstacle *** results show that the algorithm in this paper requires 0.12 s to compute the deployment strategy after the positions of obstacles *** 13 base stations,it achieves an effective coverage rate of 93.5%and an overall coverage rate of 97.75%.The algorithm can rapidly compute a revised deployment strategy in response to changes in obstacle positions within security systems,thereby ensuring the efficacy of signal coverage.

The explosion of the novel phenomenon of the combination of computer vision and Natural language processing is playing a vital role in converting the ordinary world into a more technological pool. Natural language processing and computer vision are the vanguard of Artificial intelligence with the enormous potential currently ruling more fields. The trending Accelerated research of the NLP and CV combo are cancer screening, surgical simulation, visual properties description, visual retrieval, visual description, etc. Video captioning is a task of localizing the event and various features are extracted from the particular event and then the description of the entire event is performed with Natural languages using various techniques. The task of video captioning has some evolution of various techniques from Traditional methods to Deep learning. Currently, Deep learning techniques are ruling the field. Several models are being proposed for the better enhancement of the video captioning task with the default Encoder-Decoder framework and some models with the variance of Attention mechanism and Transfer learning etc., The Attainment of every technique and the accuracy of the generated results are highly dependent on the nature of the problem, diversity, performance of chosen dataset and construction of the technique with various layers, and the amount of data split for train, validate, and test. The Nong Han Chaloem Phrakiat Lotus Park is a tourist attraction and a source of learning regarding lotus ***,as a training area,it lacks appeal and learning motivation due to its conventional presentation of information regarding lotus *** current study introduced the concept of smart learning in this setting to increase interest and motivation for *** neural networks(CNNs)were used for the classification of lotus plant species,for use in the development of a mobile application to display details about each *** scope of the study was to classify 11 species of lotus plants using the proposed CNN model based on different techniques(augmentation,dropout,and L2)and hyper parameters(dropout and epoch number).The expected outcome was to obtain a high-performance CNN model with reduced total parameters compared to using three different pre-trained CNN models(Inception V3,VGG16,and VGG19)as *** performance of the model was presented in terms of accuracy,F1-score,precision,and recall *** results showed that the CNN model with the augmentation,dropout,and L2 techniques at a dropout value of 0.4 and an epoch number of 30 provided the highest testing accuracy of *** best proposed model was more accurate than the pre-trained CNN models,especially compared to Inception *** addition,the number of total parameters was reduced by approximately 1.80–2.19 *** findings demonstrated that the proposed model with a small number of total parameters had a satisfactory degree of classification accuracy.

Integration of EfficientNetB0 and Machine Learning for Fingerprint Classification

A fingerprint is a common form of biometric technology used in human identification. The classification of fingerprints is crucial in identification systems because it significantly reduces the time required to identify a person and allows for the possibility of using fingerprints to distinguish between genders and identify individuals. Fingerprints are the most reliable identifiers because they are unique and impossible to fake. As a method of personal identification, fingerprints remain the best and most trustworthy. Fingerprint classification is crucial in a wide variety of settings, such as airports, banks, and emergencies involving explosives and natural disasters. This study proposes a deep learning strategy for determining whether a fingerprint belongs to a male or female person. With the help of pre-trained convolutional neural networks (CNN) in computer vision and an extremely powerful tool that has achieved significant success in image classification and pattern recognition. This work includes the use of the SOCOFing fingerprint dataset for training and employing a state-of-the-art model for feature extraction called EfficientNetB0, which was trained on the ImageNet dataset. Then feeding the extracted features into a principal component analysis (PCA) to decrease the dimension of these features and random forest RF classifier for fingerprint classification. Lastly, the tests showed that the proposed strategy outperformed the previous categorization methods in terms of accuracy (99.91%), speed for execution time, and efficiency. © 2023 Slovene Society Informatika. Mental stress has been a major issue among all age groups today. This is more like a stigma in the society where people don't even want to talk about it openly leading to severe health issues. Nowadays, people are deeply engaged with social media platforms for connection and self-expression of their emotions. They express all these through posts, photos, and comments. Thus, social media platforms can help in predicting the mental state and well-being of an individual. Prediction of a person's mental health can help to undertake some preventive measures. Various researchers have worked around this topic but there is no evidence of utilizing the most active web of people for obtaining the most accurate results. Machine Learning (ML) algorithms are used in this research study to identify whether a person is mentally stressed or not based on the social media data obtained from the user's post or by using a text input of around hundred words from users related to their day-to-day activities. This research study has used a decision tree, random forest, and Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (referred as BERT onwards) model classifier to train models. This study has used a dataset of Reddit (a social media platform) posts text data for training the models. The primary objective is to compare the efficacy of various machine learning models in predicting mental health based on social media data. © 2024 IEEE.

SLOG: smartphone-based semantic lifelogging framework for digital prosthetic memory development

The advancements in sensors, processing, storage and networking technologies have turned smartphone into de facto lifelogging device. Realizing the lifelogging potential of smartphone, researchers have postulated with smartphone-based lifelogging systems with varying capabilities of capturing and storing information about peoples’ daily life activities, behaviors, interactions, locations, environments, etc., into their lifelog archives. However, the systems are lacking with several capturing, storing, retrieving and design issues, importantly not organizing the lifelog information with the same semantics as they exist in the real world and encoded in human episodic memory. The semantic organization of lifelog information will develop a true digital prosthetic memory to solve problems in different real-world domains including memory augmentation. In this paper, we have presented the architecture and implementation of Semantic LifelOGging (SLOG) framework for smartphone-based semantic lifelogging using Semantic Web technologies. The SLOG framework incorporates smartphone sensors and processing capabilities, and Semantic Web technologies to develop a semantically enriched digital prosthetic memory on smartphone. The semantic lifelog data model is developed by extending SmartOntoSensor ontology with relevant concepts and properties to represent, store and relate lifelog and contextual information. The semantic lifelog data model will provide contextual semantics to organize, annotate and relate lifelog information like human episodic memory and provide enough contextual cues to recall lifelog information like associative recall in human memory. The proof-of-concept applications are developed to show practicality of the SLOG framework. Emotions are a vital semantic part of human correspondence. Emotions are significant for human correspondence as well as basic for human–computer cooperation. Viable correspondence between people is possibly achieved when both the importance and the emotion of the correspondence are perceived by all groups included. Understanding the significance of language has generally been concentrated on in natural language processing (NLP) as a semantic examination. In NLP, the text can be handled appropriately for classification. Emotion detection from facial emotion is the subfield of social signal processing applied in a wide assortment of regions, explicitly for human and PC collaboration. Many researchers have proposed various approaches, generally utilizing machine learning concepts. Automatic emotion recognition (AER) is significant for working with consistent intuitiveness between a person and a smart device toward fully acknowledging an intelligent society. Many researchers examined cross-lingual and multilingual speech emotion as a stage toward language-free emotion acknowledgment in natural speech. In the present work, we are proposing a deep learning-based AER system using four openly accessible datasets, namely Basic Arabic Vocal Emotions Dataset (BAVED), Acted Emotional Speech Dynamic Database (AESDD), Urdu written in Latin/Roman Script (URDU), and Toronto Emotional Speech Set (TESS), by utilizing the Jupyter notebook and a Python library for music and audio synthesis named Librosa. The experimental results exhibited that the proposed approach achieves better than the existing approaches, i.e., the accuracy of the proposed system with the URDU dataset is 96.24%, the TESS dataset is 99.10%, the AESDD dataset is 65.97%, and the BAVED dataset is 73.12%. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

An Empirical Survey on the Classification Strategies for Automated Alzheimer’s Disease

The early Alzheimer’s disease (AD) classification is highly important as this neuro-degenerative disease causes severe problems particularly, loss of memory among the patients. In addition, classifying Normal Control (NC), Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and AD in time assists the patient to undergo treatments in the initial period of the disease. Hence, it is necessary to develop a trust worthy categorization model to classify the patients with or without AD. One of principal modalities commonly used for AD classification is the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the analysis of which achieved improved classification performance in categorizing the stages of AD. Hence, this review paper presents the detailed survey of 55 research articles showing different strategies to classify AD. The two important categories of the research papers are the methods using machine learning strategies, and the methods using deep learning strategies. The papers are classified based on various modalities, datasets, performance indices, and the software tools used for implementation. In addition to this, various research gaps and the challenges associated with the existing works of AD classification are discussed. Organ donation and transplantation have long been critical medical procedures, but they face numerous challenges, including scarcity, malpractices, and complex allocation processes. Also, they are vulnerable to the single point of failure problem due to centralization. Unlike existing blockchain solutions that only cover aspects like donor-recipient matching or medical record storage, our approach integrates hospitals into the system to ensure fair allocation of organs. The proposed organ donation decentralized app Organ Harbour utilizes Ethereum blockchain-based solution to automate this process in decentralized way, also it ensures transparency, privacy, security, and trustworthiness. This ensures secure and transparent registration of donor-patient information, including medical IDs, blood types, and organ details. Organ Harbour streamlines the process, eliminating third-party involvement and reducing transplantation costs. Moreover, by leveraging blockchain's immutability and smart contract capabilities, the system enhances data integrity and prediction accuracy. Overall, this research presents an approach to organ donation and transplantation, fostering security, transparency, and an efficient healthcare ecosystem. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
