A trajectory-level robot skill learning method based on fuzzy systems

Learning from demonstration(LfD) allows for the effective transfer of human manipulation skills to a robot by building a model that represents these skills based on a limited number of demonstrated ***,a skilllearning model that can comprehensively satisfy multiple requirements,such as computational complexity,modeling accuracy,trajectory smoothness,and robustness,is still ***,this work aims to provide such a model by employing fuzzy ***,we introduce an LfD model named Takagi-Sugeno-Kang fuzzy system-based movement primitives(TSKFMPs),which exploits the advantages of the fuzzy theory for effective robotic imitation learning of human *** work formulates the TSK fuzzy system and gradient descent(GD) as imitation learning models,leveraging recent advancements in GD-based optimization for fuzzy *** study takes a two-step strategy.(ⅰ) The input-output relationships of the model are established using TSK fuzzy systems based on demonstration *** this way,the skill is encoded by the model parameter in the latent space.(ⅱ) GD is used to optimize the model parameter to increase the modeling accuracy and trajectory *** further explain how learned trajectories are adapted to new task scenarios through local *** conduct multiple tests using an open dataset to validate our method,and the results demonstrate performance comparable with those of other ***,we implement it in a real-world case study.

A Security Model of Multihospital FHIR Database Authorization Based on Secret Sharing and Blockchain

Secret sharing (SS) is a threshold technology that shares a secret value by generating and distributing n shares in the way that a set of any k shares can recover the secret. On the other hand, blockchain is a decentralized system establishing a secure data structure for storing data in the form of a hash chain. Combining SS and blockchain is definitely a promising paradigm in the data security field. Recently, the fast healthcare interoperability resources (FHIRs) standard is defined for medical data exchange across various medical institutions. In this article, we combine SS, ElGamal's encryption/decryption, and blockchain to propose a multihospital FHIR database authorization (MFDA). To achieve a secure MFDA, the group-based SS (GSS) and the notion using GSS on exponent (referred to as EGSS) are proposed. The secrets of GSS and EGSS have the discrete logarithm problem (DLP) relation, on which the secrets can be used as ElGamal's private key and public key, respectively. Also, their shares will have DLP relation. By uploading public shares of EGSS on blockchain and using private shares of GSS in a private network, we can recover ElGamal's public key from a deployed smart contract on blockchain and recover ElGamal's private key from a qualified set. Meantime, when recovering private key, the private shares of GSS can be authenticated by public shares on blockchain to check tampering and corrupted of private shares during the communication in a private network. Theorems, examples, and experiments demonstrate that the proposed MFDA has efficient and secure database authorization. © 2014 IEEE.

Optimization of Lane-changing Advisory in Mixed Traffic of Connected Vehicles and Human-driven Vehicles at Expressway Bottlenecks

Lane closure due to events such as accidents creates bottlenecks on expressways. The mandatory lane changes of merging vehicles lead to congestion. As the cyber-physical system (CPS) develops, mixed traffic consisting of connected vehicles (CVs) and human-driven vehicles (HVs) has emerged. CVs can receive lane-changing (LC) advisories and complete merging to alleviate congestion. Most existing studies assume CVs can timely and exactly follow LC advisories, which is not realistic with human drivers. This study develops an LC advisory model for CVs, whose response time and compliance degrees are considered, at an expressway bottleneck with lane closure under mixed traffic of CVs and HVs. The LC strategies are optimized for CVs to minimize the total delay of CVs and HVs approaching the bottleneck. The constraints include the domains of decision variables, vehicle passing states at the bottleneck, vehicle kinematics, implementation of LC advisories, LC safety, the maximum number of LC manoeuvres, the minimum time interval between LC advisories, the potential LC CVs, and the evolution of vehicle states. The simulation-based method is applied to predict vehicle delay, which is formulated as an implicit function of the LC strategies for CVs. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is designed for solutions. The numerical studies validate the advantages of the proposed model. The sensitivity analysis shows that: 1) the critical CV penetration rate is 60%, below which the marginal benefits are significant with increasing CV penetration rates;and 2) the consideration of the response time and the compliance degree of CVs makes a great difference. Games have been the perfect test beds for artificial intelligence (AI) research for the characteristics that widely exist in real-world scenarios. Learning and optimization, decision-making in dynamic and uncertain environments, game theory, planning and scheduling, design, and education are common research areas shared between games and real-world problems. Numerous open-source games or game-based environments have been implemented to study AI. In addition to single- or multiplayer, collaborative, and adversarial games, there has also been growing interest in implementing platforms for creative design in recent years. Those platforms provide ideal benchmarks for exploring and comparing AI ideas and techniques. This article reviews the games and game-based platforms for AI research, provides guidance on matching particular types of AI with suitable games for testing and matching particular needs in games with suitable AI techniques, discusses the research trend induced by the evolution of those games and platforms, and gives an outlook. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, the global repercussions of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants have posed significant challenges to various areas, including the economic order, transportation, healthcare, and education, and the mitigation and prevention of SARS-CoV-2 and other infectious diseases have received much attention. This paper tries to develop a rational and effective intervention strategy in response to the dynamic evolution of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic. To address this issue, we first use the SEIR model to analyze the population distribution under the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic, and then integrate a deep Q-neural network (DQN) to reflect an economic quantification model contextualized within the SARS-CoV-2 scenario. Next, we propose an evolutionary deep reinforcement learning to generate an optimal and adaptive intervention strategy, by optimizing the weight sequence of the DQN. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method in maximizing economic benefits, while ensuring the uninterrupted functionality of medical institutions. Importantly, the learned intervention strategy exhibits the applicability to other infectious diseases. © 2024 IEEE.

Federated learning has been used extensively in business inno-vation scenarios in various *** research adopts the federated learning approach for the first time to address the issue of bank-enterprise information asymmetry in the credit assessment ***,this research designs a credit risk assessment model based on federated learning and feature selection for micro and small enterprises(MSEs)using multi-dimensional enterprise data and multi-perspective enterprise *** proposed model includes four main processes:namely encrypted entity alignment,hybrid feature selection,secure multi-party computation,and global model ***,a two-step feature selection algorithm based on wrapper and filter is designed to construct the optimal feature set in multi-source heterogeneous data,which can provide excellent accuracy and *** addition,a local update screening strategy is proposed to select trustworthy model parameters for aggregation each time to ensure the quality of the global *** results of the study show that the model error rate is reduced by 6.22%and the recall rate is improved by 11.03%compared to the algorithms commonly used in credit risk research,significantly improving the ability to identify ***,the business operations of commercial banks are used to confirm the potential of the proposed model for real-world implementation.

RandoMix: a mixed sample data augmentation method with multiple mixed modes

Data augmentation plays a crucial role in enhancing the robustness and performance of machine learning models across various domains. In this study, we introduce a novel mixed-sample data augmentation method called RandoMix. RandoMix is specifically designed to simultaneously address robustness and diversity challenges. It leverages a combination of linear and mask mixed modes, introducing flexibility in candidate selection and weight adjustments. We evaluate the effectiveness of RandoMix on diverse datasets, including CIFAR-10/100, Tiny-ImageNet, ImageNet, and Google Speech Commands. Our results demonstrate its superior erformance compared to existing techniques such as Mixup, CutMix, Fmix, and ResizeMix. Notably, RandoMix excels in enhancing model robustness against adversarial noise, natural noise, and sample occlusion. The comprehensive experimental results and insights into parameter tuning underscore the potential of RandoMix as a versatile and effective data augmentation method. Adjusting Logit in Gaussian Form for Long-Tailed Visual Recognition

It is not uncommon that real-world data are distributed with a long tail. For such data, the learning of deep neural networks becomes challenging because it is hard to classify tail classes correctly. In the literature, several existing methods have addressed this problem by reducing classifier bias, provided that the features obtained with long-tailed data are representative enough. However, we find that training directly on long-tailed data leads to uneven embedding space. That is, the embedding space of head classes severely compresses that of tail classes, which is not conducive to subsequent classifier learning. This article therefore studies the problem of long-tailed visual recognition from the perspective of feature level. We introduce feature augmentation to balance the embedding distribution. The features of different classes are perturbed with varying amplitudes in Gaussian form. Based on these perturbed features, two novel logit adjustment methods are proposed to improve model performance at a modest computational overhead. Subsequently, the distorted embedding spaces of all classes can be calibrated. In such balanced-distributed embedding spaces, the biased classifier can be eliminated by simply retraining the classifier with class-balanced sampling data. Extensive experiments conducted on benchmark datasets demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed method over the state-of-the-art ones. © 2020 IEEE.

Evolutionary reinforcement learning algorithms (ERLs), which combine evolutionary algorithms (EAs) with reinforcement learning (RL), have demonstrated significant success in enhancing RL performance. However, most ERLs rely heavily on Gaussian mutation operators to generate new individuals. When the standard deviation is too large or small, this approach will result in the production of poor or highly similar offspring. Such outcomes can be detrimental to the learning process of the RL agent, as too many poor or similar experiences are generated by these individuals. In order to alleviate these issues, this paper proposes an Adaptive Evolutionary Reinforcement Learning (AERL) method that adaptively adjusts both the standard deviation and the evaluation process. By tracking the performance of new individuals, AERL maintains the mutation strength within a suitable range without the need for additional gradient computations. Moreover, the proposed AERL approach early terminates unnecessary evaluations and discards experiences arising from poor individuals, thereby resulting in enhanced learning efficiency. Empirical assessments conducted on a variety of continuous control problems demonstrate the effectiveness of the AERL method. © 2024 International Foundation for Autonomous Agents and Multiagent systems.
