Improvement of data management about weather in Indonesia is very supportive of the need for weather information. Currently, the weather information that is disseminated to the public is only based on sensor location points that are spread across Indonesia. However, supporting data generated from these sensors is only limited to certain areas. We hence develop a database system that can help collect weather information automatically via Twitter. This facilitates the Indonesian people in knowing weather information based on the completeness of data from sensor data and Twitter. The steps from the database that are built will be very helpful in collecting data about the weather throughout Indonesia. The basic step that we use in our database are conceptual, logical and physical design. The information obtained in this study is very important for efficient and effective data collection to achieve real-time automation of weather information. © 2021 IEEE.

Directed graphs are a natural model for many phenomena, in particular scientific knowledge graphs such as molecular interaction or chemical reaction networks that define cellular signaling relationships. In these situations, source nodes typically have distinct biophysical properties from sinks. Due to their ordered and unidirectional relationships, many such networks also have hierarchical and multiscale structure. However, the majority of methods performing node- and edge-level tasks in machine learning do not take these properties into account, and thus have not been leveraged effectively for scientific tasks such as cellular signaling network inference. We propose a new framework called Directed Scattering Autoencoder (DSAE) which uses a directed version of a geometric scattering transform, combined with the non-linear dimensionality reduction properties of an autoencoder and the geometric properties of the hyperbolic space to learn latent hierarchies. We show this method outperforms numerous others on tasks such as embedding directed graphs and learning cellular signaling networks. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Artificial intelligence (AI)-driven methods can vastly improve the historically costly drug design process, with various generative models already in widespread use. Generative models for de novo drug design, in particular, focus on the creation of novel biological compounds entirely from scratch, representing a promising future direction. Rapid development in the field, combined with the inherent complexity of the drug design process, creates a difficult landscape for new researchers to enter. In this survey, we organize de novo drug design into two overarching themes: small molecule and protein generation. Within each theme, we identify a variety of subtasks and applications, highlighting important datasets, benchmarks, and model architectures and comparing the performance of top models. We take a broad approach to AI-driven drug design, allowing for both micro-level comparisons of various methods within each subtask and macro-level observations across different fields. We discuss parallel challenges and approaches between the two applications and highlight future directions for AI-driven de novo drug design as a whole. Food sustainability is still one of the main priorities for many countries as it contributes to the economy and stability of the nation. For government in many countries whose peoples consumes rice as its staple food, food self-sufficiency initiatives highly depend on accurate prediction of paddy field map. Mapping paddy field task is a challenging problem which cannot be handled manually especially when the paddy fields are spread out in very wide geographical areas such as those in Indonesia. Fortunately, wide availability of satellite imagery and the advent of deep learning technology in the past ten years have made it possible to improve efficiency of most parts of those manual works involving image semantic segmentation tasks. However, satellite image-based semantic segmentation is a challenging task. High object complexity, cloud partial occlusion, larger image size than a computer memory can stored can hinder accuracy of the image segmentation results. This paper presents a method for paddy field map generating using semantic image segmentation approach in which Pyramid Scene Parsing Net model is used for segmenting satellite imagery. The generated paddy map can be used as a basis for decision-making, especially in the agricultural sector. Analysis of local land use/land cover dynamics. The results of his experiments using SPOT 6 satellite imagery from the Pahung region of Central Kalimantan achieved average training accuracy, best training accuracy and test accuracy of 0.85, 0.86 and 0.89 respectively. These results indicated that the semantic segmentation model is suitable for addressing the same task in different crops.

A number of methods have been proposed for causal effect estimation, yet few have demonstrated efficacy in handling data with complex structures, such as images. To fill this gap, we propose Causal Multi-task Deep Ensemble (CMDE), a novel framework that learns both shared and group-specific information from the study population. We provide proofs demonstrating equivalency of CDME to a multi-task Gaussian process (GP) with a coregionalization kernel a priori. Compared to multi-task GP, CMDE efficiently handles high-dimensional and multi-modal covariates and provides pointwise uncertainty estimates of causal effects. We evaluate our method across various types of datasets and tasks and find that CMDE outperforms state-of-the-art methods on a majority of these tasks. © 2023, CC BY.

Microsatellite instability (MSI) is a pivotal genetic marker influencing the efficacy of immunotherapy in colorectal cancer. Traditional MSI examination often requires additional genetic or immunohistochemical tests, whereas histology images, widely available in colorectal cancer diagnosis, offer a valuable alternative for MSI prediction. Although Transformer-based models have demonstrated promising outcomes in predicting MSI from histology images, they are hampered by traditional local attention mechanisms that struggle to capture long-range interdependencies and establish a comprehensive global receptive field. In this study, we introduce DiNAT-MSI, a novel framework for histology-based MSI prediction that incorporates the Dilated Neighborhood Attention Transformer (DiNAT). This model enhances global context recognition and substantially expands receptive fields, all without additional computational burden. Our results demonstrate that DiNAT-MSI achieves a superior patientwise AUROC compared to ResNet18 and Swin Transformer, along with commendable explainability. Our work not only illustrates a more accessible diagnostic tool for leveraging histological data but also underscores the potential of Transformerbased models with sophisticated attention designs in advancing precision medicine for colorectal cancer patients.

Summary: Named entity recognition (NER) is a fundamental part of extracting information from documents in biomedical applications. A notable advantage of NER is its consistency in extracting biomedical entities in a document context. Although existing document NER models show consistent predictions, they still do not meet our expectations. We investigated whether the adjectives and prepositions within an entity cause a low label consistency, which results in inconsistent predictions. In this paper, we present our method, ConNER, which enhances the label dependency of modifiers (e.g., adjectives and prepositions) to achieve higher label agreement. ConNER refines the draft labels of the modifiers to improve the output representations of biomedical entities. The effectiveness of our method is demonstrated on four popular biomedical NER datasets;in particular, its efficacy is proved on two datasets with 7.5–8.6% absolute improvements in the F1 score. We interpret that our ConNER method is effective on datasets that have intrinsically low label consistency. In the qualitative analysis, we demonstrate how our approach makes the NER model generate consistent predictions. © 2022, CC BY-SA.

Now in the era of big data, many are applying information methods accurately especially by social media. The aims of this study to classify the weather based on Twitter automatically using text mining by using Support Vector Machine (SVM), MultinomialNaive Bayes (MNB), and Logistic Regression (LR) method. The experimental results show that SVM substantially outperforms various other machine learning algorithms for the task of text classification with an accuracy value of 93%. This result proves that SVM is very suitable for text categorization. We use clustering technique to read the pattern in customers’ opinion about the restaurant based on some measurement variables.

We present a gene-level regulatory model, single-cell ATAC + RNA linking (SCARlink), which predicts single-cell gene expression and links enhancers to target genes using multi-ome (scRNA-seq and scATAC–seq co-assay) sequencing data. The approach uses regularized Poisson regression on tile-level accessibility data to jointly model all regulatory effects at a gene locus, avoiding the limitations of pairwise gene–peak correlations and dependence on peak calling. SCARlink outperformed existing gene scoring methods for imputing gene expression from chromatin accessibility across high-coverage multi-ome datasets while giving comparable to improved performance on low-coverage datasets. Shapley value analysis on trained models identified cell-type-specific gene enhancers that are validated by promoter capture Hi-C and are 11× to 15× and 5× to 12× enriched in fine-mapped eQTLs and fine-mapped genome-wide association study (GWAS) variants, respectively. We further show that SCARlink-predicted and observed gene expression vectors provide a robust way to compute a chromatin potential vector field to enable developmental trajectory analysis.
