Large language models (LLMs) have garnered significant attention lately, and one particular implementation that has captivated users is ChatGPT, a first-of-its kind innovation that sparks intense debates among professionals regarding its ethical boundaries, especially after it was released for public use. Some of the debates are ongoing, with several people getting more used to this tool and some losing touch with several ethical concerns. Thus, it is crucial to explore the early professional’s perspectives surrounding ChatGPT to comprehend its potential impact on the educational sector and, in particular, society in general. This research aims to address this knowledge gap by employing data mining techniques on LinkedIn to analyze ChatGPT-related discussions and provide a comprehensive textual examination. The dataset for this investigation consists of 166 records written in English by LinkedIn users discussing ChatGPT in its early stage. The study utilized VOSviewer software to clean, analyze, mine, and visualize the data. Among the sample, it was observed that 49% of the users are PhD holders, predominantly with experience in scientific research and data science fields. Hence, the findings reveal that issues such as plagiarism, references, citations, manuscripts, papers, and literature reviews stand out as the major concerns. These results suggest that while ChatGPT can contribute to academic progress by fostering new knowledge, thoughts, and ideas, it can also facilitate academic misconduct, including plagiarism and inaccurate information dissemination. Therefore, this paper also provides discussions on the implications and ethical issues of ChatGPT. In particular, it is imperative to establish clear ethical boundaries and guidelines for the appropriate use of LLMs in academic settings. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

Artificial Intelligence(AI)is finding increasing application in healthcare *** learning systems are utilized for monitoring patient health through the use of IoT sensor,which keep track of the physiological state by way of various health ***,early detection of any disease or derangement can aid doctors in saving patients’***,there are some challenges associated with predicting health status using the common algorithms,such as time requirements,chances of errors,and improper *** propose an Artificial Krill Herd based on the Random Forest(AKHRF)technique for monitoring patients’health and eliciting an optimal prescription based on their health *** begin with,various patient datasets were collected and trained into the system using IoT *** a result,the framework developed includes four processes:preprocessing,feature extraction,classification,and result ***,preprocessing removes errors,noise,and missing values from the dataset,whereas feature extraction extracts the relevant ***,in the classification layer,we updated the fitness function of the krill herd to classify the patient’s health status and also generate a *** found that the results fromthe proposed framework are comparable to the results from other state-of-the-art techniques in terms of sensitivity,specificity,Area under the Curve(AUC),accuracy,precision,recall,and F-measure.

In this paper, we show the practical application of two recently proposed Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) methods, namely the Stable Preference Ordering Towards the Ideal Solution (SPOTIS) and the Reference Ideal Method (RIM) methods. Both of these methods can utilize the Expected Solution Point (ESP) concept, which allows it to easily reflect the decision-maker's or the customer's preferences and expectations. We show the comparison of those methods in the practical study case of laptop choice for the customer with specific needs and expectations for the hardware expressed using ESP. The comparison also includes rankings built toward an optimal solution to underline the necessity of such an approach as the Expected Solution Point. We also use the recently developed Ranking Comparison (RANCOM) method to identify criteria weights to include customer preferences in the weights. The paper also contains a broad discussion of the obtained results and limitations of the presented methods. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. In every decision-making problem which involves two or more criteria, there is to identify the relative importance of those criteria in order to make a proper decision. Very often, a decision-makers employee, for this purpose, subjective weighting methods, such as Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) or RANking COMparison (RANCOM). However, there is no simple way to compare the quality of the weights identification using different methods. To address this issue, this paper proposes a simple but efficient Weights Similarity Coefficient, which allows us to evaluate the relative performance of different subjective weighting methods. Furthermore, we propose a framework that utilizes the proposed coefficient in order to provide more complete comparison results. To demonstrate the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed framework, a case study is performed to compare two popular weighting methods: AHP and RANCOM. The results of the comparison prove that proposed coefficient with the combination of the proposed framework is an efficient instrument for weighing methods comparison. © 2023 The Authors. Data normalization is essential in many fields, such as speech recognition, deep learning, machine learning, and optimization. Many researchers focus on developing various normalization techniques, such as min-max, score-based, maximum, vector, or sum, on processing data efficiently. However, classical normalization methods may need to be improved in Multi-Criteria Decision-Analysis (MCDA), where criteria are often non-monotonic. This paper proposes a new approach for identifying and normalizing non-monotonic criteria in MCDA. The method combines a stochastic optimization technique - a genetic algorithm - with normalization based on triangular fuzzy numbers. This paper compares the proposed approach with classical normalization techniques, such as min-max, maximum, vector, or non-linear, using the classical MCDA method - the Technique of Order Preference Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The study results showed that the proposed approach to normalizing non-monotonic criteria yields a better match between decision preferences and the actual reference model than traditional normalization methods. Optimization using the genetic algorithm helps identify the means of triangular fuzzy numbers, which generate more accurate results. Analysis of the R2 coefficient confirms a very good fit of the proposed model. Therefore, the new non-linear normalization approach in MCDA presented in this work has great potential in adjusting decision preferences to non-monotonic criteria. Future research should continue on the accuracy of this approach in identifying non-linear decision models and apply it to other MCDA methods and real-world decision problems. © 2023 The Authors. The advent of the Internet, as well as the increasing use of various web applications, social media platforms, and the Internet of Things, are posing online threats to people. Moreover, with the growing dependence on Industry 4.0 operations, cybersecurity awareness and practices have become more important to organizations and countries than ever before. The current study intends to evaluate cybersecurity practices and awareness at a local education service provider in Fiji. A quantitative methodology comprising an online survey was administered to collect responses from its students who are employees from 22 different organizations in Fiji. The results of the study showed that the employees in Fiji have an average awareness of cyber hygiene. The highly positive correlation value between employee response to cybersecurity practices and awareness indicates that some organizations follow good cyber hygiene. The results from this study indicate that organizations in Fiji need to be more vigilant to defend themselves from the raising cyber threats and vulnerabilities. © 2023 IEEE.

In the era of Internet of Things (IoT) and Federated Learning (FL), where distributed training models are essential, the FL paradigm has come into the spotlight for researchers. However, the inconsistency in the sources of client data and Non-Independent and Identically Distributed (Non-IID) heterogeneous characteristics lead to loss in model accuracy. Existing method which attempts to homogenize data distribution among clients based on Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) incurs high computation overheads on clients in IoT. In this paper, we propose a lightweight Feature Prototype Knowledge Transfer (FPKT) mechanism. By capturing the essence of data categories, FPKT generates pseudo-features without requiring the original data features, thereby efficiently enhancing model accuracy. We formally prove that FPKT resists Chosen Plaintext Attack (CPA) and experiments demonstrate that our scheme achieves a hundredfold increase in computational efficiency and improves model accuracy by up to 40%. © 2014 IEEE.

Background segmentation is an important step in analysis of histopathological images. It allows one to remove irrelevant regions and focus on the tissue of interest. However, background segmentation is challenging due to the variability of stain colors and intensity levels across different images, modalities, and magnification levels. In this paper, we present a learning-based model for histopathology background segmentation based on convolutional neural networks. We compare two multiresolution approaches to deal with the variability of magnification in histopathology images: (i) model that uses upscaling of smaller patches of the image, and (ii) model simultaneously trained on multiple resolution levels. Our model is characterized by solid performance both in multiresolution and multistain dyes (H &E and IHC), achieving good performance on publicly available dataset. The quantitative scores are, in terms of the Dice score, close to 94.71. The qualitative analysis presents strong performance on previously unseen cases from different distributions and various dyes. We freely release the model, weights, and ground-truth annotations to promote the open science and reproducible research. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
