Handheld computing systems or devices can be defined as exceptionally portable, independent information management and communication devices. Furthermore, handheld computing systems or devices can be seen as a small or pocket-sized computing device with a touch screen keyboard and input and output interface. According to the definition of handheld computing systems, numerous devices fit the description such as smartphones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and pagers. However, adult first- time users of computer systems face different issues in adopting the device and the literature reviewed shows that most of them have difficulties with the design, such as the touch screen. The negative views of technology devices by adult first-time users can be attributed to the difficulty in adapting to new technology. Weakness, incapacity, distrust of technology, absence of perceived value and trouble in understanding how to utilise the device are largely the main problems observed by adult first-time users of handheld computer systems. However, they could accept the use of the devices provided their needs are taken into consideration by the developers. The limitation of the research was that only adults in the age range of 55 to 91 in Gauteng in South Africa were chosen for this research. In recent years, interest in RISC-V computing architectures has moved from academic to mainstream, especially in the field of High Performance computing where energy limitations are increasingly a concern. As of this year, the first single board RISC-V CPUs implementing the finalized ratified vector specification are being released. The RISC-V vector specification follows in the tradition of vector processors found in the CDC STAR-100, the Cray-1, the Convex C-Series, and the NEC SX machines and accelerators. The family of vector processors offers support for variable-length array processing as opposed to the fixed-length processing functionality offered by SIMD. Vector processors offer opportunities to perform vector-chaining which allows temporary results to be used without the need to resolve memory *** this work, we use the Octo-Tiger multi-physics, multi-scale, 3D adaptive mesh refinement astrophysics application to study these early RISC-V chips with vector machine support. We report on our experience in porting this modern C++ code (which is built upon several open-source libraries such as HPX and Kokkos) to RISC-V. In addition, we show the impact of the RISC-V Vector extension on a RISC-V single board computer by implementing the std: experimental:simd interface and integrating it with our code. We also compare the application's performance, scalability, and power consumption on desktop-grade RISC-V computer to an A64FX *** results presented in this paper are part of a longer-term evaluation of RISC-V's viability for HPC applications.

Arrays of gate-defined semiconductor quantum dots are among the leading candidates for building scalable quantum processors. High-fidelity initialization, control, and readout of spin qubit registers require exquisite and targeted control over key Hamiltonian parameters that define the electrostatic environment. However, due to the tight gate pitch, capacitive crosstalk between gates hinders independent tuning of chemical potentials and interdot couplings. While virtual gates offer a practical solution, determining all the required cross-capacitance matrices accurately and efficiently in large quantum dot registers is an open challenge. Here, we establish a modular automated virtualization system (MAViS)—a general and modular framework for autonomously constructing a complete stack of multilayer virtual gates in real time. Our method employs machine learning techniques to rapidly extract features from two-dimensional charge stability diagrams. We then utilize computer vision and regression models to self-consistently determine all relative capacitive couplings necessary for virtualizing plunger and barrier gates in both low- and high-tunnel-coupling regimes. Using MAViS, we successfully demonstrate accurate virtualization of a dense two-dimensional array comprising ten quantum dots defined in a high-quality Ge/SiGe heterostructure. Our work offers an elegant and practical solution for the efficient control of large-scale semiconductor quantum dot systems.

The rapid adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies in renewable energy grids has significantly improved efficiency and scalability. However, this integration has also amplified cybersecurity risks, making conventional Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) insufficient against evolving cyber threats. This study proposes a novel AI-enhanced Intrusion Detection System (IDS) tailored for smart renewable energy grids, leveraging a multi-stage detection framework that integrates both supervised and unsupervised learning techniques. The proposed IDS combines Random Forest for signature-based detection and Autoencoders for anomaly-based threat identification, enabling real-time detection of both known and zero-day cyber threats. A comprehensive evaluation using real-world cyberattack datasets demonstrates that the system achieves a detection accuracy of 97.8 %, significantly reducing false positives compared to traditional IDS solutions. This work not only enhances the security and resilience of smart grids but also offers a scalable and adaptable cybersecurity framework for Industry 4.0 applications. The findings contribute to the advancement of AI-driven security mechanisms, ensuring the reliability of critical energy infrastructure in the face of sophisticated cyber threats.

The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is a fast developing field that seeks to use cutting-edge technologies to enhance the sustainability, efficiency, and safety of transportation networks. The IoV can gain greatly from integrating blockchain in terms of security, trust, decentralization, smart contracts, and data management. This paper presents the weakness of a blockchain based lightweight authentication and key agreement scheme for internet of vehicles(BLAIV) proposed by Zheng et al. [1]. By performing thorough security analysis we have observed that the BLAIV scheme is vulnerable to various security attacks. The main cause for the security attacks is the BLAIV scheme stores the security parameters in the Onboard unit(OBU) of vehicle, due to which the BLAIV scheme is vulnerable to various attacks like vehicle or OBU capture attacks, session key computation attacks, and impersonation attacks. The paper also suggests possible changes to improve the BLAIV scheme.

The narrow bandgap of semiconductors allows for thick, uniform Josephson junction barriers, potentially enabling reproducible, stable, and compact superconducting qubits. We study vertically stacked van der Waals Josephson junctions with semiconducting weak links, whose crystalline structures and clean interfaces offer a promising platform for quantum devices. We observe robust Josephson coupling across 2–12 nm (3–18 atomic layers) of semiconducting WSe2 and, notably, a crossover from proximity- to tunneling-type behavior with increasing weak link thickness. Building on these results, we fabricate a prototype all-crystalline merged-element transmon qubit with transmon frequency and anharmonicity closely matching design parameters. We demonstrate dispersive coupling between this transmon and a microwave resonator, highlighting the potential of crystalline superconductor-semiconductor structures for compact, tailored superconducting quantum devices. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) system based on the distributed architecture over multiple sub-swarms is very efficient for static multi-objective optimization, but has not been considered for solving dynamic multi-objective problems (DMOPs). Tracking the most effective solutions over time and ensuring good exploitation and exploration are the main challenges of solving DMOP. This study proposes a Dynamic Pareto bi-level Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization (DPb-MOPSO) algorithm including two parallel optimization levels. At the first level, all solutions are managed in a single search space. When a dynamic change is successfully detected in the objective values, the Pareto ranking operator is used to enable a multiple sub-swarm’ subdivisions and processing which drives the second level of enhanced exploitation. A dynamic handling strategy based on random detectors is used to track the changes of the objective function due to time-varying parameters. A response strategy consisting in re-evaluate all unimproved solutions and replacing them with newly generated ones is also implemented. The DPb-MOPSO system is tested on a set of DMOPs with different types of time-varying Pareto Optimal Set (POS) and Pareto Optimal Front (POF). Inverted generational distance (IGD), mean inverted generational distance (MIGD), and hypervolume difference (HVD) metrics are used to assess the DPb-MOPSO performances. Quantitative results are analyzed using Friedman's analysis of variance, while stability is analyzed using Lyapunov's theorem. The DPb-MOPSO is more robust than several dynamic multi-objective evolutionary algorithms in solving 21 complex problems over a range of changes in both the POS and POF. On IGD and HVD, DPb-MOPSO can solve 8/13 and 7/13 of the 13 UDF and ZJZ functions with moderate changes. DPb-MOPSO is able to resolve 4/8 FDA and DMOP benchmarks with severe changes to the MIGD, and 5/8 with moderate changes. DPb-MOPSO assumes 4/8 of the solving function on IGD

The paper describes the process of the information objects classification in e-learning systems using the mathematical background of fuzzy logic. This approach can be used to improve the process of searching and organizing information in e-learning systems. As the volume of educational materials grows, it becomes more and more difficult to find and structure information. Fuzzy logic helps to optimize the search, and the use of a neural network can correctly classify materials in e-learning systems, which increases the efficiency and accuracy of search queries.

Now a day's there is a significant increase in the in the duplicate copies of large original images. One of the main reason for such duplication is due to the availability of large number of image editing software. In this paper, we have proposed a significant image hashing technique based on Local Binary Pattern (LBP) for image identification. Here, the input image is initially pre-processed to remove any kind of minor effects. Local binary pattern (LBP) is then applied to the processed image to produce features which is used for identification. The calculated experimental values show that proposed hashing is giving extraordinary performance against 'Histogram equalization' attack. Receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve shows that proposed hashing gives better results as compared to other referenced techniques. Keeping in view the results obtained for the proposed technique, one can say that we can use such a copy detector for online detection of image copies. © 2020 IEEE.
