Urban living in large modern cities exerts considerable adverse effectson health and thus increases the risk of contracting several chronic kidney diseases (CKD). The prediction of CKDs has become a major task in urbanizedcountries. The primary objective of this work is to introduce and develop predictive analytics for predicting CKDs. However, prediction of huge samples isbecoming increasingly difficult. Meanwhile, MapReduce provides a feasible framework for programming predictive algorithms with map and reduce *** relatively simple programming interface helps solve problems in the scalability and efficiency of predictive learning algorithms. In the proposed work, theiterative weighted map reduce framework is introduced for the effective management of large dataset samples. A binary classification problem is formulated usingensemble nonlinear support vector machines and random forests. Thus, instead ofusing the normal linear combination of kernel activations, the proposed work creates nonlinear combinations of kernel activations in prototype examples. Furthermore, different descriptors are combined in an ensemble of deep support vectormachines, where the product rule is used to combine probability estimates ofdifferent classifiers. Performance is evaluated in terms of the prediction accuracyand interpretability of the model and the results.

Physical rehabilitation programs frequently begin with a brief stay in the hospital and continue with home-based rehabilitation. Lack of feedback on exercise correctness is a significant issue in home-based rehabilitation. Deep learning-based movement quality assessment (MQA) can assist with home-based rehabilitation by providing the necessary quantitative feedback. However, systems developed for home-based settings must be fast and offer interpretability of the generated assessment. In this paper, we explore an attention-guided transformer-based architecture for MQA. A comparative analysis against the current state-of-the-art methods is undertaken to establish the validity of the proposed model. Further, we show that the proposed model offers significant performance improvement in training and inference time, which is pivotal for any real-time system. Finally, we show that analysis of the attention maps of the proposed model can give critical insights into the decision-making process of the deep-learning model, thus improving the overall interpretability of predicted assessment scores. © 2023 IEEE.

New Approaches to the Prognosis and Diagnosis of Breast Cancer Using Fuzzy Expert Systems

Breast cancer remains a significant global health challenge, necessitating effective early detection and prognosis to enhance patient outcomes. Current diagnostic methods, including mammography and MRI, suffer from limitations such as uncertainty and imprecise data, leading to late-stage diagnoses. To address this, various expert systems have been developed, but many rely on type-1 fuzzy logic and lack mobile-based applications for data collection and feedback to healthcare practitioners. This research investigates the development of an Enhanced Mobile-based Fuzzy Expert system (EMFES) for breast cancer pre-growth prognosis. The study explores the use of type-2 fuzzy logic to enhance accuracy and model uncertainty effectively. Additionally, it evaluates the advantages of employing the python programming language over java for implementation and considers specific risk factors for data collection. The research aims to dynamically generate fuzzy rules, adapting to evolving breast cancer research and patient data. Key research questions focus on the comparative effectiveness of type-2 fuzzy logic, the handling of uncertainty and imprecise data, the integration of mobile-based features, the choice of programming language, and the creation of dynamic fuzzy rules. Furthermore, the study examines the differences between the Mamdani Inference System and the Sugeno Fuzzy Inference method and explores challenges and opportunities in deploying the EMFES on mobile devices. The research identifies a critical gap in existing breast cancer diagnostic systems, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive, mobile-enabled, and adaptable solution by developing an EMFES that leverages Type-2 fuzzy logic, the Sugeno Inference Algorithm, Python Programming, and dynamic fuzzy rule generation. This study seeks to enhance early breast cancer detection and ultimately reduce breast cancer-related mortality.

A variety of hardware architectures, both CPUs and GPUs, are used today to build supercomputers and parallel clusters. Often times, users can choose which hardware platform they want to run on. Modern scientific workflows have multiple computational tasks, and each task may be better suited for a different architecture in terms of performance. Deciding where to run an application or workflow task is not straightforward because of the complexity of applications, and hardware architectures, which makes performance predictions challenging. Hence, modeling the performance of scientific applications across a variety of architectures is important for achieving the best performance. In this paper, we present a machine learning based methodology to model the relative performance of applications across multiple architectures using hardware performance counters. Our machine learning model can predict the relative performance of an application with a mean absolute error of 0.11, and can be used effectively to make performance-aware and multi-architecture scheduling decisions, reducing makespan by up to 20%.

The COVID-19 outbreak has significantly disrupted the agricultural system in India. In spite of this, the most recent quarterly GDP forecasts post-COVID scenario demonstrate the tenacity and durability of the Indian agricultural sector, which is anticipated to be the only sector to record a positive growth rate of 4% for fiscal years (FY) 2020 and 2021. Similarly, growth for the most recent quarter is projected to have been 5.89%, representing a reduction of 2.4% point. In this context, our goal is to compile a summary of the early evidence on the impact of COVID-19 on the agricultural sector in India, including production, marketing, and consumption, and then to design a set of pragmatic strategies to recover and thrive after the pandemic. According to the survey’s findings, the pandemic has disrupted production and marketing through labour and logistical restrictions, while the negative income shock has restricted access to markets and increased food commodity prices, altering consumption patterns. The pandemic caused great emotional, social, economic, and bodily harm to everyone involved in India’s agriculture industry. The state has responded to the crisis by seizing the opportunity it presents and launching a variety of programmes and necessary changes. We suggest a ten-point plan that includes social safety nets, family farming, the trading of buffer stock, staggered procurement, and secondary agriculture in order to revitalise and prosper after the epidemic. © 2024, CRC Press/Balkema. In this paper,we study the system performance of mobile edge computing(MEC)wireless sensor networks(WSNs)using a multiantenna access point(AP)and two sensor clusters based on uplink nonorthogonal multiple access(NOMA).Due to limited computation and energy resources,the cluster heads(CHs)offload their tasks to a multiantenna AP over Nakagami-m *** proposed a combination protocol for NOMA-MEC-WSNs in which the AP selects either selection combining(SC)or maximal ratio combining(MRC)and each cluster selects a CH to participate in the communication process by employing the sensor node(SN)*** derive the closed-form exact expressions of the successful computation probability(SCP)to evaluate the system performance with the latency and energy consumption constraints of the considered *** results are provided to gain insight into the system performance in terms of the SCP based on system parameters such as the number of AP antennas,number of SNs in each cluster,task length,working frequency,offloading ratio,and transmit power ***,to determine the optimal resource parameters,i.e.,the offloading ratio,power allocation of the two CHs,and MEC AP resources,we proposed two algorithms to achieve the best system *** approach reveals that the optimal parameters with different schemes significantly improve SCP compared to other similar *** use Monte Carlo simulations to confirm the validity of our analysis.

The world is witnessing a significant paradigm shift in the delivery and management of industrial services, driven by the need for automated manufacturing in industries such as mining. This transformation is pivotal as it leverages the Internet to interconnect people and devices, giving rise to a new field known as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). IIoT represents the fusion of IoT’s computational capabilities with the principles of the industrial revolution, facilitating extensive scalability through the transition from IPv4 to IPv6. A crucial challenge within IIoT is the battery life of sensor nodes, which is directly influenced by the efficiency of their operating modules and protocols. Various protocols have been tested within IIoT-based Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) to address this issue. However, these protocols often fall short in terms of data rate performance, which is essential for supporting the diverse range of IIoT applications and services. This manuscript investigates the IPv6 packet delivery rate, focusing on energy efficiency and delay. The research identifies the G.9959 protocol as superior to IEEE 802.15.4 for IIoT adoption. Additionally, it examines the impact of bandwidth variation on energy efficiency. Through comprehensive simulations, the proposed scheme demonstrates superior performance compared to existing protocols, highlighting its potential for enhancing IIoT applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Data mining is the concept of collecting raw data and convert into useful information. Data mining is used for everything from what customers want to buy a thing and which thing is recommended to customers. In this paper, the proposed algorithm used is Neural Network. A Neural Network algorithm is used to recognize the hidden relationship between the data set by adopting the process of how the human brain performs functioning. In this research paper, a different algorithm is also used, and compare the result of this algorithm.
