Online monitoring is a widely used technique in assessing if the performance of the system satisfies some desired requirements during run-time operation. Existing works on online monitoring usually assume that the monitor can acquire system information periodically at each time instant. However, such a periodic mechanism may be unnecessarily energy-consuming as it essentially requires to turn on sensors consistently. In this paper, we proposed a novel self-triggered mechanism for model-based online monitoring of discrete-time dynamical system under specifications described by signal temporal logic (STL) formulae. Specifically, instead of sampling the system state at each time instant, a self-triggered monitor can actively determine when the next system state is sampled in addition to its monitoring decision regarding the satisfaction of the task. We propose an effective algorithm for synthesizing such a self-triggered monitor that can correctly evaluate a given STL formula on-the-fly while maximizing the time interval between two observations. We show that, compared with the standard online monitor with periodic information, the proposed self-triggered monitor can significantly reduce observation burden while ensuring that no information of the STL formula is lost. The skin lesion can be thought of as a biological system, so the morpho-granulometry of significant color clusters found in skin lesions is one of the elements that reproduce in a natural way the structure of the lesion, this novelty is highlighted in this study. Important features of skin lesions can be modulated by fusing neural networks (NN) and machine learning (ML). By choosing the nevus and melanoma classes, the primary goal was accomplished, and three databases were used to test the methodology. The characteristics based on morpho-granulometry allowed for the identification of microstructure within the images, which can be very helpful in characterizing the biological system. Based on random forest (RF) and extreme gradient boosting (XGboost) classifiers, this work aimed to improve the classification performance of important feature selection. The selected features from three free image databases with three NNs were classified. In a binary classification of nevus vs. melanoma, the results showed that the pattern recognition neural network (PRNN), according to the PH2 database, provided an accuracy of 0.923 and an F1-score of 0.876. The classification is interpretable if it is not validated. In our study, the best results were verified with a logistic regression (LR) classifier.

The paper presents a study of the effectiveness of software from the point of view of minimizing the energy consumption of microprocessor devices. In this case, the programming of the microcontroller in various programming languages for arithmetic operations, as well as data output through the port, is considered. In the course of the tests, the peculiarities of the application of this or that program and their operation, taking into account the energy saving of the microcontroller, are noted.

Fast Full-frame Video Stabilization with Iterative Optimization

Video stabilization refers to the problem of transforming a shaky video into a visually pleasing one. The question of how to strike a good trade-off between visual quality and computational speed has remained one of the open challenges in video stabilization. Inspired by the analogy between wobbly frames and jigsaw puzzles, we propose an iterative optimization-based learning approach using synthetic datasets for video stabilization, which consists of two interacting submodules: motion trajectory smoothing and full-frame outpainting. First, we develop a two-level (coarse-to-fine) stabilizing algorithm based on the probabilistic flow field. The confidence map associated with the estimated optical flow is exploited to guide the search for shared regions through backpropagation. Second, we take a divide-and-conquer approach and propose a novel multiframe fusion strategy to render full-frame stabilized views. An important new insight brought about by our iterative optimization approach is that the target video can be interpreted as the fixed point of nonlinear mapping for video stabilization. We formulate video stabilization as a problem of minimizing the amount of jerkiness in motion trajectories, which guarantees convergence with the help of fixed-point theory. Extensive experimental results are reported to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed approach in terms of computational speed and visual quality. The code will be available on GitHub. A Stackelberg Game Approach for Signal Temporal Logic control Synthesis with Uncontrollable Agents

In this paper, we investigate the control synthesis problem for Signal Temporal Logic (STL) specifications in the presence of uncontrollable agents. Existing works mainly address this problem in a robust control setting by assuming the uncontrollable agents are adversarial and accounting for the worst-case scenario. While this approach ensures safety, it can be overly conservative in scenarios where uncontrollable agents have their own objectives that are not entirely opposed to the system’s goals. Motivated by this limitation, we propose a new framework for STL control synthesis within the Stackelberg game setting. Specifically, we assume that the system controller, acting as the leader, first commits to a plan, after which the uncontrollable agents, acting as followers, take a best response based on the committed plan and their own objectives. Our goal is to synthesize a control sequence for the leader such that, for any rational followers producing a best response, the leader’s STL task is guaranteed to be satisfied. We present an effective solution to this problem by transforming it into a single-stage optimization problem and leveraging counterexample guided synthesis techniques. We demonstrate that the proposed approach is sound and identify conditions under which it is optimal. Similarity transformation problems are important in robotic instrumentation and computer vision based measurements since in many cases the information of visually observed scene scale is unknown and must be restored for accurate 3-dimensional reconstruction. In existing solvers, the scale is often considered as a scalar, i.e., isotropic, which may be invalid for anisotropic-scale setups. This paper exploits some mathematical coincidences that will lead to efficient solution to these problems. Possible further applications also include hand-eye calibration and structure-from-motion. We revisit pose estimation problems within the framework of similarity transformation, the one that considers scale-stretching, rotation and translation simultaneously. Two major problems are taken into account, i.e., the scale-stretching point-cloud registration and perspective-n-points (PnP). It has been found out that these two problems are quite similar. Moreover, we solve the anisotropic-scale registration problem that is important and is a remaining unsolved one in previous literatures. To compute the globally optimal solution of these non-convex problems, algebraic solution is obtained to compute all local minima using computationally efficient methods. The designed algorithm is deployed for robotic-arm pose estimation. We also extend the algorithm for solving the problem of robust magnetometer calibration. Visual pose experiments verify the superiority of the proposed method compared with representatives, including P3P, Lambda-Twist P3P and EPnP, which can be reproduced by repository in https://***/zarathustr/APnP. Constraining Depth Map Geometry for Multi-View Stereo: A Dual-Depth Approach with Saddle-shaped Depth Cells

Learning-based multi-view stereo (MVS) methods deal with predicting accurate depth maps to achieve an accurate and complete 3D representation. Despite the excellent performance, existing methods ignore the fact that a suitable depth geometry is also critical in MVS. In this paper, we demonstrate that different depth geometries have significant performance gaps, even using the same depth prediction error. Therefore, we introduce an ideal depth geometry composed of Saddle-Shaped Cells, whose predicted depth map oscillates upward and downward around the ground-truth surface, rather than maintaining a continuous and smooth depth plane. To achieve it, we develop a coarse-to-fine framework called Dual-MVSNet (DMVSNet), which can produce an oscillating depth plane. Technically, we predict two depth values for each pixel (Dual-Depth), and propose a novel loss function and a checkerboard-shaped selecting strategy to constrain the predicted depth geometry. Compared to existing methods,DMVSNet achieves a high rank on the DTU benchmark and obtains the top performance on challenging scenes of Tanks and Temples, demonstrating its strong performance and generalization ability. Most proposed memristor-based circuits of associative memory consider various mechanisms in only one associative memory. Few works on circuit design of sequential associative memory have been reported. In this paper, a memristor-based circuit of sequential associative memory with memory interactions and stimulus similarity effect is designed. Two associative memories, the prior associative memory (PAM) and the later associative memory (LAM), are formed successively. The PAM modifies the rate of the formation of the LAM, and the LAM, in turn, affects the strength of the PAM, which are two interactions in sequential associative memory, called transfer and retroaction. In addition, the magnitudes of transfer and retroaction are determined by the similarity of the conditioned stimuli. The above functions are realized by the ring input processing module, memory module, transfer module and retroaction module. It has been identified in circuit analysis that the proposed circuit is power efficient and has good robustness. Furthermore, the proposed circuit has promising applications for fire rescue robots. © 2016 IEEE.
