As labor shortages and safety regulations become more prominent, the need for human-in-the-loop automation of excavators is increasing. To meet this demand, we have developed a comprehensive modeling method for the excavator arm using nonlinear optimization approaches, including a simplified model that maps the task space to the joint space, as well as an equivalent model that maps the joint space to the actuator space. These models were then used to build a feedforward-PID joint velocity controller and a joint trajectory controller combined with position feedback, which forms the core of our proposed semi-automatic control system for the excavator arm. Our deployment scheme is simple and efficient, and has been deployed on two excavators of different makes and sizes. Experiments show that our deployment scheme performs well on both excavators, with an average error of 0.05 rad/s for the velocity controller and less than 5 cm for the trajectory controller. Driven by the coexisted heterogeneous communication protocols and diverse quality of service (QoS) requirements of industrial applications, time-sensitive networking (TSN) has been proposed as a promising and unified standard to provide deterministic transmission. However, the traffic scheduling of the TSN network should be orchestrated in a coordinated manner, which is challenging to respond to dynamic applications rapidly. For this, network function virtualization (NFV) has been introduced to eliminate the tight coupling between functions and devices, thus enabling a more flexible network resource allocation. However, NFV cannot be simply applied in a TSN network due to the inherent complex characteristics of TSN. To address this issue, we develop SvTI, a service function chain (SFC) driven queue injection scheme in the NFV-enabled TSN network. The basic idea of SvTI is to jointly model virtual network functions (VNFs) embedding and the TSN multi-queue characteristic by constructing an ordered augmented topology according to the SFC. Thus, the VNF embedding and TSN queue injection problem can be transformed into a shortest path routing problem. Besides, considering the QoS requirements of applications, a TSN queue-based topology division mechanism is proposed to simplify the augmented topology further and improve the algorithm efficiency. Simulation results show that our SvTI obtains a smaller graph size than other works and is more scalable.

This article is concerned with the $H_{\infty }$ proportional–integral–derivative (PID) control problem for class of discrete-time Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy systems subject to infinite-distributed time delays and round-robin (RR) protocol scheduling effects. The information exchange between the sensors and the controller is conducted through a shared communication network. For the purpose of alleviating possible data collision, the well-known RR communication protocol is deployed to schedule the data transmissions. To stabilize the target system with guaranteed $H_{\infty }$ performance index, a novel yet easy-to-implement fuzzy PID controller is developed whose integral term is calculated based on the past measurements defined in a limited time window with hope to improve computational efficiency and reduce accumulation error. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory and the convex optimization technique, sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the exponential stability as well as the $H_{\infty }$ disturbance attenuation/rejection capacity of the underlying system. Furthermore, by utilizing the cone complementarity linearization algorithm, the nonconvex controller design problem is transformed into an iterative optimization one that facilitates the controller implementation. Finally, simulation examples are given to show the effectiveness and correctness of the developed control method.

We propose a novel sampled-data output-feedback controller for nonlinear systems of arbitrary relative degree that ensures reference tracking within prescribed error bounds. We provide explicit bounds on the maximum input signal and the required uniform sampling time. A key strength of this approach is its capability to serve as a safety filter for various learning-based controller designs, enabling the use of learning techniques in safety-critical applications. We illustrate its versatility by integrating it with two different controllers: a reinforcement learning controller and a non-parametric predictive controller based on Willems et al.’s fundamental lemma. This article presents a leak localization methodology based on state estimation and learning. The first is handled by an interpolation scheme, whereas dictionary learning is considered for the second stage. The novel proposed interpolation technique exploits the physics of the interconnections between hydraulic heads of neighboring nodes in water distribution networks. Additionally, residuals are directly interpolated instead of hydraulic head values. The results of applying the proposed method to a well-known case study (Modena) demonstrated the improvements of the new interpolation method with respect to a state-of-the-art approach, both in terms of interpolation error (considering state and residual estimation) and posterior localization. An electroencephalogram that was captured with electrodes placed can easily get contaminated with a variety of artifacts. Here is a comparative of various electroencephalogram (EEG) de-noising techniques. Three alternative techniques are used to eliminate five different kinds of noise, and also the outcomes are evaluated. These three methods are just the Least Mean Square (LMS) technique, the Connected Neural Network, and also the Recursive Least - square (RLS) adaptable algorithm (FCNN). Period charts of the actual EEG signal, the noise EEG signal, and thus the predicted EEG signal are used to display the results. RRMSE and signal- to-noise ratio were utilized to compare the effectiveness of the 3 de-noising strategies in this study. Investigating the model parameters in this case, we discover the FCNN forecasts a better outcome compared to the other two methods.

The sole situation of semi-crystalline structure induced single performance remarkably limits the green cryogels in the application of soft devices due to uncontrolled freezing field. Here, a facile strategy for achieving multifunctionality of cryogels is proposed using total amorphization of polymer. Through precisely lowering the freezing point of precursor solutions with an antifreezing salt, the suppressed growth of ice is achieved, creating an unusually weak and homogenous aggregation of polymer chains upon freezing, thereby realizing the tunable amorphization of polymer and the coexistence of free and hydrogen bonding hydroxyl groups. Such multi-scale microstructures trigger the integrated properties of tissue-like ultrasoftness (Young’s modulus <10 kPa) yet stretchability, high transparency (~92%), self-adhesion, and instantaneous self-healing (<0.3 s) for cryogels, along with superior ionic-conductivity, antifreezing (−58 °C) and water-retention abilities, pushing the development of skin-like cryogel electronics. These concepts open an attractive branch for cryogels that adopt regulated crystallization behavior for on-demand functionalities. © 2023, Springer Nature Limited.

Evaluating contextualized language models for Hungarian

We present an extended comparison of contextualized language models for Hungarian. We compare huBERT, a Hungarian model against 4 multilingual models including the multilingual BERT model. We evaluate these models through three tasks, morphological probing, POS tagging and NER. We find that huBERT works better than the other models, often by a large margin, particularly near the global optimum (typically at the middle layers). We also find that huBERT tends to generate fewer subwords for one word and that using the last subword for token-level tasks is generally a better choice than using the first one. Foundation models such as ChatGPT have made significant strides in robotic tasks due to their universal representation of real-world domains. In this paper, we leverage foundation models to tackle grasp detection, a persistent challenge in robotics with broad industrial applications. Despite numerous grasp datasets, their object diversity remains limited compared to real-world figures. Fortunately, foundation models possess an extensive repository of real-world knowledge, including objects we encounter in our daily lives. As a consequence, a promising solution to the limited representation in previous grasp datasets is to harness the universal knowledge embedded in these foundation models. We present Grasp-Anything, a new large-scale grasp dataset synthesized from foundation models to implement this solution. Grasp-Anything excels in diversity and magnitude, boasting 1M samples with text descriptions and more than 3M objects, surpassing prior datasets. Empirically, we show that Grasp-Anything successfully facilitates zero-shot grasp detection on vision-based tasks and real-world robotic experiments.
