Since the emergence of Pokémon Go in 2016, the world has been introduced to Augmented Reality (AR) games. Many IT companies have begun developing augmented reality (AR) games due to the great commercial potential in this industry. Certain products may have managed to remain viable in the market, while others were forced to close due to one or two factors. Since the emergence of Pokémon Go, no other game has managed to surpass its unprecedented success. The company responsible for developing Pokémon Go has decided to shut down one of their games due to a lack of consumer interest. The technology of augmented reality (AR) is consistently associated with the concept of immersion. Immersion is a key aspect of the game that allows users to deeply engage and feel fully involved in the experience. This study will employ a quantitative methodology, utilising a questionnaire that will be distributed to and completed by those who have engaged in augmented reality (AR) games. The data will be analysed using Smart PLS to examine the impact of user experience on immersion, which in turn influences intention. After gathering over 200 participants by spreading google form questionnaires and doing data analysis, the findings indicate that only a few aspects of user experience, namely Brand Experience and User Need Experience, have an impact on reasons. Niantic, the developer of Pokémon Go, was unable to replicate their success with a similar augmented reality game called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. The initial release occurred on June 21, 2019, and the shutdown took place on December 21, 2021. In the beginning, they shown a profound enthusiasm for the game but were unable to sustain it, much as Pokémon Go. According to Niantic CEO John Hanke, the primary reason for the game's shutdown was its immersion. Digital tourism village potentially accelerates rural development hence improving a country's economy. The Indonesian government has developed hundreds of tourism villages in recent years but has yet to popularize the development of digital villages. Technology design and development are pivotal factors in tourism villages' digitalization. Therefore, the development digital tourism village must consider village readiness by measuring technology adoption readiness or technology acceptance of the corresponding stakeholders. This paper presents the technology acceptance analysis in the context of a digital tourism village. We use a quantitative analysis approach using the TAM-UTAUT model with data collected from a questionnaire of 101 villagers (n=101) in Pasanggrahan Village, West Java, Indonesia. This research uses machine learning with clustering procedures to analyze the level of technology adoption readiness by implementing K-means Clustering algorithm. In addition, to observe the significance of each influencing factor to the technology adoption readiness level, feature importance analysis approach using Extra tree classifier algorithm is employed. The research finds that attitude toward use, perceived ease of use, and facilitating condition-have a considerable impact on the degree of readiness for technology adoption. On the other hand, the perceived utility and social impact are found to have minimal bearing on the preparedness level for technology adoption. Perceived ease of use and facilitating conditions are the most important factors to afford the acceleration of technology adoption readiness. The research contributes to the development of a digital tourism village and the analysis of technology adoption readiness using machine learning. © 2024 IEEE.

Virtual reality (VR) applications achieve their high immersive potential by detaching the user from the real world, replacing it through a virtual environment. This detachment also blocks real-world orientation cues, which might cause fear of colliding with the real environment and negatively impact the player experience. However, since collision anxiety (CA) is a relatively young concept, it is unclear how factors like users' VR expertise or specific game design choices may affect it. We defined expected CA profiles for five commercial VR games and conducted a longitudinal study examining how growing VR expertise and VR game design influence the users' CA. After six weeks and a total of 154 VR sessions, results indicate that CA differs between applications and generally decreases as VR expertise increases. Based on our results, we propose design implications, providing researchers and designers with guidelines on when to expect and how to avoid fear of colliding. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a brain disorder that causes dementia and affects the memory, cognitive, and behavioral function. Early detection for AD can help to reduce the symptoms and slow down AD progression. Deep learning, particularly Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), a component of artificial intelligence, has demonstrated efficacy in resolving image-related issues and has gained widespread use in the analysis of medical images. CNN works well on large datasets, however, in imbalanced datasets, it can perform poorly by misclassifying minority classes. In this study, the random over-sampling technique is used to address the imbalance in the dataset, while Albumentations is used for image augmentation to prevent overfitting. The results demonstrate that the combination of these techniques leads to improved classification performance compared to traditional approaches. The proposed method has the potential to improve the accuracy of AD diagnosis and contribute to the development of effective treatments for this debilitating condition. © 2023 IEEE.

Text summarization is a natural language processing (NLP) technique in artificial intelligence that has been studied in recent years. Every document containing text is tested to get a good summary result. In producing a good summary, proper accuracy is required;therefore, various techniques and methods are used, and another challenge is the use of language in the documents being tested. Various types of documents have been used as research for text summarization, including scientific documents, so researchers are interested in studying them more intensely to get the state of the art in research. This research was conducted to review previous research using literature studies from various publications that published research on text summarization in scientific documents. The researcher collected data from several publishers who had published this type of research from 1988 to 2023 quarter 1 and obtained three hundred and eleven articles, then the researcher analyzed the data using the Kitchenham method to get the right literature to answer the research question. Thirty-seven articles were selected for further in-depth analysis. In addition, the researcher found some interesting findings beyond the research question, including other techniques used to solve the text summarization problem and other types of output that are not commonly produced so that it can increase knowledge in researching text summarization. © 2023 IEEE.

Exact solutions of the Routing, Modulation, and Spectrum Allocation (RMSA) problem in Elastic Optical Networks (EONs), so that the number of admitted demands is maximized while those of regenerators and frequency slots used are minimized, require a complex ILP formulation taking into account frequency-slot continuity and contiguity. We introduce the first such formulation, ending a hiatus of some years since the last ILP formulation for a much simpler RMSA variation was introduced. By exploiting a number of problem and solver specificities, we use the NSFNET topology to illustrate the practicality and importance of obtaining exact solutions. © 2019 IEEE.

This paper presents the algorithm and very-large-scale integration (VLSI) architecture of a high-throughput and highly efficient independent component analysis (ICA) processor for self-interference cancellation (SIC) in in-band full-duplex (IBFD) systems. This is the first VLSI architecture reported in the literature based on the state-of-the-art entropy bound minimization (EBM) approach. A novel ICA algorithm is presented in this paper with momentum gradient descent optimization. Simulation results show that the number of iterations for the proposed algorithm is significantly reduced compared to the conventional ICA algorithms. Furthermore, a novel early-distribution estimation scheme is proposed in the designed ICA processor to compute multiple distribution functions with low latency and low complexity. The processing flow and the efficiency for the hardware utilization are specifically designed so that the processing speed is maximized with minimum employment of hardware components. The proposed ICA processor is designed and implemented based on the application-specific-integrated circuit (ASIC) flow. The post-layout estimations show that compared with the conventional EBM-based scheme, the proposed design improves the throughput and efficiency by 30x. In addition, compared to prior designs shown in the literature, the proposed ICA processor also demonstrates a significant enhancement in terms of throughput and efficiency. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

Sentiment analysis is crucial method in business intelligence to extract insights, which typically begin with sentiment classification. One of the latest frameworks for generating sentence embeddings for sentiment classification is LLM2Vec, which allows Transformer decoder-based models to generate sentence embeddings for text representation. Its capability is deemed language-agnostic, which, in this study, the framework is leveraged for Tokopedia tweet sentiment analysis to prove the claim. The base decoder models used in the LLM2Vec framework were Llama 3 8B, Llama 2 7B, Sheared Llama 1.3B, and Mistral 7B. Two BERT-based models, which are the Indonesian SBERT model and IndoBERT trained with the SimCSE approach, were employed as a comparison. The generated embeddings were classified using logistic regression, SVM, and MLP Classifier. Classifiers using embedding generated by LLM2Vec with Llama 3 8B and Mistral 7B achieves on-par performance with classifiers that utilize IndoBERT SimCSE embeddings, while classifiers using embeddings generated by LLM2Vec with Llama 2 7B and Sheared Llama 1.3B achieves much lower performance. Classifiers with Indonesian SBERT embeddings achieve the highest F1 score performance. Despite slightly lower performance, this study has proven the language-agnostic capability of LLM2Vec, especially with Llama 3 8B and Mistral 7B in colloquial Bahasa Indonesia sentiment analysis, since none of the base decoders were ever trained using the Bahasa Indonesia corpus. © 2024 IEEE.

In an era where technology is advancing at an unprecedented rate, the internet has become an indispensable tool for everyday life, offering both convenience and efficiency. While the internet has simplified tasks ranging from communication to information retrieval, it also poses significant challenges in the realm of cyber security. Users are not just potential victims but can also become unwitting perpetrators of cybercrimes. This highlights the urgent need for cyber security awareness among the general populace. Focusing on Indonesia, a nation where cyber security education is still in its infancy, this study aims to assess the level of public awareness regarding the specific threat of phishing. Employing the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology, this research analyzes a comprehensive range of literature encompassing subjects such as phishing, data leakage, broader cyber security threats, and the current state of public awareness about phishing. The objective is to provide a detailed overview of existing knowledge and identify areas where educational efforts should be concentrated. The results indicate a considerable gap in the understanding of phishing among Indonesians. Many studies reviewed did not offer a clear definition or explanation of phishing, creating an environment where individuals are more susceptible to these cyber-attacks. This research underscores the urgent need for targeted educational initiatives aimed at increasing public awareness and understanding of phishing and other cyber threats. © 2023 IEEE.

Explaining Review-Based Recommendations: Effects of Profile Transparency, Presentation Style and User Characteristics

Providing explanations based on user reviews in recommender systems (RS) may increase users' perception of transparency or effectiveness. However, little is known about how these explanations should be presented to users, or which types of user interface components should be included in explanations, in order to increase both their comprehensibility and acceptance. To investigate such matters, we conducted two experiments and evaluated the differences in users' perception when providing information about their own profiles, in addition to a summarized view on the opinions of other customers about the recommended hotel. Additionally, we also aimed to test the effect of different display styles (bar chart and table) on the perception of review-based explanations for recommended hotels, as well as how useful users find different explanatory interface components. Our results suggest that the perception of an RS and its explanations given profile transparency and different presentation styles, may vary depending on individual differences on user characteristics, such as decision-making styles, social awareness, or visualization familiarity. © 2020 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston 2020.
