Industry 4.0 will bring not only transformation to the manufacturing technologies but also to the profile of the workforce. Education system should be revised to prepare the future graduates embracing the knowledge of the ongoing revolution. Initiatives on the modification of curriculum and tools to deliver the concepts of Industry 4.0 must be taken. This paper examines limitations of current engineering tools and proposes a virtual reality (VR)-based learning platform to support the teaching and learning activity for Industry 4.0, focusing on the design of Human–robot Collaboration (HRC). The development process began with the identification of the general Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) which were extracted from the review of the HRC design issues, followed by the evaluation of the current teaching tool. From these results, the new requirements of the tools to achieve ILOs are redefined. The implementation of the system is demonstrated to show the feasibility of the proposed learning platform. This workflow can serve as initial development of another learning platform for the other innovative concepts that form the building blocks of Industry 4.0. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

Digital transformation in various industries has led to considerable changes in organizational strategic behavior. Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the global sense, have been under pressure to adopt information and communication technology to increase their performance. Digital marketing has started to be recognized as one potential enabler of digital transformation. Managerial practices and academic literature provide limited guidance on how digital marketing can be used as an enabler of digital transformation across enterprises. This is especially in dearth among the study of MSMEs, particularly in emerging countries such as Indonesia where MSMEs have significant major roles in economic growth and workforce absorption. Besides, only a small portion of Indonesian MSMEs has embraced digital technology. Using the case study method, this paper finds that digital marketing adoption of the MSMEs may serve as the first-level enabler of digital transformation by allowing the MSMEs to enhance its dynamic capabilities. This paper contributes to the area of digital transformation through a marketing perspective, something that is novel in the context of MSMEs. For managers, the results of the study provide actionable guidelines for the MSMEs on how to drive digital transformation with digital marketing as the entry-level of adoption. © 2023 IEEE.

Post-pandemic and globalization have accelerated the implementation of Industry 4.0, aided by rapid technological and information advancements. Industry 4.0 has significant consequences for all institutions in developing ICT infrastructure, one of which is educational institutions. Despite the enthusiasm in all educational institutions for using ICT to improve teaching and learning, particularly in universities, integrating technology is becoming problematic. Integrating ICT infrastructure in universities is a multidimensional process involving technology and curriculum, pedagogy, institutional readiness, lecturer competence, and long-term financial planning. Because of this, it is essential to explain the adoption of technology within the scope of this study to make the most of investments made in the integrated ICT infrastructure of the university using the UTAUT2 method. © 2022 IEEE.

Predicting vehicles' motion on highways has become crucial for enhancing road safety and traffic flow. Deep learning, which reached exceptional results in various applications, is now the leading approach for vehicle motion prediction. This work presents a deep learning-based model using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks to classify vehicle intentions into lane-keeping, left lane-changing, and right lane-changing. Utilizing the PREVENTION dataset, which provides naturalistic driving data, a sequence of centre points, longitudinal distances, lateral distances and yaw angles of a vehicle has been extracted to train the model to predict lane changes effectively. The model consists of three LSTM layers, a dense output layer and a drop out added between layers to prevent overfitting. Experiments focusing on optimizing the model parameters, learning rate, sequence length, and batch size, were conducted to determine their impact on prediction effectiveness. The best-performing model showed significant results in lane changing prediction, achieving an accuracy of 84%, precision of 89%, and recall of 82%. Future work will aim to train the model on more complex features, to account for vehicle inter-dependencies and interactions, and test model on various highway scenarios for a more reliable system. © 2024 IEEE.

Real-time social interactions and multi-streaming are two critical features of live streaming services. In this paper, we formulate a new fundamental service query, Social-aware Diverse and Preferred Organization Query (SDSQ), that jointly selects a set of diverse and preferred live streaming channels and a group of socially tight viewers for organization of a live multi-streaming soiree. We prove that SDSQ is NP-hard and inapproximable within any factor, and design SDSSel, a 2-approximation algorithm with a guaranteed error bound. Moreover, we study SDSQ-T, a special case of SDSQ, where the social graph is a threshold graph, and propose TDSSel, a 2-approximation algorithm without any error to SDSQ-T. We propose two pruning strategies, PCP and CDP to boost SDSSel and TDSSel. We further propose a more challenging but practical service query, Generalized Social-aware Maximum Preferred and Diverse Query (GSPQ), a generalization of SDSQ. We design GPDSel, a 4-approximation algorithm for GSPQ with a guaranteed error bound. We propose a strategy to improve the approximation ratios of the proposed algorithms. A user study on Twitch validates SDSQ, and the large-scale experiments on real datasets demonstrate the superiority of the proposed algorithms over several baselines for live-streaming services. © 2008-2012 IEEE.

This exponential proliferation of IoT devices is creating an ever-growing demand for efficient cybersecurity solutions in resource-constrained environments. In this study, we propose Edge-IoTDistilBERT, a fine-tuned DistilBERT model, intended for the multi-class classification of network packet attacks within IoT ecosystems. Our proposed model was trained on the Edge-IIoT dataset, representative of all traffic classes and attack variants with high accuracy of up to 99.99%, outperforming state-of-the-art solutions. The new preprocessing pipeline of PCAP to text would transform the network traffic to a textual form allowing the model to learn the pattern in the dataset and making it able to generalize its content. Our fine-tuned model show a robust result on imbalanced dataset with two diffrent splits namely 80–20 and 70–30. The result shown by Edge-IoTDistilBERT place this model as a feasible effective cybersecurity solution for IoT networks, offering a good trade-off between high performance and resource constraints linked to edge devices.

In general, public or private organizations or companies have used information-based technology as a support to improve business performance to be more effective and efficient in order to achieve a company's business goals. Banking companies include companies that use information technology such as Mobile Banking in their services. Mobile banking is a banking facility or service using mobile communication tools such as mobile phones, with the provision of facilities for banking transactions through mobile applications. Even though they have used a good SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), there are still many obstacles that occur, especially system problems and human errors. This can result in a high risk if it occurs continuously and will be fatal to the company's business processes. Therefore, COBIT 5 can be used as a benchmark for the IT assessment process on local bank mobile banking services. The purpose of the study is to determine the level of capability and strategy for improving risk management. The method used in this study is to focus on IT risk management with the COBIT 5 framework in the Evaluate Direct Monitoring (EDM) 3 domain, Align Plain Organize (APO) 12. From the results of the analysis, the calculation of the capability level is at Level 1 Performed Process with a score of 82.04%, thus the status has evidence as well as a systematic approach and this achievement is obtained significantly through the assessment of process attributes. © 2022 IEEE.

Wireless sensor networks, the dynamic networks with spatially dispersed sensors are used indispensably in a wide range of applications. Heterogeneous wireless sensor networks represent a collection of sensor nodes of varying capabilities. However, if the energy in the network is not handled effectively, the resource-constrained sensors may reach an early death, affecting the network lifetime. Security and routing are the two vital phenomena in wireless sensor networks that need careful and effective algorithmic execution. The proposed approach is an energy-aware routing algorithm combined with secure data transmission. TDDSRP is an innovative protocol to ensure security while reducing energy consumption. The residual energy and the direct trust value of nodes are crucial parameters to evaluate the energy trust value. The effectiveness of the protocol is tested against the existing counterparts using MATLAB simulations. The experimental results illustrate the performance of the protocol in energy consumption rate, throughput, and security measures. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Online transactions are significant in the pandemic era. Using online transactions can minimize the risk of physical contact with disease transmission between buyers and sellers. However, with so many choices of items, it becomes challenging for users to decide which item suits their needs. For this reason, the recommender system was created as a handy tool. Recommender systems can help provide ratings, compare with other user data, use personal transaction history, use current events, or combine the above methods. Currently, computer science experts are constantly trying to improve recommender systems. In 2017 a new method emerged that uses transformers as one of the deep learning models. The combination of recommender systems and transformers can process extensive data, create different weights for each input data, and process data without sequentially allowing parallel processing and reducing training time significantly. Many papers in various countries are continuously trying to improve this methodology. In this literature review, we try to analyze the technology used, the dataset used, and the area where the technology is implemented. In this case, we carry out collecting papers, then filtering, classifying and analyzing, and making conclusions. © 2022 IEEE.

In this study, we use the CIMulator platform to evaluate the performance of neuromorphic accelerators with novel Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 (HZO) ferroelectric fin field-effect transistor (FefinFET) as synaptic device. The MNIST handwritten digit dataset is used for training and inference processes in multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural networks. With the highly optimized synaptic device, the results demonstrate high training and inference accuracy, achieving up to 97% for the MLP, approaching the accuracy of software implementations. © 2024 IEEE.
