Automated language translation involving low-resource language has gained wide interest from many research communities in the past decade. One lesson learned from the past COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in Indonesia, is that many local Governments have to release regular public announcements to keep people following health protocol especially when they are in public areas. Many studies showed some evidence that rural people in Indonesia which covers a large proportion of Indonesia's population, feel more convenience receiving official announcements in their local language. However, translating official announcement from the national language to many local languages in Indonesia require many experienced bilingual translators and time. This paper presents exploration results in developing an automated language translator model to translate texts in Bahasa Indonesia to the Sundanese language. In particular, this study aims to explore the effect of ReLU, Sigmoid, and Tanh activation functions of the Vanilla Transformer Model on its translation performance. The experiment results showed that the activation function under study gives similar training accuracy (0.98). However, ReLU achieves better performance than Tanh in terms of validation accuracy, training loss, and validation loss. © 2023 IEEE.

To get accurate data prediction results, it requires not only the right machine learning model, but also hyperparameters. Hyperparameters play an important role in shaping and optimizing the performance of machine learning models. Determining the right combination of model and hyperparameters is often a challenge. This research will use a hyperparameter search method, namely grid search. The aim of this research is to find out optimization best results from hyperparameters for several machine learning models using the Grid Search method and see the performance impact of using the grid search method for heart disease classification. Heart disease is a disease that has the potential to be fatal for humans if not treated quickly. Early detection can be done by utilizing machine learning models that are able to analyze data patterns from studied data sets. By training machine learning to study data sets related to heart disease, it is hoped that it will be able to carry out early detection of heart disease.

The advancement of mobile communication technology with entrepreneurial minds is advancing, and its use is increasingly playing an important role in business, marketing, and life. However, there are not many studies that focus on the role of mobile communication in the business world, especially those that focus on marketing. The purpose of writing this paper is to determine the status of research and the relationship between mobile communication in the field of marketing. The method used in this research is systematic literature review using the PRISMA protocol, involving 29 articles. Through quantitative analysis, we found that many years of article publication occurred mostly in 2020 due to the development of 5G technology. Australia is the largest article producing country in the world because many researchers are trying to examine public acceptance of mobile communication technology. The use of mobile communication is also mostly used in the marketing and segmentation processes in multilevel firm level marketing with multipoint mobile communication. On the other hand, articles with a marketing perspective that discuss price issues have never been discussed. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

In today's digitalization era, asset management has evolved following the rapid adoption of information systems and digital technologies. In the maintenance phase of the asset, Digital Twin (DT) emerges as an effective approach to improve failure recognition and structural damage prediction through DT-driven Prognostic and Health Monitoring (PHM). As a result, DT allows asset manager to proactively plan maintenance strategy to improve the availability of the assets. However, to reduce asset downtime in a cost-effective and time efficient manner, DT for maintenance phase needs to be integrated with other software systems that manage the provision of maintenance service and spare part such as computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Nevertheless, many of the developed DT in PHM were not equipped with semantic data model and hence, lacks interoperability with other systems (e.g., other DT or non-DT system) and limits the effective use of the DT. To qualify as an effective DT, it needs a semantical-enabled interface to connect with data and models from various domain to enable DT-driven decision-making. This paper leverages a rule-based ontology reasoning model to enhance DT interoperability with other maintenance software systems. The results depicts that the developed model paves a way for an effective use of DT-driven system in asset maintenance management. © 2022 IEEE.

Dropout is a particular concern for countries striving to increase human capital. Various attempts have been made by universities to minimize the number of dropouts. Machine learning has also developed various predictive models to determine the likelihood of students dropping out. However, there is a challenge in dropout data, specifically the problem of class imbalance, where the number of students who drop out (minority class) is significantly less than those who do not drop out (majority class). This imbalance can reduce the model's ability to classify students at risk of dropping out. This study proposes classification optimization using the Random Forest algorithm to handle class imbalances in student dropout data. To overcome class imbalance, the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) and Edited Nearest Neighbors (ENN) techniques are used. Additionally, the attribute selection method is also applied to enhance the predictive results. The test results demonstrate that the combination of implementing feature selection with Chi-Square, followed by class imbalance handling with SMOTE-ENN, provided the most optimal predictive performance for identifying the status of both dropouts and graduates. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper proposes an alternative detection frame-work for multiple sclerosis (MS) and idiopathic acute transverse myelitis (ATM) within the 6G-enabled Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) environment. The developed framework relies on the implementation of a deep learning technique known as Dense Convolutional Networks (DenseNets) in the 6G-enabled IoMT to enhance prediction performance. To validate the performance of DenseNets, we compared it with other deep learning techniques, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and MobileNet, using real-world datasets. The experimental results show the high performance of DenseNets in predicting MS and ATM compared to other methods, achieving an accuracy of nearly 90 %. © 2024 IEEE.

White matter hyperintensities (WMHs) are critical indicators of cerebral small vessel disease and are linked to stroke and cognitive decline. Accurate WHM segmentation is challenging due to limited contrast and small size, particularly for deep WMHs where T1-weighted and FLAIR MRI are routinely used. Image fusion offers a method to combine two modalities into one fused modality useful for WHM segmentation. We propose DeAFusion: Detail-Aware Image Fusion, a novel image fusion framework. This framework introduces a Pixel-wise Information Preservation Degree map to enable detailed control of fusion at the pixel level and incorporates segmentation loss to embed semantic information. Our model outperforms existing fusion methods in enhancing lesion visibility and preserving structural details, as demonstrated on both public and in-house datasets. Solar Dryer Dome (SDD), an agricultural facility for drying and preserving agricultural products, needs a smart ability to predict the future indoor climate accurately, including indoor temperature and indoor humidity, in order to optimize electricity usage. To overcome these challenges, deep learning has been a widely adopted method. This research aims to forecast the future indoor climate using time series data by implementing a sequence-to-sequence (seq2seq) architecture, which is mostly used in Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks. The two proposed seq2seq models, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) seq2seq and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) seq2seq, have proven to be superior to the adapted LSTM and GRU. The results show that the seq2seq GRU model outperforms the adapted GRU baseline model by an average difference of 0.03013 in MAE and the seq2seq LSTM model outperforms the adapted LSTM baseline model by an average difference of 0.00941 in MAE. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first implementation of seq2seq models for indoor climate forecasting on the Room Climate dataset. © 2022 IEEE.

WFSS: weighted fusion of spectral transformer and spatial self-attention for robust hyperspectral image classification against adversarial attacks

The emergence of adversarial examples poses a significant challenge to hyperspectral image (HSI) classification, as they can attack deep neural network-based models. Recent adversarial defense research tends to establish global connections of spatial pixels to resist adversarial attacks. However, it cannot yield satisfactory results when only spatial pixel information is used. Starting from the premise that the spectral band is equally important for HSI classification, this paper explores the impact of spectral information on model robustness. We aim to discover potential relationships between different spectral bands and establish global connections to resist adversarial attacks. We design a spectral transformer based on the transformer structure to model long-distance dependency relationships among spectral bands. Additionally, we use a self-attention mechanism in the spatial domain to develop global relationships among spatial pixels. Based on the above framework, we further explore the influence of both spectral and spatial domains on the robustness of the model against adversarial attacks. Specifically, a weighted fusion of spectral transformer and spatial self-attention (WFSS) is designed to achieve the multi-scale fusion of spectral and spatial connections, which further improves the model’s robustness. Comprehensive experiments on three benchmarks show that the WFSS framework has superior defensive capabilities compared to state-of-the-art HSI classification methods. © The Author(s) 2024.
