The development of research in the field of image generation can now be one of the tools to introduce a country's artistic culture. Indonesia is known as one of the countries with cultural diversity. Batik is one of Indonesia's most iconic cultural arts. GAN studies on batik have produced good images but still have a long training process. Several GAN techniques have been developed to create synthetic batik, one of the pioneering ones is BATIK-GAN which proposes a double flow model. Several GAN techniques have been developed to create good images, one of the best known and most widely used as a model is DCGAN due to its lightweight training and ability to produce good synthetic images. In this research we propose the Light Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Network model with Gradient penalty (LWGAN-GP) to be able to generate batik motif images. This model is proposed to produce a model that can perform a faster training process but can still produce good images. The experimental results of LWGAN-GP compared with DCGAN show that the computation time of DCGAN is faster than that of LWGAN-GP but LWGAN-GP is superior to the variety of images produced and is able to remain stable (without collapse mode).

In smart retail, the problem in grocery product image classification is fine-grained image representation. Product variants are characterized by differences in color, text, and size. However, while the process of image classification involves quite complex stages, there is still a misclassification of grocery products. This is because there are many areas of the image being calculated, which makes the models not optimally calculate the most important area. This paper aims to identify a number of patch image formations as an important area of the product by involving Binary Robust Invariant Scalable Keypoints (BRISK) as a feature descriptor, K-Means Clustering, and the elbow method. First, we experiment with the BRISK keypoint feature for grocery products with different categories of brands. Second, the keypoint features are clustered using K-Means clustering. Lastly, the number of clusters is analyzed using the elbow method to find the optimal number. The result shows that the number of clusters from 8 products has variations of 5, 5, and 6 clusters. Finally, each cluster represents an important area in forming patches to support fine-grained grocery product image classification.

Climate change will impact everyone. From more extreme weather to rising food prices, recreation, and reduced opportunities to appreciate nature, people everywhere will feel the impact. This study aims to develop and compare climate change prediction models with the CATBoost Regressor model. The dataset used includes historical climate data such as air temperature, greenhouse gas concentrations, and other atmospheric parameters. The research methods include data understanding, preprocessing, dataset sharing, modeling, model evaluation, and result analysis. The results show that the accuracy of the CATBoost Regressor is better than the XGBoost Regressor and Random Forest Regressor and provides the best performance with a Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) of 0.0559.

Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown remarkable potential in recommending everyday actions as personal AI assistants, while Explainable AI (XAI) techniques are being increasingly utilized to help users understand why a recommendation is given. Personal AI assistants today are often located on ultra-small devices such as smartwatches, which have limited screen space. The verbosity of LLM-generated explanations, however, makes it challenging to deliver glanceable LLM explanations on such ultra-small devices. To address this, we explored 1) spatially structuring an LLM's explanation text using defined contextual components during prompting and 2) presenting temporally adaptive explanations to users based on confidence levels. We conducted a user study to understand how these approaches impacted user experiences when interacting with LLM recommendations and explanations on ultra-small devices. The results showed that structured explanations reduced users' time to action and cognitive load when reading an explanation. Always-on structured explanations increased users' acceptance of AI recommendations. However, users were less satisfied with structured explanations compared to unstructured ones due to their lack of sufficient, readable details. Additionally, adaptively presenting structured explanations was less effective at improving user perceptions of the AI compared to the always-on structured explanations. Together with users' interview feedback, the results led to design implications to be mindful of when personalizing the content and timing of LLM explanations that are displayed on ultra-small devices. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

This research develops a conceptual model to understand the influence of digitalization on social learning, especially in the context of community empowerment. This model maps the relationship between factors that influence success, challenges faced, and variations in the use of digital platforms in social learning. By using a literature study approach, the research results show that effective communication, collaboration and empowerment are the main keys to the success of social learning in society. Key challenges identified include limited access to information, resource constraints, and digital literacy barriers, all of which require specific strategies to overcome. By examining the relationship between success factors, challenges, and use of digital platforms, this research provides new insights that support the development of more effective strategies for using digital technology to support social learning that leads to community empowerment. This research has great potential to increase people's access to learning opportunities and information, allowing them to be more active in the social learning process. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper investigates recent advancements and methodologies in Automatic Text Summarization, a field that has garnered significant attention for its ability to condense lengthy documents into concise summaries while preserving key information and themes. The study examines the development of Automatic Text Summarization models, including both extractive and abstractive approaches. Additionally, the research delves into the use of graph convolutional networks for text representation in e-commerce product review summarization. The study employs an e-commerce dataset in conjunction with a graph convolutional network model, covering stages from preprocessing and tokenization to constructing graph-based data representation. The expected outcome is a graph-structured representation of input text data derived from Indonesian-language e-commerce product reviews.

The use of balanced medical datasets is essential to improve the precision and accuracy of machine learning models in the healthcare field. However, dataset imbalance often becomes an obstacle, especially in the diagnosis of skin diseases. This research aims to develop a Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) method that is more effective in generating synthetic skin datasets to overcome problems in integrating medical datasets. The methods used include developing and training a GAN model to produce realistic synthetic skin images, with a focus on improving the quality and diversity of the synthetic data produced. Important results from this research show that the developed GAN model is able to produce synthetic skin images that are not only realistic but also able to balance the original dataset. The implications of these findings include improving the accuracy and performance of machine learning models in the diagnosis of skin diseases, as well as the potential use of these methods in other medical fields that face similar problems with imbalanced datasets.

This research shows that social learning can be used to increase an organization's cybersecurity maturity level. Using a literature study and case study approach. Literature studies are used to identify social learning's key success factors (KSF) and challenges in general. Then, the case study was performed in the context of assessing the maturity level of information security using the NIST Cybersecurity framework at ABC Software House, a small-scale software development company in Indonesia. Assessment activities are performed through FGDs which then also identify the most relevant social learning' KSF to increase the organization's information security maturity level. Next, referring to the selected KSF, a process of identifying and mapping social learning' challenges was carried out. The integration of social learning can help organizations gain better focus and understanding in nontechnical contexts to increase their maturity level. This research highlights that integrating social learning with the NIST cybersecurity framework can provide organizations with better focus and perspective for formulating non-technical solutions. This study also enriches the existing literature on social learning in cybersecurity and offers practical insights for organizations looking to improve their cybersecurity resilience. © 2024 IEEE.

Supplier evaluation has a crucial role in maintaining efficiency in the food industry supply chain. Machine learning approaches can be employed to formulate models aimed at analyzing and evaluating supplier performance. Previous research has successfully designed decision tree and neural network models for assessing suppliers in the food industry with accuracies of 84.2% and 92.8% separately. Recognizing the opportunity to improve the model's performance, this study aims to advancing the machine learning models accuracy for analyzing and evaluating suppliers in the food industry. Two main models are proposed to enhance model accuracy: ensemble methods and support vector machine. This research has successfully designed a supplier evaluation model and demonstrated that the ensemble method - gradient boosting model outperforms other ensemble methods and support vector machine which is achieved a accuracy of 93.6% on a cross-validation dataset. The development of a dashboard is required to implement the supplier evaluation model using machine learning, facilitating decision-makers in evaluating and controlling supplier performance. © 2023 The Authors.
