Memory prefetching plays a vital role in enhancing processor performance, with modern processors using various prefetching methods to manage data access patterns efficiently. Traditional prefetchers work well with predetermined patterns but struggle with the unpredictability of modern applications. Advanced techniques, especially those employing machine learning, aim to predict and prefetch data based on complex spatiotemporal patterns, yet they face significant challenges like the class explosion problem and labeling issues. This study proposes a Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) deep learning model to dynamically adapt to intricate access patterns, addressing these limitations by leveraging features, localization, and semantic locality to improve prediction accuracy and adaptability. By integrating insights from traditional and machine learning-based approaches, this model seeks to optimize data prefetching, advancing memory system efficiency and ultimately enhancing overall processor performance. These contributions provide a robust framework for designing adaptive and efficient processors that can meet the demands of modern computing environments. ©2024 IEEE.

Digital Twin (DT) technology has emerged as a cornerstone in modern engineering, enabling real-time digital replication of physical assets for monitoring, diagnostics, and optimization. However, as DTs become increasingly integrated into critical infrastructure, their security has become a paramount concern. This paper presents a comprehensive survey on the integration of Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) into Digital Twin security, highlighting the potential of XAI in enhancing the transparency, interpretability, and trustworthiness of AI - driven security mechanisms in DTs. We explore various XAI techniques, including model- agnostic approaches, interpretable neural networks, and rule-based systems, detailing their potential applications in bolstering the security of Digital Twins. Furthermore, we identify several key challenges in implementing XAI for DT security, such as the need for standardized metrics for interpretability, the trade-offs between model complexity and explainability, and the potential for adversarial attacks on explainable models. Through our analysis, we highlight the critical research gaps, including the security of Digital Twin (DT) systems and explores the integration of Explainable AI (XAI) to enhance transparency, interpretability, and trustworthiness. Outcomes include detailed XAI applications for DT security, identification of limitations, and a roadmap for future research. We discuss various XAI techniques, their applications, and the current challenges in implementing XAI for DT security. Our survey identifies key research gaps and offers a roadmap for future research in this emerging field. © 2025 IEEE.

When data privacy is imposed as a necessity,Federated learning(FL)emerges as a relevant artificial intelligence field for developing machine learning(ML)models in a distributed and decentralized *** allows ML models to be trained on local devices without any need for centralized data transfer,thereby reducing both the exposure of sensitive data and the possibility of data interception by malicious third *** paradigm has gained momentum in the last few years,spurred by the plethora of real-world applications that have leveraged its ability to improve the efficiency of distributed learning and to accommodate numerous participants with their data *** virtue of FL,models can be learned from all such distributed data sources while preserving data *** aim of this paper is to provide a practical tutorial on FL,including a short methodology and a systematic analysis of existing software ***,our tutorial provides exemplary cases of study from three complementary perspectives:i)Foundations of FL,describing the main components of FL,from key elements to FL categories;ii)Implementation guidelines and exemplary cases of study,by systematically examining the functionalities provided by existing software frameworks for FL deployment,devising a methodology to design a FL scenario,and providing exemplary cases of study with source code for different ML approaches;and iii)Trends,shortly reviewing a non-exhaustive list of research directions that are under active investigation in the current FL *** ultimate purpose of this work is to establish itself as a referential work for researchers,developers,and data scientists willing to explore the capabilities of FL in practical applications.

Pattern recognition of grooves in human lips for improved authentication in cyber-physical systems using U-Net architecture

Latent Lip groove application is been a notable topic in forensic applications like crime and other investigations. The detection of lip movement is been a challenging task since it is a smaller integral part of the human face. The conventional models operate on the available public or private dataset but it is constrained to the large population and unconstrained environment. The study aims at developing a deep learning model in a multimodal system using the deep U-Net Convolutional Neural Network architecture. It also aims at improving biometric authentication through a deep pattern recognition that involves the feature extraction of grooves present in the human lips. An examination of grooves present in the input lip image is conducted by the present system to check the authenticity of the person entering the cyber-physical systems. The lip images are collected from the public security cameras via high-definition cameras in crowded areas that help the proposed method in forensic investigation and further, it considers various unconstrained scenarios to improve the efficacy of the system. The study involves initially pre-processing of lip image, and feature extraction of lip grooves to improve the efficacy of the lip trait. The simulation is conducted on the MATLAB tool to examine the efficacy of the model against various existing methods. Further, the study does not take into account the datasets available on the websites and lip images are only collected from a large set population in a real-time environment. The results of the simulation show that the proposed method achieves a higher degree of accuracy in extracting the grooves from the input lip images. © 2023 - IOS Press. All rights reserved.

Graphs find wide applications in numerous domains, ranging from simulating physical systems to learning molecular fingerprints, predicting protein interfaces, diagnosing diseases, etc. These applications encompass simulations in non-Euclidean space, in which a graph serves as an ideal representation, and are also an indispensable means of illustrating the connections and interdependencies among its various constituents. Graph neural networks (GNNs) are specific types of neural networks that are specifically built to handle data possessing a graph structure. They are highly effective at capturing intricate relationships among different entities. Nonetheless, their "black-box" characteristics pose difficulties in transparency, trust, and interpretability, especially in critical sectors like heath care, banking, and autonomous systems. Explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) has emerged to clarify these obscure decision-making processes, thus enhancing trust and accountability in AI systems. This survey paper delves into the intricate interplay between GNNs and XAI, including an exhaustive taxonomy of the various explainability methods designed for graph-structured data. It classifies the existing explainability methods into post hoc and self-interpretable models. The paper analyzes their practical applications in diversified fields, highlighting the significance of transparent GNNs in essential sectors such as fraud detection, drug development, and network security. The survey also delineates evaluation parameters for assessing explainability along with addressing persistent issues in scalability and fairness. The paper concludes by addressing prospective advancements in the subject, including the creation of innovative XAI methodologies tailored for GNN architectures, integration with federated learning, and utilization of these models in interdisciplinary fields. The invention of Phasor Measurement Units(PMUs)produce synchronized phasor measurements with high resolution real time monitoring and control of power system in smart grids that make *** are used in transmitting data to Phasor Data Concentrators(PDC)placed in control centers for monitoring purpose.A primary concern of system operators in control centers is maintaining safe and efficient operation of the power *** can be achieved by continuous monitoring of the PMU data that contains both normal and abnormal *** normal data indicates the normal behavior of the grid whereas the abnormal data indicates fault or abnormal conditions in power *** a result,detecting anomalies/abnormal conditions in the fast flowing PMU data that reflects the status of the power system is critical.A novel methodology for detecting and categorizing abnormalities in streaming PMU data is presented in this *** proposed method consists of three modules namely,offline Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM),online GMM for identifying anomalies and clustering ensemble model for classifying the *** significant features of the proposed method are detecting anomalies while taking into account of multivariate nature of the PMU dataset,adapting to concept drift in the flowing PMU data without retraining the existing model unnecessarily and classifying the *** proposed model is implemented in Python and the testing results prove that the proposed model is well suited for detection and classification of anomalies on the fly.

Functional brain data analysis is important in diagnosing neurological disorders, yet constructing high-resolution (HR) brain graphs from low-resolution (LR) although the data presents some computational challenges. This paper introduces the Brain Graph Super-Resolution (BGSR) method that leverages generative adversarial networks (GANs) to directly generate HR graphs from LR data. By bypassing complex image processes, BGSR enhances diagnostic accuracy efficiently while retaining the features. This paper explains BGSR' s methodology, detailing its implementation steps and emphasizing its potential to revolutionize neurological disorder diagnosis. Experimental results demonstrate BGSR's effectiveness in improving diagnostic precision compared to traditional methods. It is possible to tell a lot about a person just by looking at their handwriting. The way someone writes might tell you a lot about who, they are as a person. There has been a lot of study on the possibility of deducing aspects of a person’s character from their handwriting. In this piece, we’ll look at the different personality qualities and how they might be utilized to make an evaluation. The report includes a dataset showing a correlation between several traits of personality. The Big Five Personality Traits are mapped using handwritten personality data. It was suggested that a comparison table should be used to spot distinctive character quirks. The article includes a review of previous studies and an assessment of the current status of the topic.
