Opinion mining is an important task in natural language processing. The MPQA Opinion Corpus is a fine-grained and comprehensive dataset of private states (i.e., the condition of a source who has an attitude which may be directed toward a target) based on context. Although this dataset was released years ago, because of its complex definition of annotations and hard-to-read data format, almost all existing research works have only focused on a small subset of the dataset. In this paper, we present a comprehensive study of the entire MPQA 2.0 dataset. In order to achieve this goal, we first provide a clean version of MPQA 2.0 in a more interpretable format. Then, we propose two novel approaches for opinion mining, establishing new high baselines for future work. We use two pre-trained large language models, BERT and T5, to automatically identify the type, polarity, and intensity of private states expressed in phrases, and we use T5 to detect opinion expressions and their agents (i.e., sources). © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

A recent trend has shown constructions of 6-bit S-boxes that are mostly focused on their cryptographic elegance, while their lightweight aspects have not really been addressed well. This paper attempts to plug-in this existing research gap where we show how the composite structure of the extension field F26 could be leveraged. An earlier well-known example is an efficient implementation of AES S-box using the tower field extension of F28. The case of F2ab is completely different from any tower field as the implementation varies as per the choice of extension – for instance, F(2a)b or F(2b)a, where a and b are prime. Thus, it makes the implementation of S-boxes over F26 = F2(2×3) very interesting. In this work, we systematically study the composite field structure of F26 from a hardware standpoint for a class of S-boxes that are power mapping or their affine equivalents. We analyze the hardware efficiency with respect to different representations of the field extension, i.e., F(22)3or F(23)2. Furthermore, for each extension, we investigate the impact of various choices of bases – for instance, we present the evidence of the effect that normal or polynomial bases have on the implementation. This gives us further insight on the choice of basis with respect to the field extension. In the process, we present a special normal basis, when used in conjunction with F(23)2 results in the least (or very close to least) area in terms of GE for the 18 (6 quadratic and 12 cubic) S-boxes studied in this work. The special normal basis reported here has some algebraic properties which make it inherently hardware friendly and allow us to predict the area reduction, without running a tool. Overall, this work constitutes an extensive hardware characterization of a class of cryptographically significant 6-bit S-boxes giving us interesting insights into the systematic lightweight implementation of S-boxes without relying on an automated tool. © 2024, Ruhr-University of Bochum. Recently, Deep Image Prior (DIP) has emerged as an effective unsupervised one-shot learner, delivering competitive results across various image recovery problems. This method only requires the noisy measurements and a forward operator, relying solely on deep networks initialized with random noise to learn and restore the structure of the data. However, DIP is notorious for its vulnerability to overfitting due to the overparameterization of the network. Building upon insights into the impact of the DIP input and drawing inspiration from the gradual denoising process in cutting-edge diffusion models, we introduce Autoencoding Sequential DIP (aSeqDIP) for image reconstruction. This method progressively denoises and reconstructs the image through a sequential optimization of network weights. This is achieved using an input-adaptive DIP objective, combined with an autoencoding regularization term. Compared to diffusion models, our method does not require training data and outperforms other DIP-based methods in mitigating noise overfitting while maintaining a similar number of parameter updates as Vanilla DIP. Through extensive experiments, we validate the effectiveness of our method in various image reconstruction tasks, such as MRI and CT reconstruction, as well as in image restoration tasks like image denoising, inpainting, and non-linear deblurring. High-utility itemset mining(HUIM)can consider not only the profit factor but also the profitable factor,which is an essential task in data ***,most HUIM algorithms are mainly developed on a single machine,which is inefficient for big data since limited memory and processing capacities are available.A parallel efficient high-utility itemset mining(P-EFIM)algorithm is proposed based on the Hadoop platform to solve this problem in this *** P-EFIM,the transaction-weighted utilization values are calculated and ordered for the itemsets with the MapReduce *** the ordered itemsets are renumbered,and the low-utility itemsets are pruned to improve the dataset *** the Map phase,the P-EFIM algorithm divides the task into multiple independent *** uses the proposed S-style distribution strategy to distribute the subtasks evenly across all nodes to ensure ***,the P-EFIM uses the EFIM algorithm to mine each subtask dataset to enhance the performance in the Reduce *** are performed on eight datasets,and the results show that the runtime performance of P-EFIM is significantly higher than that of the PHUI-Growth,which is also HUIM algorithm based on the Hadoop framework.

Unmanned Ground Robots (UGVs) are increasingly becoming vital tools in disaster relief operations, offering a means to navigate through hazardous environments where human intervention may be risky or impossible. These intelligent robots are designed to perform a variety of tasks, such as searching for survivors, delivering supplies, and assessing damage. However, the effectiveness of UGVs in such critical missions largely depends on their ability to navigate complex and unpredictable terrains, a challenge that necessitates advanced path-planning strategies. The paper introduces a novel approach to path planning for UGVs in disaster relief scenarios. This approach combines the strengths of advanced rapidly Rapidly-exploring Random Trees (RRT) algorithms with the capabilities of YOLOv4, a state-of-the-art technique for object detection, specifically tailored here for human detection. RRT algorithms are known for their efficiency in exploring complex spaces, making them ideal for navigating through the unpredictable terrains typical of disaster zones. Meanwhile, YOLOv4 enhances the UGVs' ability to detect and respond to human presence, a critical requirement in rescue operations. The UGVs equipped with this novel path-planning strategy were able to navigate safely and efficiently, adapting to the dynamic nature of the environment. More importantly, the accuracy in detecting human presence was significantly improved, a crucial factor in ensuring that aid and rescue efforts are directed where they are most needed. By enhancing the path planning capabilities of UGVs with advanced algorithms and human detection technology, this approach holds the potential to revolutionize disaster response operations, making them more efficient and impactful, ultimately leading to faster and more effective aid delivery to those in dire need. © 2024 IEEE.

Convergence of Blockchain, k-medoids and homomorphic encryption for privacy preserving biomedical data classification

Data privacy on the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) remains a critical concern when handling biomedical data. While extant studies focus on cryptography and differential privacy, few of them capture the utility and authenticity of data. As a result, data privacy remains the primary concern when training a machine learning (ML) model with IoMT data from various data sources/owners such as k − medoids. To overcome the above-mentioned issues, this study proposes secure k − medoids that are implemented together with Blockchain and partial homomorphic cryptosystem (Paillier) to ensure authenticity and protect all entities (i.e., data owner and data analyst) data privacy. The homomorphic property of Paillier is utilized to develop secure building blocks (i.e., secure polynomial operations, secure comparison, and secure biasing operations) to ensure data privacy and eliminate dependency on any third parties. We utilized three different biomedical datasets, and these are (I) Heart Disease Data (HDD), (II) Diabetes Data (DD), and (III) Breast Cancer Wisconsin Data (BCWD). Rigorous security analysis demonstrates that secure k − medoids protect against sensitive data breaches. It also showed superior performance in both BCWD (Accuracy 97.80%, Precision 96.83%, and Recall 99.80%) and HDD (Accuracy 82.50%, Precision 81.28%, and Recall 80.50%) datasets, respectively. However, similar performance was not reflected in the case of the DD dataset. Furthermore, the study explains why such performance results are observed. In addition, the proposed system has been proven to take less execution time compared to the extant studies. © 2022 The Authors

A large amount of data is collected, analysed, and used on a regular basis by a large number of people for web pages, books, journals, and files which make up a significant portion of the data on the Internet. The burden on significant content-based retrieval and other applications is increasing as the volume of surveillance video data grows. Therefore to reduce the burden during retrieval and to solve the problem of video surveillance an ontology based video retrieval by feature extraction and classification techniques is proposed. In the Initial step the examined form of description files in OWL (Web Ontology Language is fed as input. Then the video pre-processed and segmented before extracting the features. The features of video has been extracted using "Hidden Markov Logic Model With Edge Histogram Descriptor (HMLM-EHD)"in which the spatio based features are extracted with Shape-based features that define object shapes in image is extracted from object contours or regions. After the extraction of features, classification is done using Bayesian network based active learning. The retrieval subsystem evaluates the provided query, performs similarity matching operations (which can be done using the correlation Distance Algorithm), and finally provides the result to the end user for these categorised video frames. The experimental results shows retrieved video frames and their parametric analysis in terms of accuracy of 94%, precision of 85%, recall of 71 % and F-1 score of 73%. © 2023 IEEE.
