Antenna Optimization using Machine Learning Algorithms and their Applications: A Review

Antenna optimization using machine learning is a rapidly evolving field that leverages the power of artificial intelligence to design and improve antenna systems. Antenna optimization is a process of modifying antenna parameters to achieve desired performance metrics, such as gain, bandwidth, radiation pattern, and impedance matching. This paper presents a review of the most advanced development in antenna design and optimization by using machine learning techniques. The aim of this survey is to focus on different machine learning optimization techniques and their optimization capability with efficiency challenges. A deep outline from literature survey on optimization of antennas using machine learning are presented and listing various optimization algorithms and procedures that are applied to produce desired antenna characteristics and specifications. Firstly, a brief introduction of machine learning and its algorithms, later a quick explanation of antenna optimization process followed by an arranged introduction of different types of printed antenna designs using machine learning algorithm are reported. The methods emphasized in this survey have probably an effect on the imminent advancement of antennas for a variety of wireless applications. © (2024), (International Hellenic University – School of science). Capturing multiple emotions from conversational data using fine tuned transformers

Emotion detection is one of the crucial topics of Natural Language Processing (NLP) in recent years, and now one of the biggest motivating factors in correct identification and interpretation of a wide range of emotional expressions in textual data. This research examines the use of Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT), a trained transformer model for emotion detection in textual data. This analysis evaluates how good BERT is at identifying emotions such as surprise, anger, fear, happiness and sadness compared with ordinary machine learning as well as deep learning techniques. The addition of weighted emotions approach enhances the model performance and gives a deeper emotional context awareness making it more effective to deal with complicated emotional utterances. The purpose of the research is to develop a fine-tuned BERT model with a weighted emotion framework to enhance the accuracy of emotion classification in conversational text. The context is improving emotion recognition in scenarios where multiple emotions co-exist, addressing limitations in traditional models by capturing subtle and overlapping emotional expressions. In terms of training the methods multiple datasets are considered and also the research examines various models performance. The article further discusses possible application areas of BERT modified in light of NLP. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Cultivating road safety: A comprehensive examination of intelligent ensemble-based road crack detection

Detecting and promptly identifying cracks on road surfaces is of paramount importance for preserving infrastructure integrity and ensuring the safety of road users, including both drivers and pedestrians. Presently, the predominant approach for crack detection relies on labor-intensive and costly manual inspections, exacerbated by the enduring challenge of concrete road cracks susceptible to environmental factors like temperature fluctuations, heavy traffic loads, and prolonged exposure to harsh weather conditions. This paper presents a comprehensive research initiative aimed at advancing road crack detection techniques. The proposed method leverages a classical Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) in conjunction with the Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) for efficient feature extraction and classification. A pivotal breakthrough is achieved by replacing the fully connected layer of the CNN with ELM, thus circumventing the time-consuming backpropagation process and significantly expediting the training process. This integration harnesses ELM’s swift learning capabilities and strong generalization performance, complemented by the CNN’s exceptional feature extraction abilities. The model’s effectiveness is rigorously assessed using the wide recognized CCIC, SDNET2018, and Synthesized datasets, and its proficiency in distinguishing between Crack and No-Crack regions is demonstrated through various performance metrics. Furthermore, the model’s performance is benchmarked against existing deep learning models using these performance metrics, showcasing its superior performance. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

This systematic review gave special attention to diabetes and the advancements in food and nutrition needed to prevent or manage diabetes in all its forms. There are two main forms of diabetes mellitus: Type 1 (T1D) and Type 2 (T2D). The loss of beta cells brought on by an autoimmune reaction causes the pancreas to be unable to produce enough insulin, which leads to Type 1 diabetes. A deficiency of insulin could arise as the illness worsens. The most frequent cause is a combination of excessive body weight and inadequate exercise. Currently, 90–95% of patients have Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Age-specific normal blood sugar ranges exist and knowing them is crucial for determining a target blood sugar level that is both healthy and appropriate. The main takeaway is that diet regimens ought to be tailored to the patient’s requirements and should account for their capacity for change. Carbohydrates are the nutrients that have the biggest impact on the rise in blood glucose. In this paper, we have proposed a novel method for glucose monitoring and diet recommendations for diabetic patients using fog computing. A paradigm known as fog computing makes use of the benefits that come from using both cloud and edge devices to support modern computing systems by offering high-quality services, cutting latency, facilitating mobility, supporting multi-tenancy, and many other features. © 2025 by Begell House, Inc.

Extractive text summarization on medical insights using fine-tuned transformers

Text summarization is a fundamental Natural language processing task that plays a crucial role in efficiently condensing large textual documents into concise and clear summaries for human comprehension. The amount of data being generated in the medical domain nowadays requires substantial application of the current deep learning approaches such as transformers. The main goal of this research is to extract relevant summaries from the abstracts of the research articles published related to cancer, blood cancer, tinnitus, and Alzheimer's. As the domain-related data requires special attention, our approach uses a fine-tuned transformer model, to guarantee that the summaries produced are not only brief but also accurate. Moreover, as a part of this research, we have effectively collected the information from PubMed and also prepared the data for analysis. A comparative analysis of the Bidirectional and Auto-Regressive Transformers (BART), Text-to-Text Transfer Transformer (T5), Textrank, and Lexrank models on the dataset is carried out in this study to understand the medical insights effectively. The fine-tuned transformer's performance in comparison with other models brings out a newer dimension for future studies. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Brain signal analysis from electroencephalogram(EEG)recordings is the gold standard for diagnosing various neural disorders especially epileptic *** signals are highly chaotic compared to normal brain signals and thus can be identified from EEG *** the current seizure detection and classification landscape,most models primarily focus on binary classification—distinguishing between seizure and non-seizure *** effective for basic detection,these models fail to address the nuanced stages of seizures and the intervals between *** identification of per-seizure or interictal stages and the timing between seizures is crucial for an effective seizure alert *** granularity is essential for improving patient-specific interventions and developing proactive seizure management *** study addresses this gap by proposing a novel AI-based approach for seizure stage classification using a Deep Convolutional Neural Network(DCNN).The developed model goes beyond traditional binary classification by categorizing EEG recordings into three distinct classes,thus providing a more detailed analysis of seizure *** enhance the model’s performance,we have optimized the DCNN using two advanced techniques:the Stochastic Gradient Algorithm(SGA)and the evolutionary Genetic Algorithm(GA).These optimization strategies are designed to fine-tune the model’s accuracy and ***,k-fold cross-validation ensures the model’s reliability and generalizability across different data *** and validated on the Bonn EEG data sets,the proposed optimized DCNN model achieved a test accuracy of 93.2%,demonstrating its ability to accurately classify EEG *** summary,the key advancement of the present research lies in addressing the limitations of existing models by providing a more detailed seizure classification system,thus potentially enhancing the effectiveness of real-time seizure prediction and management systems in clinic

A threefold chaotic image encryption technique for efficacious image data protection

With the profound use of digital contents in education and social media, multimedia content have become a prevalent means of communication and with such rapid increase, information security is still a major concern. This paper provides a summary of the techniques of securing image data focusing primarily on encryption. This paper additionally also explores the contribution of chaos theory in the domain of image encryption and applies a threefold chaotic map sequence to design an image encryption technique. This chaos-based encryption technique renders characteristics like sensitivity, determinacy, and ergodicity, and hence provides a better trade-off between security and computational speed. The efficacy of proposed algorithm is also evaluated based on well-known statistical metrics like Number of Changing Pixel Rate (NPCR), Unified Average Changing Intensity (UACI), Information Entropy, local Entropy, Correlation analysis, key sensitivity analysis, and NIST Randomness test. Furthermore, the key sensitivity analysis is also discussed which is a major part of any encryption algorithm analysis. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Hybrid optimization assisted deep ensemble classification framework for skin cancer detection

In 2018, there were 1 million occurrences of non-melanoma cancer and 288,000 occurrences of malignant skin cancer (MM) recorded worldwide. Given the aging of the population and limited resources for medical care, a complete strategy to prevent skin cancer must include both practical detection and accurate diagnosis. Dermatologists and family physicians may find it challenging to identify skin cancer, particularly MM, at an early phase. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a paradigm for skin cancer detection, where pre-processing is the initial step for which median filter (MF) is employed. The pre-processed image undergoes segmentation, which is done by an Improved DBSCAN approach. Once the segmentation is over, features like "GLCM, Local Binary pattern (LBP), Local Vector Pattern (LVP), and Improved Center Symmetric Local Ternary Pattern (CSLTP)" are extracted. This is the final phase, where an ensemble classifier (EC) that combines the models like "Convolutional Neural network (CNN), Long Short Term Memory (LSTM), and Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit (Bi-GRU)" is deployed. Further, weights of CNN, Bi-GRU, and LSTM are tuned by Hawks Updated Blue Monkey Algorithm with Gaussian Map Randomness (HUBM-GMR) based hybrid optimization. This survey paper explores recent advancements in neural rendering, focusing on the development and impact of Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF). Initially, 3D reconstruction relied on methods such as Photogrammetry, Structure from Motion (SfM), and Image-Based Rendering (IBR). While these techniques provided foundational approaches for creating 3D models from 2D images, they were limited in resolution, texture fidelity, and computational efficiency. IBR, in particular, was crucial in producing photorealistic environments using actual photographs but faced challenges in terms of flexibility and rendering complex scenes. NeRF emerged as a novel solution, utilizing neural networks to render 3D scenes from 2D images with improved realism and efficiency. This paper examines four key areas of advancement in the post-NeRF era: 1) Training and Rendering Speed: Enhancements in the efficiency of neural rendering algorithms;2) Quality: Improvements in image realism and texture representation. 3) 3D Geometry/Reconstruction: Advancements in achieving accurate and detailed 3D models;and 4) Neural Scene Editing: Innovations enabling dynamic modifications in neural-rendered scenes. The escalating sophistication of counterfeit face currency demands innovative solutions for robust detection. In this study, we propose LBPNET, a novel approach employing Local Binary Pattern (LBP) feature extraction and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to address the challenges posed by realistic fake currencies. LBP descriptors are extracted from currency images, capturing subtle patterns invisible to the human eye. These descriptors serve as inputs for a CNN, named LBPNET, trained to discern genuine from counterfeit face currencies. The model undergoes a comprehensive training phase, incorporating diverse currency images, to establish a generalized and adaptive detection system. In testing, new currency images are evaluated using the trained LBPNET to identify the presence of fake or non-fake currency, showcasing the model's adaptability to emerging counterfeit variations. This approach integrates machine learning and image processing to enhance detection capabilities, offering a promising solution for the evolving landscape of counterfeit face currency across forensic and social media domains. © 2025 IEEE.
