This work develops a novel virtual production controlsystem (VPCS), which is allocated on a manufacturer side to adjust production pace of a supplier using a short-term demand plan for reducing inventory level. In addition to remotely monitoring production progress of a supplier, the proposed VPCS allows manufacturers to pre-schedule the latest outputs using an integer programming model, to simulate the short-term plan by a stochastic colored timed Petri Nets, and to adjust the production pace of the supplier via the plan. An industrial case study shows that the supplier inventory was reduced by 13.8% over that of the real inventory level with an order-fill rate exceeding 99.6% using the proposed VPCS.

In this paper we present the fusion advanced studies torus (FAST) equilibrium configurations, designed by means of the ITM FIXFREE code version for reproducing those of ITER (with scaled plasma current) and suitable to fulfil plasma conditions for integrated studies of plasma-wall interaction, burning plasma physics, ITER relevant operation problems and steady state scenarios. FIXFREE is a toroidal multipolar expansions equilibrium code, recently ported to the Integrated Tokamak Modelling (ITM) Gateway platform. The European ITM Task Force opted for the open source workflow system Kepler to link various codes and coordinate the data flow among them. A description of the development of the FIXFREE code under the Kepler environment will be given in this paper.

An automatic virtual metrology framework (AVMF) for the TFT-LCD industry is designed and implemented in this paper. The AVMF has capabilities of creating VM models, deploying and refreshing VM models, monitoring and managing VM systems remotely, storing model data and conjectured results centrally, and providing various friendly graphical user interfaces. Pluggable interfaces and functional modules are developed in the AVMF. Thus, by plugging the associated functional module according to desired requirements, the AVMF can be applied to different types of equipment. In turn, applying the AVMF to all pieces of equipment in the factory can be easily achieved. A paradigm AVM system for our cooperative TFT-LCD company is constructed. Integrated testing results show that the paradigm AVMS works smoothly, meets the desired functional requirements, and demonstrates a good performance. It is believed that the developed AVMF can be practically applied in the TFT-LCD industries.

In recent years, dynamics model and control of space robot system are the hot topics in the research field. In this paper, a new dynamics model and control strategy of space robotic system with a flexible manipulator and a liquid fuel tank are investigated. Based on Lagrange equation method, the dynamics model of the space robotic system coupling with liquid sloshing, flexibility vibration and base movement is derived. The elastic deflection of the flexible manipulator is described by the assumed mode method and equivalent mechanical model is adopted instead of liquid sloshing under the environment of low-gravity. The inverse dynamics control algorithm combined with PD control method is performed to solve the trajectory tracking problem. Some simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Because of strong coupling, nonlinear, and time-varying characteristics, it is difficult to control complex spacecraft. By means of combining with controlled object dynamics and performance requirements, characteristic modeling and control approach is an effective way to solve this problem. Aimed at the flexible satellites described by using characteristic modeling approach, with the help of fuzzy rules, fuzzy dynamic characteristic modeling method and intelligent adaptive controller are designed to control this complex spacecraft. Meanwhile, based on the satellite system simulation platform, we validate the correctness and efficiency of the proposed modeling and control method by comparing with the simulation results of the other similar methods.

Dynamic programming provides a method to solve hybrid optimal control problems. This contribution extends existing numerical methods originally developed for purely continuous systems, to a class of hybrid systems with autonomous as well as controlled switching behavior. The hybrid dynamics is approximated by a locally consistent discrete Markov decision process. The original optimal control problem is then reformulated for the Markov decision process and solved by standard dynamic programming methods. The convergence of the discrete approximation to the original problem is ensured. The viability of the numerical scheme is illustrated by a two gear transmission system used previously in literature.
