This study proposes, a new heuristic algorithm based on insertion heuristic to solve the symmetric Travelling Salesman Problem. In the proposed algorithm, firstly the two longest edges are selected and the starting tour passing through their endpoints is constructed, then the endpoints of the next longest edges are added to this tour and the solution passing through all the vertices is found. This problem is known to be NP-Hard. The proposed method was successfully tested on different-sized problems. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms many existing methods. © 2023 IEEE.

The Internet of Things(IoT)is a modern approach that enables connection with a wide variety of devices *** to the resource constraints and open nature of IoT nodes,the routing protocol for low power and lossy(RPL)networks may be vulnerable to several routing ***’s why a network intrusion detection system(NIDS)is needed to guard against routing assaults on RPL-based IoT *** imbalance between the false and valid attacks in the training set degrades the performance of machine learning employed to detect network ***,we propose in this paper a novel approach to balance the dataset classes based on metaheuristic optimization applied to locality-sensitive hashing and synthetic minority oversampling technique(LSH-SMOTE).The proposed optimization approach is based on a new hybrid between the grey wolf and dipper throated optimization *** prove the effectiveness of the proposed approach,a set of experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of NIDS for three cases,namely,detection without dataset balancing,detection with SMOTE balancing,and detection with the proposed optimized LSHSOMTE *** results showed that the proposed approach outperforms the other approaches and could boost the detection *** addition,a statistical analysis is performed to study the significance and stability of the proposed *** conducted experiments include seven different types of attack cases in the RPL-NIDS17 *** on the 2696 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 proposed approach,the achieved accuracy is(98.1%),sensitivity is(97.8%),and specificity is(98.8%).

We introduce a novel differentially private algorithm for online federated learning that employs temporally correlated noise to enhance utility while ensuring privacy of continuously released models. To address challenges posed by DP noise and local updates with streaming non-iid data, we develop a perturbed iterate analysis to control the impact of the DP noise on the utility. Moreover, we demonstrate how the drift errors from local updates can be effectively managed under a quasi-strong convexity condition. Subject to an (, δ) DP budget, we establish a dynamic regret bound over the entire time horizon, quantifying the impact of key parameters and the intensity of changes in dynamic environments. Numerical experiments confirm the efficacy of the proposed algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

The main goal of the paper is to develop automatic control design methods for flexible aircraft. The motivation for the research is that such automatic control generation enables the inclusion of the control design algorithms into the multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) of aircraft design. In such an extended MDO framework, called co-design, the sizing, structural dynamics, aerodynamics and the controllers of the aircraft are optimized in one single step. This way control technologies can be included early-on in the preliminary design stage of aircraft design. Since the control design is model based, first a control oriented aeroservoelastic (ASE) model needs to be developed. The modeling is done via the bottomup modelling approach. The model generation also needs to be automatic due to parameter changes resulting from the MDO process. The research focuses on flexible aircraft, therefore, the control algorithms include baseline, manoeuvre load alleviation, gust load alleviation and flutter suppression controllers. All of these algorithms needs to be developed in such way that they can automatically executed in the MDO process. The overall MDO framework is implemented in the Remote Component Environment (RCE) and the aircraft investigated is the T-Flex demonstrator of the FLIPASED project. The paper presents the main concepts of the modeling and control synthesis, analysis for the above mentioned four controllers and the most important aspects of integrating such automatic control design methods into the RCE environment. © 2023, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc, AIAA. In response to the escalating demand for electricity, the aging process and inherent failures in power lines have become unavoidable challenges in their operational integrity. This research addresses the imperative need for a robust method to detect damage in power insulator disc images, introducing a novel feature extraction technique grounded in color intensity profile transformation and ensemble learning. For the purposes of the research, a specific dataset was developed based on publicly available images of power insulators. The collection consists of 9232 images of insulator discs which included 2184 images of damaged discs. The discernible damages include breakages and burnouts. Two distinct analysis variants were employed. In the first variant (V1), two classification groups were selected: disc with damages and disc without damages. In the second variant (V2), three classification groups were selected: discs without damage, broken discs, and burnout discs. The described research was divided into two successive stages. In the first of them (S1), the transformed color intensity profiles for the prepared data set were built and various machine learning models for their classification were trained and evaluated. In the next stage (S2), previously developed, highest efficient machine learning models, were used to make the detection of various damaged types of overhead line insulator discs. For the first stage of research high-performance results and a high value of the F1 score parameters were obtained (F1 score = 0.999 for the first variant (S1V1) and F1 score = 0.992 for the second variant (S1V2). In the second stage of research and the first variant (S2V1), the highest result of the F1 score was 0.932 and for the second variant (S2V2) F1 score was 0.930. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

It is well known that nowadays children tend to spend lot of time playing games on mobile devices at the expense of reading books. The current research aims to explore ways to design and develop a mobile application, attractive for children, that uses voice recognition technology and gamification techniques to help children read more and better and to track the progress of reading. The application is implemented with Flutter, Dart and Firebase and is addressed to children, the books being made available in encyclopedia format. By integrating technologies such as NLP and gamification the application aims to improve reading fluency among children, but also to give them the opportunity to accumulate new and exciting information in the same time. © 2023 IEEE.

On a novel tracking differentiator design based on iterative learning in a moving window

Differential signals are key in control engineering as they anticipate future behavior of process variables and therefore are critical in formulating control laws such as proportional-integral-derivative(PID).The practical challenge,however,is to extract such signals from noisy measurements and this difficulty is addressed first by *** in the form of linear and nonlinear tracking differentiator(TD).While improvements were made,TD did not completely resolve the conflict between the noise sensitivity and the accuracy and timeliness of the *** two approaches proposed in this paper start with the basic linear TD,but apply iterative learning mechanism to the historical data in a moving window(MW),to form two new iterative learning tracking differentiators(IL-TD):one is a parallel IL-TD using an iterative ladder network structure which is implementable in analog circuits;the other a serial IL-TD which is implementable digitally on any computer *** algorithms are validated in simulations which show that the proposed two IL-TDs have better tracking differentiation and de-noise performance compared to the existing linear TD.
