Big data is steadily expanding beyond the boundaries of its foundational constructs of three primary Vs, Volume, Velocity and Variety, and two secondary Vs, Veracity and Value. The advent of 5G networks, Edge computing and IoT technologies has transformed Big data into this modern context. With these new manifestations of Big data, the focus is not only on the data itself but on the context that it applies to its immediate environment as well as the human and societal perception of this context. It is increasingly challenging for conventional AI algorithms to process and transform this data, analyse and visualise a broad spectrum of insights, and then formulate the explainability of such insights in terms of bias, transparency, safety, ethics, and causality. Self-structuring Artificial Intelligence (SSAI) addresses the limitations of conventional AI by adapting to the inherent structure of the data, incrementally learning and abstracting from this structure. SSAI has not been investigated in a cloud-based setting for generating explainable insights from these new types of Big data. In this paper we propose a cloud-based architecture for explainable Big data analytics using SSAI in highly-connected 5G and Edge computing environments. The proposed architecture is empirically evaluated on a commercial scale Big data use case of Smart Grid for Smart Cities. The results of these experiments confirm the functionality and effectiveness of the proposed architecture. © The Author(s) 2024.

The banking system is a key component of financial transactions and economic expansion in the modern world. The introduction of internet banking, however, has created some brand-new difficulties, particularly in providing safe user authentication. This study investigates the flaws in conventional authentication techniques, including passwords and SMS-based One-Time Passwords (OTP), and suggests a creative fix. By using Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) created by an authenticator app and encrypting the user credentials with this as key, the proposed solution improves security. By addressing problems including poor password habits, SMS theft, OTP delivery delays, phishing, and social engineering attacks, this method strengthens the security of online banking. The approach provides a thorough framework for building this secure authentication system by detailing TOTP generation and encryption. This system successfully defends against popular attacks such as replay attacks, brute force attacks, rainbow tables, packet sniffing, and random guessing. © 2024 IEEE.

Extremist view detection in social networks is an emerging area of research. Several attempts have been made to extremist views detection on social media. However, there is a scarcity of publicly available annotated corpora that can be used for learning and prediction. Also, there is no consensus on what should be recognized as an extremist view. In the absence of such a description, the accurate annotation of extremist views becomes a formidable task. To that end, this study has made three key contributions. Firstly, we have developed a clear understanding of extremist views by synthesizing their definitions and descriptions in the academic literature, as well as in practice. Secondly, a benchmark extremist view detection corpus (XtremeView-22) is developed. Finally, baseline experiments are performed using six machine learning techniques to evaluate their effectiveness for extremist view detection. The results show that bigrams are the most effective feature and Naive Bayes is the most effective technique to identify extremist views in social media text. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Evaluating reliability of software is hot concern for decision makers and software engineers seeing as if we assess, it cannot be mastered. It is common that reliability of system stratum could be employed for evaluating growth of testing of system with help of comparison of failure of currently implemented software with required system. It is also generic that reliability of system echelon assures improved utilization by the user consequently enhanced contentment of customers. In this paper, our goal is to put forward a meticulously analysis of reliability measurement process. As the existing approaches still lack software reliability, quality and its growth, successful generation of test cases, scalability with large software systems, cost and customer satisfaction. we have projected a new framework of software reliability measurement process based on software metrics. Our model is evaluated by comparing it with an existing model and a published case study. The control experiment is used to evaluate FESR Framework. © 2024 ACM.

Global food security is seriously threatened by plant diseases and can cause severe economic losses to farmers. Automated detection of plant diseases using computer vision and machine learning techniques has become a popular research area due to its potential to provide faster and more accurate results than traditional methods. In this research, we propose a plant disease detection model based on transfer learning using the MobileNetV2. We evaluate the suggested method on a dataset consisting of 38 various kinds of diseases across 14 different plants. Our experimental findings indicate that the proposed method has a typical accuracy of 91.98% and outperforms additional cutting-edge CNN models for plant disease detection. The experimental findings support the suggested approach's validity and show that it effectively detects plant diseases. We also have put forth the evaluation metrics to investigate the model. The suggested method has potential applications in real-world scenarios and can help farmers detect diseases in their crops at an early stage, allowing them to take timely action to minimize crop losses. © 2024 The Authors. Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) are a severe complication in diabetic patients, requiring accurate and early diagnosis to prevent further complications such as infection or amputation. To address this, Research employed YOLO and SSD models for automated DFU detection from medical images, comparing their performance based on key evaluation metrics, including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. Results demonstrate that both models perform exceptionally well, with SSD achieving an accuracy of 98.7%, surpassing YOLO's 97.5%. Additionally, SSD exhibited superior precision (99%), recall (98.9%), and F1-score (99.1%), indicating its robustness in detecting ulcerated regions of varying sizes and stages. These results were further contextualized through a comparison with previous studies, where SSD outperformed several CNN-based models, which achieved accuracy ranging from 93.7% to 97.0%. The SSD model's multi-scale object detection capabilities, combined with transfer learning and data augmentation techniques, contributed to its high performance. Overall, this study demonstrates the potential of deploying SSD and YOLO models in clinical settings for early and accurate DFU detection, paving the way for more reliable and timely interventions in diabetic care. The findings underline the significance of advanced object detection methods, offering promising avenues for improving patient outcomes in medical imaging © 2024 IEEE.

The internet of things technology has developed almost all the sectors including energy management. In traditional energy management system meters are used to recording the number of units and electricity used but they are unable to provide the real time information or updates or any theft of electricity. By focusing this problem, we have developed a system which is able to overcome all the problems in traditional electric management system. It monitors the energy usage and real time theft detection of electricity as it cost lot of money. In our system we have used a current sensor which continuously checks the electricity flow. The microcontroller measures the actual energy usage as well as expected values. It compares both the values. If a big difference found, then it could mean the theft of electricity. So, the GSM module is used to send the alert to the user hence they can take required action. The Wi-Fi module sends the data over the cloud for data analytics. Also, user can see the real time data from the cloud platform. Hence user can track the energy usage and get timely alerts so that user can be aware of energy consumption or energy theft. The system is developed by setting up hardware parts as well as integration with software. The system can be operated or monitored from remote place, as Wi-Fi module connects the system with the internet. System can detect the unusual activities like theft of electricity by analyzing the data. Using the IoT technology for energy management, it can become cost effective as well as smart solution of energy management to avoid any theft. Hence it can overcome the loss. © 2024 IEEE.

The ability to navigate robots with natural language instructions in an unknown environment is a crucial step for achieving embodied artificial intelligence (AI). With the improving performance of deep neural models proposed in the field of vision-and-language navigation (VLN), it is equally interesting to know what information the models utilize for their decision-making in the navigation tasks. To understand the inner workings of deep neural models, various explanation methods have been developed for promoting explainable AI (XAI). But they are mostly applied to deep neural models for image or text classification tasks and little work has been done in explaining deep neural models for VLN tasks. In this paper, we address these problems by building quantitative benchmarks to evaluate explanation methods for VLN models in terms of faithfulness. We propose a new erasure-based evaluation pipeline to measure the step-wise textual explanation in the sequential decision-making setting. We evaluate several explanation methods for two representative VLN models on two popular VLN datasets and reveal valuable findings through our experiments. © 2023 The Authors.
