Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Optical sensors are very popular depending on their strengths and application needs. The ocean surface will be covered with clouds most of the time and optical sensors cannot capture the information as they cannot operate in dust and cloudy conditions. So, SAR sensors come into existence to capture the atmospheric phenomena in those regions. There is a wide range of texture extraction techniques such as traditional-based wavelet analysis, statistical analysis, local pixel-based approaches, and dimensional reduction approaches. However, these approaches have limitations in boundary extraction, high-dimensional feature extraction, and uniformity representation. In recent times, deep learning (DL) approaches to extract features which varies based on the applications, image interpretation, and so on. At the same time, DL approaches are limited in transparency, computation requirements, and hyperparameter tuning. In contrast, the proposed S5ELBP i.e., Supervised SAR image classification using the integration of Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Scale Selective Extended Local Binary Pattern (SSELBP) extraction techniques shall overcome various challenges of existing traditional and DL approaches such as adaptive thresholding, less computational resources, and noise robustness. Hence, the objective of the proposed methodology is to extract the image features from the Scale Selective Extended Local Binary Pattern (SSELBP). Also, the SSELBP features are integrated with SVM to show the strength of the proposed approach in SAR image classification. Additionally, the performance of the present work is enhanced by comparing the extracted results with various classifiers. Finally, the work is concluded by recommending the scope of future work. © 2023 IEEE.

Several digital dangers were investigated. Malware dominated analysis with 45 attacks. We found 30 phishing attacks. 22 data breaches, 15 cyber espionage, 18 identity theft. This indicates the kind and frequency of harassment digital forensic specialists endure. Digital evidence was crucial to the case. 65 pieces of evidence were collected on computers. 42 incidents showed smartphones and tablets' digital investigative potential. There were 55 examples of communication patterns requiring network logs. In 28 and 12, cloud services and removable media provided proof. A wide range of evidence sources stresses the need for extensive collecting. Digital forensics were essential to the inquiry. In 70% of cases, disk imaging software created forensic copies of metadata-and timestamp-containing storage media. Network packet analyzers examined 48 traffic logs and communication patterns. To analyze volatile memory, 35 cases used memory forensics. In 25 cases, malware analysis platforms decrypted malware. In 60 situations, file recovery software recovered lost or hidden files. Digital forensic specialists' diverse arsenal for thorough investigations is shown here. Legal and ethical considerations dominated the study. The law was important, and all inquiries followed norms. A strong chain of custody protects evidence integrity and admissibility. The data privacy rules were respected. Legal evidence is admissible in court. Ethics ensured objective investigations. This underlines digital forensic investigations' legal and ethical foundation. © 2024 IEEE.

The agricultural sector is the scientific and artistic cultivation of plants and animals. Agriculture has an important role in India's economy, which covers a significant 60.45% of the country's land and stands as the world's second-largest agricultural sector, driving economic growth through its diverse produce and associated industries. Soil composition really matters for growing stuff. Elements like Nitrogen, Phosphorous, & Potassium play a big role. The way you rotate crops, soil moisture, and even temperature all affect how well things grow. Rainfall is important too. Research has shown that using machine learning can help figure out the best crops to grow. They utilize methods that include Random Forest (RF), Decision Tree (DT), and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for this. The study also looks into deep learning methods to make the model even better. In addition to predicting crop yields, it also provides detailed information on the required amounts of soil elements and their associated costs. The new model offers superior precision compared to the current one. The system examines the provided data and assists farmers in forecasting a crop, which subsequently aids in achieving financial gains. The prediction of a suitable yield takes into account the meteorological and soil parameters of the area. This Python-based system utilizes advanced algorithms to optimize decision-making, forecasting the most lucrative outcomes in various situations while streamlining costs and boosting productivity. The study employs Support Vector Machines (SVM) as an example of Machine Learning (ML) method, while Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) are used as Deep Learning (DL) techniques. © 2024 IEEE.

Estimating Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET) as a regression problem has become increasingly challenging due to the complexity of modern hardware and software systems. Traditional statistical methods often fall short of providing accurate and reliable estimates. To address these limitations, ensemble learning methods have emerged as a promising approach for capturing edge cases in execution scenarios. This paper proposes a novel ensemble model that integrates fractional-order Legendre functions (FLF) to enrich feature representation. This integration reduces correlations between individual models within the ensemble, enhancing generalization capabilities. Our method achieves significant reductions in Mean Squared Error (MSE) for WCET estimates while maintaining high levels of safeness. Specifically, the proposed model maintained an error below one across most benchmarks, with safeness levels of %100 in 13 out of 16 benchmarks. These findings underscore the efficacy of our approach and its potential to provide robust and accurate WCET estimates for complex systems. © 2025 IEEE.

The performance of SISR models is currently growing at a rapid pace since the adoption of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) in the domain. Despite that, the understanding of the underlying factors of this rapid growth is still low. In this study, we proposed a study design to measure the impact of the inductive bias in CNN on its training performance, which is one of the factors of the excellent performance of CNN in SISR. With this study design, we observed that not all CNN has a supportive inductive bias to the training performance. This result can provide guidance to future research in choosing a suitable CNN architecture for optimal SISR performance. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

As the COVID-19 pandemic swept the globe,social media plat-forms became an essential source of information and communication for *** students,particularly,turned to Twitter to express their struggles and hardships during this difficult *** better understand the sentiments and experiences of these international students,we developed the Situational Aspect-Based Annotation and Classification(SABAC)text mining *** framework uses a three-layer approach,combining baseline Deep Learning(DL)models with Machine Learning(ML)models as meta-classifiers to accurately predict the sentiments and aspects expressed in tweets from our collected Student-COVID-19 *** the pro-posed aspect2class annotation algorithm,we labeled bulk unlabeled tweets according to their contained aspect ***,we also recognized the challenges of reducing data’s high dimensionality and sparsity to improve performance and annotation on unlabeled *** address this issue,we proposed the Volatile Stopwords Filtering(VSF)technique to reduce sparsity and enhance classifier *** resulting Student-COVID Twitter dataset achieved a sophisticated accuracy of 93.21%when using the random forest as a *** testing on three benchmark datasets,we found that the SABAC ensemble framework performed exceptionally *** findings showed that international students during the pandemic faced various issues,including stress,uncertainty,health concerns,financial stress,and difficulties with online classes and returning to *** analyzing and summarizing these annotated tweets,decision-makers can better understand and address the real-time problems international students face during the ongoing pandemic.

This work examines the performance of various LSTM (long short-term memory) variants on social media text data. This study evaluates the performance of LSTM models with different architectures, namely, classic LSTM, Bidirectional LSTM, Stacked LSTM, gated recurrent unit (GRU), and bidirectional GRU, on a social network dataset comprising texts extracted from multiple social media platforms. We aim to identify the most effective LSTM variant of the five considered LSTM models for text analysis through a comparative study of the models' precision, recall, F1-score, and accuracy. The research findings show that the Classic LSTM and the GRU model perform better than the other models in accuracy. In contrast, the bidirectional models (Bidirectional LSTM and Bidirectional GRU) provide better precision scores than their respective primitive models. This research has significant implications for developing more efficient models for natural language processing applications. It offers beneficial insights into the implications involving the scrutiny of depression on social media platforms through text data analysis. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

This research paper analyzes the Air Pollution Standard Index (APSI) in Jakarta, Indonesia, using the Random Forest Classifier (RFC). The study aims to predict the APSI level in Jakarta based on the concentrations of various pollutants, including particulate matter (PM), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon monoxide (CO), and ozone (O3). The data used in the study was collected from a public website called Jakarta Open data from January to December 2020. The SMOTE-Tomek technique was used to handle an imbalanced dataset in this work. The results show that the RFC model accurately predicts the APSI level in Jakarta with an accuracy of 95%. In addition, RFC can identify ozone (O3) and particulate matter (PM) are the most critical factors influencing the APSI level. This study provides valuable insights into the factors influencing air pollution in Jakarta and can be used to inform city decision-making regarding air quality management. This paper discusses the finding's significance and potential future research directions. © 2023 IEEE.

Deepfake technology has become increasingly sophisticated and poses a growing threat to society, as it can be used to create convincing fake videos for malicious purposes. Therefore, detecting deepfakes has become crucial to ensure the authenticity of visual content. This paper proposes a novel deepfake detection approach that utilizes InceptionResNetV2 for feature extraction and Vision Transformer (ViT) with Nyström Attention mechanism for classification. Our model achieves high accuracy, AUC, precision, and recall on the CelebDFv2 dataset and outperforms state-of-the-art techniques like EfficientNet, XceptionNet, and ResNet. We also perform evaluations on the CelebDFv1 and DFDC datasets. Furthermore, we conduct a comprehensive literature survey to highlight the existing research in deepfake detection. We provide a roadmap for future work in this field, highlighting potential research directions that can further improve the effectiveness and applicability of deepfake detection models. The proposed model shows great potential for real-world applications, and the suggested future work can help to address some of the remaining challenges in this area. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

We introduce a conceptually simple yet effective method to create small, compact decision trees – by using splits found via Symbolic Regression (SR). Traditional decision tree (DT) algorithms partition a dataset on axis-parallel splits. When the true boundaries are not along the feature axes, DT is likely to have a complicated structure and a dense decision boundary. In this paper, we introduce SR-Enhanced DT (SREDT) – a method which utilizes SR to increase the richness of the class of possible DT splits. We evaluate SREDT on both synthetic and real-world datasets. Despite its simplicity, our method produces surprisingly small trees that outperform both DT and oblique DT (ODT) on supervised classification tasks in terms of accuracy and F-score. We show empirically that SREDTs decrease inference time (compared to DT and ODT) and argue that they allow us to obtain more explainable descriptions of the decision process. SREDT also performs competitively against state-of-the-art tabular classification methods, including tree ensembles and deep models. Finally, we introduce a local search mechanism to improve SREDT and evaluate it on 56 PMLB datasets. This mechanism shows improved performance on 77.2% of the datasets, outperforming DT and ODT. In terms of F-Score, local SREDT outperforms DT and ODT in 82.5% and 73.7% of the datasets respectively and in terms of inference time, local SREDT requires 25.8% and 26.6% less inference time than DT and ODT respectively.
