The digital era has made seamless sharing and keeping of media such as images on cloud platforms an integral part of our lives. Still, there is a big issue about user privacy and data security in these repositories. We have thus created a very strong system that is able to do image encryption and decryption so as to protect the privacy of users while at the same time making their pictures accessible. Our system uses hybrid encryption where we try to prevent even cloud service providers from accessing the original files hence ensuring that only the owner who has been authenticated through password based authentication can decrypt or access them. In this way, it allows maintaining high privacy standards without sacrificing user convenience. It starts with preparing photos for encryption so that they are kept safe during transmission and storage. When needed by a user, images are decrypted by our system and become available only to authorized users. Consequently, users can comfortably leave their private photo albums on cloud storage systems knowing too well that their friends cannot access them thereby increasing trust in using cloud services for storing sensitive information. The aim of this work is to increase user privacy and data security in cloud repositories through employing this encryption technique. The users are guaranteed that their private details are not exposed to others enabling them to use cloud storage efficiently without interfering with their privacy at all. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

This systematic review gave special attention to diabetes and the advancements in food and nutrition needed to prevent or manage diabetes in all its forms. There are two main forms of diabetes mellitus: Type 1 (T1D) and Type 2 (T2D). The loss of beta cells brought on by an autoimmune reaction causes the pancreas to be unable to produce enough insulin, which leads to Type 1 diabetes. A deficiency of insulin could arise as the illness worsens. The most frequent cause is a combination of excessive body weight and inadequate exercise. Currently, 90–95% of patients have Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Age-specific normal blood sugar ranges exist and knowing them is crucial for determining a target blood sugar level that is both healthy and appropriate. The main takeaway is that diet regimens ought to be tailored to the patient’s requirements and should account for their capacity for change. Carbohydrates are the nutrients that have the biggest impact on the rise in blood glucose. In this paper, we have proposed a novel method for glucose monitoring and diet recommendations for diabetic patients using fog computing. A paradigm known as fog computing makes use of the benefits that come from using both cloud and edge devices to support modern computing systems by offering high-quality services, cutting latency, facilitating mobility, supporting multi-tenancy, and many other features. © 2025 by Begell House, Inc.

A Flexible Diffusion Convolution for Graph Neural Networks

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have been gaining more attention due to their excellent performance in modeling various graph-structured data. However, most of the current GNNs only consider fixed-neighbor discrete message-passing, disregarding the importance of the local structure of different nodes and the implicit information between nodes for smoothing features. Previous approaches either focus on adaptive selection for aggregation structures or treat discrete graph convolution as a continuous diffusion process, but none of them comprehensively considered the above issues, significantly limiting the model's performance. To this end, we present a novel approach called Flexible Diffusion Convolution (Flexi-DC), which exploits the neighborhood information of nodes to set a particular continuous diffusion for each node to smooth features. Specifically, Flexi-DC first extracts the local structure knowledge based on the degrees of nodes in the graph data and then injects it into the diffusion convolution module to smooth features. Additionally, we utilize the extracted knowledge to smooth labels. Flexi-DC is an efficient framework that can significantly improve the performance of most GNN architectures. Experimental results demonstrate that Flexi-DC outperforms their vanilla implementations by an average accuracy of 13.24% (GCN), 16.37% (JKNet), and 11.98% (ARMA) on nine graph datasets with different homophily ratios. © 1989-2012 IEEE.

Occluded human pose estimation based on limb joint augmentation

Human pose estimation aims at locating the specific joints of humans from the images or videos. While existing deep learning-based methods have achieved high positioning accuracy, they often struggle with generalization in occlusion scenarios. In this paper, we propose an occluded human pose estimation framework based on limb joint augmentation to enhance the generalization ability of the pose estimation model on the occluded human bodies. Specifically, the occlusion blocks are at first employed to randomly cover the limb joints of the human bodies from the training images, imitating the scene where the objects or other people partially occlude the human body. Trained by the augmented samples, the pose estimation model is encouraged to accurately locate the occluded keypoints based on the visible ones. To further enhance the localization ability of the model, this paper constructs a dynamic structure loss function based on limb graphs to explore the distribution of occluded joints by evaluating the dependence between adjacent joints. Extensive experimental evaluations on two occluded datasets, OCHuman and CrowdPose, demonstrate significant performance improvements without additional computation cost during inference. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

NeuroProbe: A Performance Profiling Feed Forward Neural Network Simulator for Hardware Interaction Analysis

NeuroProbe is a simple neural network simulator designed by authors specifically for educational purposes focusing on simulating inference phase on a computationally capable embedded hardware, aiming to provide a deeper understanding of hardware interactions and performance improvement. This simulator incorporates performance profiling capabilities, allowing students and educators to analyze and optimize the performance of a simulated trained neural network. By simulating the intricate hardware interactions, NeuroProbe enables users to gain insights into how various components impact the overall performance of neural networks. Using this simulator, learners can experiment with different configurations and architectures, identify potential bottlenecks, and explore optimization strategies to enhance neural network performance before deploying the model on an Edge Computing environment. It also enriches computer science education by enabling learners to gain deeper insights into hardware interactions and performance improvement. By identifying performance bottlenecks, learners can refine their understanding of neural networks and develop skills in optimizing their models for enhanced performance. In conclusion, NeuroProbe empowers users to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation of neural network on an embedded device, fostering a more comprehensive understanding of neural networks and their hardware requirements. Currently, it is focused solely on single-threaded CPU-based computation enabling SSE, AVX. At present, NeuroProbe does not support SIMD extensions such as AVX-FMA, AVX-512, multi-threaded computation, and accelerators such as NPU, TPU, and GPU. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

As per WHO calculation of deaths, globally due to Breast Cancer is around one million. Breast cancer can be cured by early detection, in which abnormal breast cells proliferate uncontrollably, leading to tumor formation. Early detection of breast cancer may reduce deaths, as per World Health Organization records there are about one million deaths are caused by 2024 among them only 0.5 percent are of men. The different methodologies adopted in medical image processing related to breast cancer detection methods include mammography. We concentrated on medical image segmentation which helps to get visual information about breast tissue. This paper presents an intelligent computing system designed to support medical image processing through utilizing U-Net methodology for segmentation as part of deep learning methodologies. As part of Experimental Analysis, a BUSI dataset is used for the implementation of Deep Learning methodologies. A graphic analysis based on medical images, followed by an analysis of the results. This Intelligent Computing System based on artificial intelligence helps radiologists, medical professionals, and doctors with early and simplified breast cancer diagnosis. © 2025 IEEE.

Software Reliability Estimation of Component-Based Systems

Component-based software systems (CBSS) have gained significant traction among researchers and practitioners because of their numerous advantages. By assembling software from reusable components, CBSS can reduce time-to-market and maintenance costs while enhancing productivity, quality, and reusability. This modular approach allows developers to focus on specific functionalities, thereby leading to more efficient and manageable codebases. However, estimating the reliability of a CBSS poses challenges because the factors influencing reliability are complex, and often only their effects are observable. The interactions between the individual components, their integration into the overall architecture, and varying operational profiles contribute to this complexity. Traditional reliability estimation methods may not adequately address these intricacies, thus necessitating more sophisticated approaches. To address this, a new approach has been developed that considers individual component reliabilities, overall software architecture, and real-world usage patterns to estimate the total reliability of CBSS. This approach integrates componentlevel data with system-level interactions to provide a more accurate reliability assessment. By accounting for the unique behaviors and dependencies of each component within the system architecture, this approach offers a holistic view of software reliability. This approach was validated through a large-scale case study that demonstrated its high accuracy, applicability, and practical utility. The case study involved analyzing a complex CBSS in a real-world environment, where the proposed reliability estimation approach was applied and its predictions were compared with the actual system performance. The results confirmed the effectiveness of the approach in accurately estimating the system reliability, highlighting its potential for broader application in CBSS development and maintenance. © 2013 IEEE.

Peer Collaboration in DBLP Using Graph Convolutional Network

The increasing popularity of Graph-based neural network architectures plays a pivotal role in providing promising results in applications, viz., Friendship networks, Co-authorship networks, Product recommendations, etc. Many machine learning tasks can be addressed when dealing with graph representation, i.e., graph classification, node classification, link prediction, graph embedding, etc. The traditional rule-based methods have many drawbacks in comparison to graph representation learning, such as it requires manual feature engineering and struggles with unseen cases (generalizability), etc., in the case of rule-based methods. At the same time, graph representation learning overcomes those issues profoundly. The advent of graph-based deep neural network architectures inspired us to complete a graph classification problem to explore clusters of researchers who worked together in academic publications. We built the model by using a graph convolutional network to solve a multi-classification problem. We conducted a comparative study to check the efficacy of graph representation learning by GCNs on the DBLP dataset.
