Conventional boost converters operating with hard-switching result in low conversion efficiency and increased electromagnetic interference emissions. In this paper, a cost-efficient passive snubber is proposed with a few additional components: two diodes, one capacitor, and one inductor. Moreover, because these snubber components are not located on the main power processing path, they only require low ratings, resulting in improved cost-effectiveness.

This study aims to investigate the use of artificial intelligence in health education in the last ten years from 2012 to 2022 using the Scopus database. Researchers use bibliometric analysis combined with the quantification method of Vosviewer and Rstudio software used for literature analysis. The results of the article that were flushed showed data such as the year of publication, journal, country, keywords, and authors, to the highest number of citations. The general keywords used by researchers are artificial intelligence, medical, and education. Researchers limit findings through keywords as in the last ten years and English only so that 1681 articles were obtained. According to the study's findings, McGill University affiliation had the greatest number of papers, with 69 pieces, and medicine had a proportion of 39.7% (n = 1067). This bibliometric study will be useful for other researchers to examine the development of research on artificial intelligence in health education in the last ten years. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Characteristic variability induced by process variation effect (PVE) is one of technological challenges in semiconductor industry. In this work, we computationally study electrical characteristic and power fluctuations induced by six factors of PVE of the gate-all-around (GAA) silicon (Si) nanosheet (NS) complementary field-effect-transistors (CFETs) which are formed by vertically stacking n-FET on top of p-FET. Among the six factors, NS thickness (TNS), NS width (WNS), and gate length (LG) are identified as crucial factors contributing to large variations in device characteristics. The p-FET exhibits substantial off-state current fluctuation (about 151%) due to the bottom parasitic channel leakages. Compared with the magnitudes of dynamic and short circuit powers, the static power is marginal, but it possesses the largest fluctuation (up to 148%). If we assume that each factor of PVE has the same probability distribution as the others and all are mutually independent, the statistical sum of their power fluctuations will exhibit more than 50% overestimations, compared with the results when all factors are considered simultaneously. © 2020 IEEE.

This research demonstrates the improvement in antenna gain by utilizing an EBG reflector. The EBG reflector includes a unit cell with grooves shaped like the letters M and W to mitigate surface waves at a frequency of 2.45 GHz. The suggested EBG reflector is constructed on an FR-4 substrate exhibiting a uniform dielectric constant of 4.3, a loss tangent of 0.025, and a thickness of 1.6 mm. Furthermore, the impact of boosting the antenna gain can be analyzed by the reflection phase diagram, which exhibits values ranging from +90° to -90° at the resonant frequency of the reflector. The proposed EBG reflector comprises 5x5 unit cells. The testing results of the reflector's performance, when integrated with a general dipole antenna, indicate that it can effectively respond to the resonant frequency of 2.45 GHz, with a |S 11 | level below -10 dB within the frequency range of 2.2 GHz to 2.6 GHz, thereby adequately covering the IEEE 802.11 b/g/n band. The suggested EBG reflector exhibits a gain of around 6.5 dBi at 2.45 GHz, indicating its efficacy in enhancing gain relative to the standard PEC reflector. Moreover, the radiation pattern is also directional.

Dear Editor,People are often optimistic when forecasting the future,such that they believe they are less likely to encounter adverse life *** phenomenon,known as optimism bias,emerges due to preferential encoding and consolidation of desirable over undesirable information[1,2],engaging frontal brain regions such as the anterior cingulate cortex and inferior frontal gyrus[1].An optimism bias is instrumental in supporting mental health:reduction or absence of optimism biases is associated with mood disorders such as depression,characterized by pessimistic thinking about the future[3].This relationship highlights the potential value of interventions that could enhance optimism bias[4].

Empower Nested Boolean Logic via Self-Supervised Curriculum Learning

Beyond the great cognitive powers showcased by language models, it is crucial to scrutinize whether their reasoning capabilities stem from strong generalization or merely exposure to relevant data. As opposed to constructing increasingly complex logic, this paper probes into the boolean logic, the root capability of a logical reasoner. We find that any pre-trained language models even including large language models only behave like a random selector in the face of multi-nested boolean logic, a task that humans can handle with ease. To empower language models with this fundamental capability, this paper proposes a new self-supervised learning method Curriculum Logical Reasoning (CLR), where we augment the training data with nested boolean logic chain step-by-step, and program the training from simpler logical patterns gradually to harder ones. This new training paradigm allows language models to effectively generalize to much harder and longer-hop logic, which can hardly be learned through naive training. The College of engineering & Applied science at the University of Colorado Boulder proposes a low-cost, online, accredited Bachelor of science in engineering (BSE) degree. The BSE will provide a pathway for community college (CC) students, or students with similar transfer credits, to complete a degree in engineering at a cost similar to attending CC. The educationally underserved communities across Colorado are often low-income, racially and ethnically diverse, and rural;the BSE's primary goal is to provide access to an engineering education for these students and, thus, open pathways to high-demand, high-wage careers. The BSE will reach an underserved population of learners who can stay in their local community while simultaneously pursuing an engineering education. A fully online, ABET-accredited engineering degree is surprisingly novel-only nine other online engineering degrees in the nation are accredited-but an R1-level university degree at a near-community-college cost is unprecedented. The BSE will invite the institution's best instructors to innovate in online education-virtual labs, team-based projects, flipped asynchronous discussions, and hybrid-learning activities. Student success support will include wrap-around advising to foster the development of the academic, affective, financial, and career support that students need to succeed in engineering. The BSE will utilize five administrative affordances: 1) success coaches to provide wrap-around support and guidance to students;2) course facilitators who provide personalized support;3) stackable credentials;4) eight-week semesters, allowing students to quickly complete portions of their education;and 5) mentorship programming to foster community and to help students develop their (inter)disciplinary identity. The online BSE creates a new pathway for underserved students to matriculate to a flagship public research university for a degree in engineering. Kidney cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide. The major types of malignant renal tumors are renal cell carcinoma and urothelial carcinoma. Although the majority of renal tumors are malignant, up to $20\%$ are benign, most commonly renal cyst and angiomyolipomas. Ultrasound is the most accessible imaging tool in medical practice, but it highly depends on operator skill, which may lead to high false-negative rate in diagnosis. The purpose of this study was to develop a predictive model for the automated classification of renal tumors on ultrasound images using deep neural network. A total of 880 kidney ultrasound images were used for training and testing. Transfer learning was used to the ten Convolution neural network models. The kidney ultrasound images were classified as benign or malignant tumors. The classification performance of the model was evaluated by sensitivity and specificity. The research results show that VGG18 yielded the best performance, with a sensitivity of $79 \%$, and a specificity of $86 \%$.

Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a life-threatening condition that demands immediate intervention. The key to survival often lies in the timely and precise analysis of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals to determine the necessity of a shock from an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). In this paper, we address the critical need for improved accuracy in AED decision-making by presenting a novel approach that leverages the Hilbert Transform to calculate the slope of ECG signals by harnessing the analytical power of Hilbert Transformed ECG signals. By scrutinizing the heart's electrical activity through this method, we aim to enhance the AED's ability to differentiate between cases of ventricular fibrillation and other non-shockable rhythms, ultimately leading to more efficient and effective treatment. Our research explores two distinct approaches for signal analysis and correlates their findings to achieve higher precision in defibrillation decisions. To validate the effectiveness of our approach, we employ a diverse and publicly available dataset containing various heart conditions, allowing us to demonstrate the robustness of our method across a wide spectrum of cases. This study represents a significant advancement in the field of automatic external defibrillation, with the potential to save countless lives through more accurate and timely interventions.
