The aquaculture industry faces significant challenges related to sustainability, productivity, and fish welfare. Key issues include managing environmental conditions, disease, pests, and data integration from various sensors and monitoring systems. The BigFish project aims to address these challenges through advanced analytics and machine learning, focusing on three case studies in Atlantic salmon farms: predicting oxygen levels, reducing sea lice infestations, and improving data interaction and visualization. Predictive models for oxygen levels and sea lice infestation, as well as natural language interfaces for data visualization, demonstrate the potential for improved decision-making and management practices in aquaculture. Early results indicate the effectiveness of these approaches, highlighting the importance of data-driven solutions in enhancing industry sustainability and productivity. © 2024 IEEE.

Elevating Robust Multi-Talker ASR by Decoupling Speaker Separation and Speech Recognition

Despite the tremendous success of automatic speech recognition (ASR) with the introduction of deep learning, its performance is still unsatisfactory in many real-world multi-talker scenarios. Speaker separation excels in separating individual talkers but, as a frontend, it introduces processing artifacts that degrade the ASR backend trained on clean speech. As a result, mainstream robust ASR systems train the backend on noisy speech to avoid processing artifacts. In this work, we propose to decouple the training of the speaker separation frontend and the ASR backend, with the latter trained on clean speech only. Our decoupled system achieves 5.1% word error rates (WER) on the Libri2Mix dev/test sets, significantly outperforming other multi-talker ASR baselines. Its effectiveness is also demonstrated with the state-of-the-art 7.60%/5.74% WERs on 1-ch and 6-ch SMS-WSJ. Furthermore, on recorded LibriCSS, we achieve the speaker-attributed WER of 2.92%. These state-of-the-art results suggest that decoupling speaker separation and recognition is an effective approach to elevate robust multi-talker ASR. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. Along with technological improvements, online shopping is currently developing quickly. Online shops started by selling electronics, clothing, food, and home appliances and continue to evolve, selling various things. Currently, digital marketing has a novel technique, namely live shopping, where sellers can present, promote and offer their products directly through live streaming on social media and e-commerce platforms. This research will focus on gaining insight into the factors influencing customers to watch and purchase through live streaming. This research is an early-stage study of exploring and searching for research models. The study used a literature review approach by reviewing similar previous research articles. Several variable components were used in this study. The findings of the factors include visibility capacity, meta-vocation capacity, purchase orientation capacity, social presence, price, perceived product quality, perceived enjoyment, purchase orientation, perceived usefulness, and intention to buy. These factors were tested and proved to be valid with Cronbach's Alpha value being more than 0.5 and reliable with the value of the loading factor a greater than 0.6. Criteria The factors of the findings for further analysis of the relationship between factors and other variables. © 2023 IEEE.

Due to its significant applications in magnetic devices for cell separation, magnetic drugs for cancer tumor treatment, blood flow adjustment during surgery, magnetic endoscopy, and fluid pumping in industrial and engineering processes, magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) has a wide range of applications. Therefore, the aim of this study to investigate the Relative Magnetic Field and slipping effect on Casson dusty fluid of two-phase fluctuating flow over inclined parallel plate. More exactly, the relative magnetic phenomena are fixed relatively to the plate (MFFRP) or fixed relatively to the fluid (MFFRF). The mathematical modeling was established as the set of partial differential equations for dusty Casson fluid. Buckingham's pi theorem is used to find out the dimensionless variables, to make our system dimensionless. The solution in perturb form is to find out by incorporating Poincare–Lighthill perturbation technique (PLPT). To know in-depth different parameters the graphical results for both velocities are plotted with the help of software Mathcad- 15. It is clearly detected that the relative magnetic field performs a vital part in the fluid as well as particle motion. Moreover, the relative magnetic field play a vital role in the decreasing of skin friction of both plates. © 2023

In this paper we consider the modeling of measurement error for fund returns data. In particular, given access to a time-series of discretely observed log-returns and the associated maximum over the observation period, we develop a stochastic model which models the true log-returns and maximum via a Lévy process and the data as a measurement error there-of. The main technical difficulty of trying to infer this model, for instance Bayesian parameter estimation, is that the joint transition density of the return and maximum is seldom known, nor can it be simulated exactly. Based upon the novel stick breaking representation of [12] we provide an approximation of the model. We develop a Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithm to sample from the Bayesian posterior of the approximated posterior and then extend this to a multilevel MCMC method which can reduce the computational cost to approximate posterior expectations, relative to ordinary MCMC. The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (in short, UAVs, aka drones) for cultural and entertainment purposes, such as drone light shows, has grown exponentially. One such innovative and creative application is the visual arts using drones to explore long-exposure photography. Light painting are generally performed indoors and outdoors in a dedicated space with a human using a moving light source to create spectacular images and save the movement perception in a picture. In this work, we propose a robotic perception system designed to choreograph UAV movements based on time-parametric curves or image edges, serving as reference motions. Our framework begins by processing a digital image, extracting its contours through boundary tracing, and subsequently generating a safe, navigable, and precise path for UAV motion planning. This process involves optimizing waypoints within the UAV workspace to determine a feasible trajectory that encompasses all designated points or computes safe trajectories utilizing established mathematical equations. The validation of the motion planning is performed through light painting, where the UAV can either fly through the motion reference to mimic the original image. The generated trajectories on light painting mode by physical robots are compared against the ground-truth demonstrating the accuracy of the applied control scheme.

The rapid advancement of immersive technologies has propelled the development of the Metaverse, where the convergence of virtual and physical realities necessitates the generation of high-quality, photorealistic images to enhance user experience. However, generating these images, especially through Generative Diffusion Models (GDMs), in mobile edge computing environments presents significant challenges due to the limited computing resources of edge devices and the dynamic nature of wireless networks. This paper proposes a novel framework that integrates contract-inspired contest theory, Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), and GDMs to optimize image generation in these resource-constrained environments. The framework addresses the critical challenges of resource allocation and semantic data transmission quality by incentivizing edge devices to efficiently transmit high-quality semantic data, which is essential for creating realistic and immersive images. The use of contest and contract theory ensures that edge devices are motivated to allocate resources effectively, while DRL dynamically adjusts to network conditions, optimizing the overall image generation process. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach not only improves the quality of generated images but also achieves superior convergence speed and stability compared to traditional methods. This makes the framework particularly effective for optimizing complex resource allocation tasks in mobile edge Metaverse applications, offering enhanced performance and efficiency in creating immersive virtual environments. © 2025, CC BY.

Natural language understanding tasks require a comprehensive understanding of natural language and further reasoning about it, on the basis of holistic information at different levels to gain comprehensive knowledge. In recent years, pre-trained language models (PrLMs) have shown impressive performance in natural language understanding. However, they rely mainly on extracting context-sensitive statistical patterns without explicitly modeling linguistic information, such as semantic relationships entailed in natural language. In this work, we propose EventBERT, an event-based semantic representation model that takes BERT as the backbone and refines with event-based structural semantics in terms of graph convolution networks. EventBERT benefits simultaneously from rich event-based structures embodied in the graph and contextual semantics learned in pre-trained model BERT. People increasingly prioritize a balanced diet to enhance well-being, yet making informed dietary choices remains challenging amidst the abundance of options. To address this, we developed a meal image recognition and healthy meal combination recommender system, integrating generative artificial intelligence (AI). Convolutional neural networks were used for precise meal image recognition to identify diverse food items. The generative AI-augmented recommendation engine offers personalized meal suggestions aligned with nutritional goals and dietary preferences, utilizing a nutrition knowledge base to ensure overall well-being. The system's feasibility was validated, illustrating its excellence in meal recognition accuracy, recommendation diversity, and user engagement. By integrating generative AI, the system shows its potential to enhance dietary recommendations and public health.
