Unusual crowd analysis is an important problem in surveillance video due to their features cannot be extracted efficiently on the crowd scenes. To overcome this challenge, this paper introduced the appearance and motion based unusual events detection method by using multiple moving objects. This method includes appearance and motion based computation, and moving objects trajectory analysis. By using these all techniques, the unusual crowds and their activities can be obtained by analyzing moving objects size and the distance among multiple moving objects. Two benchmark datasets such as PETS 2009 and UMN are used for the experimental results. Also, several existing algorithms are compared with the proposed method to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed work. Exploiting Retina Biometric Fused with Encoded Hash for Designing Watermarked Convolutional Hardware IP Against Piracy

The convolution layer in a convolutional neural network (CNN) is highly computationally intensive. It is crucial to design reusable low-cost hardware IP for convolutional layer for enabling hardware-based feature extraction. However, the involvement of fake IP vendor/untrustworthy broker in the integrated circuit (IC) supply chain, makes these IPs susceptible to the threat of piracy. The proposed approach presents high- level synthesis (HLS) driven watermarking methodology for designing low-cost and secure convolutional hardware IP. The presented watermarking approach employs complier-driven high-level transformation and exploits retinal signature fused with the encoded hash for piracy detective countermeasure. The proposed approach, therefore, firstly performs compiler-driven high-level transformation in order to optimize the design latency, followed by embedding the watermark of an authentic IP vendor. The generated watermark in the form of encoded hardware watermarking constraints (digital evidence) is covertly embedded into the resulting optimized design during the register allocation module of HLS. The proposed approach achieves the following: (i) optimized and secure design for convolutional hardware IP, (ii) robust detection of pirated IP at zero design cost overhead, (iii) significantly lower probability of coincidence (in the range of 1.3E−06 to 1.2E−09) indicating stronger digital evidence and higher tamper tolerance (in the range of 2.64E+460 to 9.60E+698) than recent approaches. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) applications are added day by day owing to numerous global uses (by the military, for monitoring the atmosphere, in disaster relief, and so on). Here, trust management is a main challenge. Sensor nodes are important in wireless sensor networks, but they are easily depleted because of their short lifespan from continuous sensing activity and low battery capacity. So efficient energy utilization is a challenging task in a WSN. To minimize energy loss, clustering with an optimum path selection process is needed to retain energy in sensor nodes. This manuscript proposes multi-objective Pelican Optimization Algorithm (POA) routing to maintain energy efficiency and minimize transmission distances in wireless sensor networks. A cluster head (CH) is selected by using a Separable Convolution Neural Network (SCNN). Simulation outcomes prove the proposed technique attains 22.3% and 25.04% improvements in energy consumption when compared to the Multi-Objective CH Energy-aware Optimized Routing Approach at WSN (MOCH-EORA-WSN) and Multiple Optimum Cluster Head Multi-Objective Grasshopper Optimization with Harmony-search at WSN (MOCH-MOGOH-WSN), respectively. © 2024 institute of Electronics Engineers of Korea. A lightweight filter based feature selection approach for multi-label text classification

Multi-label Text Classification (MTC) is a challenging task in Natural Language Processing (NLP). The goal of the MTC task is to label a document with a set of labels. By incorporating various term weighting schemes in MTC, high dimensional feature space has been generated;due to that, multi-label learning algorithms face substantial problems in performing MTC tasks. To deal with these issues, Feature Selection (FS) approaches are effective solutions. This paper proposes a Lightweight Term-weighting FS (LwTwFS) approach based on a modified Chi-square (CHI) filter-based FS method to deal with this issue. The modified CHI approach works for Inter-Class Concentration (ICC) and Intra-Class Dispersion (ICD), and its strength has been increased by adding positive and negative correlations. A novel modified equation has been introduced to distribute the features among the categories (i.e., here, multi-label) in the corpus. The proposed modified CHI-based FS approach works on the term weighting-based Feature Extraction (FE) approach. Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) has been used in the classification phase due to the adaptive learning property, which refers to learning how to do tasks based on data provided during training or prior experience. We have used two publicly available multi-label corpora for experimental verification: the Arxiv Academic Paper Dataset (AAPD) and the Reuters Corpus Volume I (RCVI-V2). According to the results, in terms of performance, the LwTwFS methodology combined with the MLP classifier surpasses other combinations in terms of Jaccard Score (JS), Hamming Loss (HL), Ranking Loss (RL), Precision (Pr), Recall (Re), and F-micro and F-macro. For the AAPD corpus, the LwTwFS method achieves the best JS, HL, RL, Pr, F-micro, and F-macro values, which are 0.9636, 0.0121, 0.0303, 0.9636, 0.9882, and 0.9894. For the RCVI-V2 corpus, the LwTwFS method achieves the best JS, Pr, Re, F-micro, and F-macro values of 1.0000, and HL, RL values of 0.0000. Empirical res

A New Approach to Determine Feasible Operating Region of Unbalanced Distribution Networks with Distributed Photovoltaics

Amidst rising distributed generation and its potential role in grid management, this article presents a new realistic approach to determine the operational space and flexibility potential of an unbalanced active distribution network. The feasible operating region of an active distribution network is constituted by its range of active-reactive power exchanges with the bulk power system without breaching network constraints. This study explores the potential of highly penetrated single- and three-phase distributed photovoltaics and voltage-sensitive loads to determine the feasible operating region at different operating points. The cumulative response of Volt-Var controlled distributed photovoltaics and voltage-sensitive loads determines the power flow at the bulk power system-active distribution network interconnection, ensuring feasibility with respect to voltage magnitude and unbalance constraints. Further, the correspondence of feasible operating region with the tap-settings of substation transformer enables a novel feature to traverse throughout the available operating region and facilitate bulk power system-active distribution network power coordination. Additionally, a nodal sensitivity-based adjustable Volt-Var control scheme is proposed for distributed photovoltaics, improving the feasible operating region. The proposed strategy is validated on bulk power systemactive distribution network integrated test system. Mining user's navigation structure by filtering impurity nodes for generating relevant predictions

Web Navigation Prediction (WNP) has been popularly used for finding future probable web pages. Obtaining relevant information from a large web is challenging, as its size is growing with every second. Web data may contain irrelevant noise, and thus cleaning such data is essential. In this paper, we emphasize the identification and elimination of noisy information from user-navigated web pages. The pruning of user browsed sessions by removing noisy webpages and their relations can help in the development of high-performing prediction models with fewer prediction errors. To minimize the prediction errors, we have proposed four pruning models namely PM3ER, PM3EN, PM3GI, and PM3EP which remove noisy web pages and their relations from the model consisting of varied simple and complex navigations. The study reveals that PM3ER is effective in prediction for websites with complicated structures resulting in complex navigations, and PM3EN is effective in predicting websites with a simple tree-like structure resulting in simple navigations. PM3ER has shown an improvement in predictions by up to 3% whereas PM3EN has attained improvement up to 5.45%. © 2023

THC-DFECC-based privacy preserved smart contract creation for cloud data security

Currently, cloud services have become a novel business model for information services owing to the rapid development of Cloud Computing (CC) technology. Hence, an efficient Smart Contract (SC) creation for cloud data security is proposed in this work. Primarily, the registered Data Owner (DO) selects the file to be uploaded. Then, the data is securitized utilizing Twisted Hessian Curve-based Digit Folding Elliptic Curve Cryptography (THC-DFECC). Afterward, the data is securely uploaded into the Interplanetary File System (IPFS). Thereafter, the DO creates the SC. By utilizing Gini Canberra-k-anonymity (GC-k-anonymity), the SC data is preserved, and it is hashed using the Exponential Entropy-based SWIFFT hashing algorithm (EE-SWIFFT). After that, it is securely uploaded into the BlockChain (BC). Conversely, the Data User (DU) sends the data access request to IPFS. Next, IPFS generates the token, which is verified with the data access request. If it matches, the hashed data is sent to DU. Lastly, the verification for accessing the data is performed in which the SC is created by DU and verified with the BC. If it matches, the verification at Cloud Server Authority (CSA) is performed. According to the experimental results, the proposed technique withstands a higher security level as compared to existing methodologies. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.
