Biometric cryptosystems are security tools that use an individual’s distinctive physical or behavioral characteristics to secure sensitive data. Any biometric cryptosystem’s effectiveness is dependent on how well the features are extracted. The suggested solution uses an evolutionary algorithm to first optimize the retrieved attributes. Second, fuzzy vault is used to safeguard these optimized features. The fuzzy vault system is a well-known biometric cryptography device that creates a vault by using a polynomial equation, protecting the biometric information. However, if an attacker has access to the polynomial equation, the security of the fuzzy vault scheme may be jeopardized. The shuffled frog leaping algorithm (SFLA) method has been suggested as a way to improve the security of the fuzzy vault technique in order to overcome this drawback. The SFLA is a meta-heuristic optimization method that resolves challenging optimization issues by simulating the social behavior of frogs. This meta-heuristic technique is used in this paper’s suggested strategy to produce and secure optimized points. The experiments are performed onn AMI and MMU2 databases. Clever system that can look at pictures of fruits and figure out what kind of fruit each picture shows. AI algorithms like deep learning, which is like giving the Machine learning model a crash course in fruit recognition. This method teaches the ML Model we clearly explained the Model using application's agent using PEAS and the application's task environment using the 6 dimensions by showing it tons of fruit images, so over time, it gets really good at spotting the differences and similarities between, say, a banana and a grape. We also used another technique called pattern recognition, which helps the computer pay attention to specific details like the fruit's color, shape, size and texture. Overcoming multiple obstacles in order to automatically identify the type of fruit from the picture. The variety of images is influencing the color, texture, and shape of many different types of fruits. When it came to fruit picture detection, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) Algorithm outperformed standard support-vector-machine-based approaches using handcrafted features in terms of accuracy also, it is a lot faster to implement for new fruits. By integrating deep learning and pattern recognition techniques such as Convolutional Neural Network Algorithm we have got the accuracy of 84%, our system efficiently identified different fruit types from images, demonstrating the power and effectiveness of our methods. The goal of our project is to create a tool that can quickly and correctly identify many types of fruits in photos, which could be useful for things like sorting fruits in a grocery store or helping people learn about different fruits by using Convolutional Neural Network Algorithm. This is not just about teaching a computer to recognize fruits;it is about making technology that can understand and interact with the world in a way that is helpful to us. © 2025 IEEE.

Cyberbullying is a severe issue that impacts teens and adults alike. Errors like hopelessness and suicide have resulted from it. The demand for material on social media platforms to be regulated is growing. In the work that follows, machine learning and natural language processing are used to construct a model to identify cyberbullying in text data. The program leverages data from two different types of cyberbullying: personal attacks on Wikipedia forums and tweets containing hate speech. To determine the optimal approach, three feature extraction techniques and four classifiers are examined. The method produces more than 80% accurate data from Wikipedia and more than 90% correct data from Twitter. © 2024 IEEE.

Adaptive algorithm for controlling the power management system on offshore jack-up drilling rigs

The power systems of offshore jack-up drilling rigs consist of diesel generators running in parallel load-sharing mode, controlled by an automatic Power Management System (PMS). In this paper, the operational performance of the diesel generators (DG) and the PMS on a jack-up drilling rig is investigated, focusing on two critical offshore drilling operations: "pipe tripping" and "pulling/pumping out of the hole" (POOH). During these operations, large power swings occur in the system, subjecting the DGs to sudden load surges. These severe imbalances in the system cause the PMS to intermittently start and stop the engines throughout the operation, leading to various problematic conditions in the power plant. The paper provides a novel solution for intermittent starting and stopping of the DGs in the form of development and implementation of an adaptive PMS algorithm, a mathematical model of the system and a machine learning approach to event prediction of PMS operation in offshore drilling. Research demonstrates a noteworthy decrease in intermittent DG starting and stopping when the adaptive algorithm is implemented, with a 96% reduction during pipe tripping and an 87% reduction during POOH. This improvement comes at the expense of an 11% increase in engine running hours and a 1.5% rise in fuel consumption. Furthermore, by configuring the adaptive algorithm to economy mode, savings of up to 1700 liters of fuel per month are achievable. © 2024 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

Software project outcomes heavily depend on natural language requirements,often causing diverse interpretations and issues like ambiguities and incomplete or faulty *** are exploring machine learning to predict software bugs,but a more precise and general approach is *** bug prediction is crucial for software evolution and user training,prompting an investigation into deep and ensemble learning ***,these studies are not generalized and efficient when extended to other ***,this paper proposed a hybrid approach combining multiple techniques to explore their effectiveness on bug identification *** methods involved feature selection,which is used to reduce the dimensionality and redundancy of features and select only the relevant ones;transfer learning is used to train and test the model on different datasets to analyze how much of the learning is passed to other datasets,and ensemble method is utilized to explore the increase in performance upon combining multiple classifiers in a *** National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA)and four Promise datasets are used in the study,showing an increase in the model’s performance by providing better Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve(AUC-ROC)values when different classifiers were *** reveals that using an amalgam of techniques such as those used in this study,feature selection,transfer learning,and ensemble methods prove helpful in optimizing the software bug prediction models and providing high-performing,useful end mode.

A hybrid personality-aware recommendation system based on personality traits and types models

Personality-aware recommendation systems have been proven to achieve high accuracy compared to conventional recommendation systems. In addition to that, personality-aware recommendation systems could help alleviate cold start and data sparsity problems by adding the user’s personality traits in the recommendation process. The majority of the literature works used Big-Five personality model to represent the user’s personality, this is due to the popularity of Big-Five model in the literature of psychology. However, from personality computing perspective, the choice of the most suitable personality model that satisfy the requirements of the recommendation application and the recommended content type still needs further investigation. In this paper, we study and compare four personality-aware recommendation systems based on different personality models, namely Big-Five traits model, Eysenck model and HEXACO model from the personality traits theory, and Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MPTI) from the personality types theory. Furthermore, we propose a hybrid personality model for recommendation that takes advantage of the personality traits models, as well as the personality types models. Through extensive experiments on recommendation dataset, we prove the efficiency of the proposed model, especially in cold start settings. Our proposed hybrid personality-aware recommendation model improves the precision and recall in cold start settings by 21% and 18% respectively compared to the widely used Big-Five traits model. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

The high bandwidth and low latency of 6G network technology enable the successful application of monocular 3D object detection on vehicle *** 3D-object-detection-based Pseudo-LiDAR is a low-cost,lowpower solution compared to LiDAR solutions in the field of autonomous ***,this technique has some problems,i.e.,(1)the poor quality of generated Pseudo-LiDAR point clouds resulting from the nonlinear error distribution of monocular depth estimation and(2)the weak representation capability of point cloud features due to the neglected global geometric structure features of point clouds existing in LiDAR-based 3D detection ***,we proposed a Pseudo-LiDAR confidence sampling strategy and a hierarchical geometric feature extraction module for monocular 3D object *** first designed a point cloud confidence sampling strategy based on a 3D Gaussian distribution to assign small confidence to the points with great error in depth estimation and filter them out according to the ***,we present a hierarchical geometric feature extraction module by aggregating the local neighborhood features and a dual transformer to capture the global geometric features in the point ***,our detection framework is based on Point-Voxel-RCNN(PV-RCNN)with high-quality Pseudo-LiDAR and enriched geometric features as *** the experimental results,our method achieves satisfactory results in monocular 3D object detection.

Road damage detection (RDD) through computer vision and deep learning techniques can ensure the safety of vehicles and humans on the roads. Integrating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in RDD and infrastructure evaluation (IE) has also emerged as a key enabler, contributing significantly to data acquisition and real-time monitoring of road damages, such as potholes, cracks, and surface anomalies, facilitating proactive maintenance and improved road conditions. These UAVs are low-powered and resource-constrained devices that work autonomously to perform pattern detection and decision making leveraging tiny machine learning (Tiny ML) algorithms. These Tiny ML algorithms are designed to run on edge devices, IoT devices, UAVs, etc. In this study, the RDD2022 data set collected using UAVs and dashboard cameras of vehicles was utilized to train pure and mixed models that exhibit class instance imbalance in certain classes which is addressed by implementing data augmentation as a regularization technique. State-of-the-art two-stage detectors: Faster R-CNN ResNet101 and one-stage detectors: SSD MobileNet V1 FPN, YOLOv5, and Efficientdet D1 are employed. The results indicate that the two-stage detector achieved an impressive mean average precision (mAP) of 88.49% overall and 96.62% for focused classes. Notably, the state-of-the-art Efficientdet D1 approach achieved a competitive mAP of 86.47% overall and 95.12% for focused classes, with significantly lower computational cost. These findings highlight the potential of advanced object detection techniques, particularly Efficientdet D1, to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of RDD systems, thereby improving passenger safety and overall performance. © 2014 IEEE.

This paper offers a comprehensive review of video surveillance systems for smart cities, examining both their benefits and drawbacks. Emotion-oriented Cross-modal Prompting and Alignment for Human-centric Emotional Video Captioning

Human-centric Emotional Video Captioning (H-EVC) aims to generate fine-grained, emotion-related sentences for human-based videos, enhancing the understanding of human emotions and facilitating human-computer emotional interaction. However, existing video captioning methods primarily focus on overall event content, often overlooking sufficient subtle emotional clues and interactions in videos. As a result, the generated captions frequently lack emotional information. To address this, we propose a novel Emotion-oriented Cross-modal Prompting and Alignment (ECPA) approach for large foundation models to enhance H-EVC accuracy by effectively modeling fine-grained visual-textual emotion clues and interactions. Using large foundation models, our ECPA introduces two learnable prompting strategies: visual emotion prompting (VEP) and textual emotion prompting (TEP), as well as an emotion-oriented cross-modal alignment (ECA) module. In VEP, we develop two-level learnable visual prompts, i.e., emotion recognition (ER)-level and action unit (AU)-level prompting, to assist pre-trained vision-language foundation models to attend to both coarse and fine emotion-related visual information in videos. In TEP, we correspondingly devise two-level learnable textual prompts, i.e., sentence-level emotional tokens, and word-level masked tokens, for obtaining both whole and local textual prompt representations related to emotions. To further facilitate the interaction and alignment of visual-textual emotion prompt representations, our ECA introduces another two levels of emotion-oriented prompt alignment learning mechanisms: the ER-sentence level and the AU-word level alignment losses. Both enhance the model's ability to capture and integrate both global and local cross-modal emotion semantics, thereby enabling the generation of fine-grained emotional linguistic descriptions in video captioning.
