As a frontier technology,holography has important research values in fields such as bio-micrographic imaging,light feld modulation and data ***,the real-time acquisition of 3D scenes and high-fidelity reconstruction technology has not yet made a breakthrough,which has seriously hindered the development of ***,a novel holographic camera is proposed to solve the above inherent problems *** proposed holographic camera consists of the acquisition end and the calculation *** the acquisition end of the holographic camera,specially configured liquid materials and liquid lens structure based on voice-coil motor-driving are used to produce the liquid camera,so that the liquid camera can quickly capture the focus stack of the real 3D scene within 15 *** the calculation end,a new structured focus stack network(FS-Net)is designed for hologram *** training the FS-Net with the focus stack renderer and learnable Zernike phase,it enables hologram calculation within 13 *** the first device to achieve real-time incoherent acquisition and high-fidelity holographic reconstruction of a real 3D scene,our proposed holographic camera breaks technical bottlenecks of difficulty in acquiring the real 3D scene,low quality of the holographic reconstructed image,and incorrect defocus *** experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our holographic camera in the acquisition of focal plane information and hologram calculation of the real 3D *** proposed holographic camera opens up a new way for the application of holography in fields such as 3D display,light field modulation,and 3D measurement.

Intrusion detection system and fuzzy ant colony optimization based secured routing in wireless sensor networks

Recent advances in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have brought the sensor based monitoring developments to the surface in many applications. In such a scenario, the security of communication is a major challenge in the effective delivery of the collected data due to the presence of malicious nodes. Moreover, since security and minimization of energy consumption are critical factors in designing techniques for multi-hop secure routing in wireless sensor networks, it is necessary to address the issues of security in the routing process. Hence, this paper proposes a novel intrusion detection system for enhancing the security and Fuzzy based Ant Colony Optimization based Secured Quality of Service Routing Protocol (F-ACO-SQoSRP) for increasing the security of communication and network performance in WSNs. Using this proposed intrusion detection system (IDS), the proposed model identifies the distinct and malicious behaviours of nodes. Additionally, a clustering algorithm has been proposed in this work, wherein the cluster head selection (CHS) is based on quality of service (QoS) measures and the trust values of nodes are measured using the intrusion detection system results. The proposed ACO based routing framework also predicts the best optimum and secured path to allow for effective communication across each link. The simulation results obtained from this work proved that the proposed secured routing algorithm provides better performance in terms of security using robust trust values, increase in packet delivery ratio and network lifetime reduction in delay and energy consumption when this work is compared with the existing secured routing systems. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Emotion mining for early suicidal threat detection on both social media and suicide notes using context dynamic masking-based transformer with deep learning

Suicide represents a poignant societal issue deeply entwined with mental well-being. While existing research primarily focuses on identifying suicide-related texts, there is a gap in the advanced detection of mental health states leading to suicidal tendencies. The purpose is to recognize the emotions influencing individuals’ mental states, potentially leading to suicidal behavior. This study seeks to identify specific emotions like anger, depression, anxiety, guilt, fear, stress, and sadness within suicide-related texts sourced from both social media and suicide notes. We introduce a novel suicide severity assessment method emphasizing emotion detection across categories like suicidal ideation, suicide planning, attempted, committed, suicide notes, describing, and cannot dare. By identifying high-intensity negative emotions, our approach enables early detection of potential suicide threats. Existing studies often struggle to capture nuances and semantic relationships, particularly in suicide-related contexts. To address this, we propose a context dynamic masking based on bidirectional long short-term memory along with a multi-head self-attention and convolutional neural network (CoDyn-BMHSA-CNN) model, capturing bidirectional contexts and maintaining variable-length sequences. Our model achieves accuracies of 98.2% and 97.4%, with F1 scores of 95.5% and 93.8% for social media and suicide note datasets, respectively. We perform ablation tests to pinpoint the key components of our proposed models. Furthermore, a thorough comparative analysis evaluates the model’s performance across various contexts and platforms. Experimental results illustrate the superior effectiveness of our model in identifying emotions from text sequences compared to state-of-the-art approaches. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

This systematic review gave special attention to diabetes and the advancements in food and nutrition needed to prevent or manage diabetes in all its forms. There are two main forms of diabetes mellitus: Type 1 (T1D) and Type 2 (T2D). The loss of beta cells brought on by an autoimmune reaction causes the pancreas to be unable to produce enough insulin, which leads to Type 1 diabetes. A deficiency of insulin could arise as the illness worsens. The most frequent cause is a combination of excessive body weight and inadequate exercise. Currently, 90–95% of patients have Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Age-specific normal blood sugar ranges exist and knowing them is crucial for determining a target blood sugar level that is both healthy and appropriate. The main takeaway is that diet regimens ought to be tailored to the patient’s requirements and should account for their capacity for change. Carbohydrates are the nutrients that have the biggest impact on the rise in blood glucose. In this paper, we have proposed a novel method for glucose monitoring and diet recommendations for diabetic patients using fog computing. A paradigm known as fog computing makes use of the benefits that come from using both cloud and edge devices to support modern computing systems by offering high-quality services, cutting latency, facilitating mobility, supporting multi-tenancy, and many other features. © 2025 by Begell House, Inc.

SuspAct: novel suspicious activity prediction based on deep learning in the real-time environment

In today’s evolving landscape of video surveillance, our study introduces SuspAct, an innovative ensemble model designed to detect suspicious activities in real time swiftly. Leveraging advanced Long-term Recurrent Convolutional Networks (LRCN), SuspAct represents a significant advancement in intelligent surveillance technology. By combining insights from various LRCN models through the Majority Voting ensemble technique, SuspAct enhances its overall robustness, outperforming traditional surveillance methods. Through rigorous experimentation on large-scale datasets, we demonstrate SuspAct’s superiority in proactive crime prevention, showcasing its potential to revolutionize security protocols and contribute substantially to public safety. Heart sound classification method using gammatonegram and SVM

Today cardiovascular diseases have been posing a serious threat to human lives all over the world. Various automated decision-making systems have been proposed by the researchers to help cardiologists to diagnose heart health with more perfection, thus, reducing the frequency of fatalities. This research aims at classifying the Phonocardiogram (PCG) signals captured from the functioning of the cardiac system as normal or abnormal. The methodology proposed here has been validated using the benchmark dataset PhysioNet Computing in Cardiology (CinC) 2016. As of this writing, the studies carried out using contemporary techniques have so far been unable to generate pictorial representation from cardiac audio recordings that match the way the ear processes sound. The present research suggests a unique methodology for the detection of important events in an audio signal using a biologically-inspired depiction of the audio stream through a picture known as Gammatonegram which correlates to the processing of audio in the cochlea membrane of the inner human auditory system. In this study, texture-related features which include Linear Ternary Pattern (LTP), Local Directional Pattern (LDP), Geometric Local Textural Pattern (GLTP), and Local Phase Quantization (LPQ) have been extracted from a visual representation of PCG signal such as Spectrogram, Scalogram, Mel-spectrogram, and Gammatonegram. As compared to the case when researchers were employing other images, it has been noticed that the fusion of the features retrieved from the Gammatonegram has led to an increased overall classification performance metrics. The experiment yielded an overall accuracy of 94.00 % with precision and F1 scores of 91.77 and 93.61 respectively. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The cellular automaton (CA), a discrete model, is gaining popularity in simulations and scientific exploration across various domains, including cryptography, error-correcting codes, VLSI design and test pattern generation. This paper examines a two-state three-neighborhood nonuniform finite CA with a specified number of fixed points. We utilize a graph-based tool known as the next state rule minterm transition diagram (NSRTD) to analyze the spatiotemporal behavior of these cellular automata (CAs) across all lengths. We devise methods for synthesizing nonuniform single length cycle multi-attractor CAs (MACAs), a specialized class of irreversible CA with a predefined number of fixed points for any arbitrary length. Despite the method’s exponential worstcase time complexity, it offers the advantage of selecting rules for each CA cell from a set of candidate rules, ensuring the desired number of fixed points. © 2025, Complex Systems Publications, Inc. Weighted rank aggregation based on ranker accuracies for feature selection

Rank aggregation is the combination of several ranked lists from a set of candidates to achieve a better ranking by combining information from different sources. In feature selection problem, due to the heterogeneity of methods, there are some base rankers (Filter-based methods) that are of diverse quality and usually the ground truth of ratings is not available. Existing rank aggregation methods that take the diverse quality of base rankers into account do not have any explicit approach for appropriate weighting, require prior assumptions, and suffers from high computational complexity. In this paper, to overcome these challenges, an efficient unsupervised method is introduced for estimating the base rankers’ qualities and aggregating the rankers based on the estimated weights. We first compute the ratio of disagreement between base rankers in ordering different element pairs and then estimate the accuracies in a way that to minimize the discrepancy between these computed ratios and their analytical counterparts. We use the weighted majority voting method for obtaining the aggregated results. To resolve the probable inconsistencies in the final aggregation, the result is formed as a graph, and a greedy algorithm is used to find an acyclic subgraph with the highest weigh. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed method, nine standard UCI datasets are used. The obtained results by the proposed method have higher values of classifier measures than the existing baseline Feature Selection methods and rank aggregation-based multi-filter methods in the most datasets. The experiments show that rank aggregation-based Feature Selection methods outperform individual methods. The proposed method also shows the weight of each Filter-based Feature Selection method, in which the MRMR method has a higher weight than other methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Patient Questionnaires Based Parkinson’s Disease Classification Using Artificial Neural Network

Parkinson’s disease is one of the most prevalent and harmful neurodegenerative conditions (PD). Even today, PD diagnosis and monitoring remain pricy and inconvenient processes. With the unprecedented progress of artificial intelligence algorithms, there is an opportunity to develop a cost-effective system for diagnosing PD at an earlier stage. No permanent remedy has been established yet;however, an earlier diagnosis helps lead a better life. Probably, the three most responsible categories of symptoms for Parkinson’s Disease are tremors, rigidity, and body bradykinesia. Therefore, we investigate the 53 unique features of the Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative dataset to determine the significant symptoms, including three major categories. As feature selection is integral to developing a generalized model, we investigate including and excluding feature selection. Four feature selection methods are incorporated—low variance filter, Wilcoxon rank-sum test, principle component analysis, and Chi-square test. Furthermore, we utilize machine learning, ensemble learning, and artificial neural networks (ANN) for classification. Experimental evidence shows that not all symptoms are equally important, but no symptom can be completely eliminated. However, our proposed ANN model attains the best mean accuracy of 99.51%, 98.17% mean specificity, 0.9830 mean Kappa Score, 0.99 mean AUC, and 99.70% mean F1-score with all the features. The efficiency of our suggested technique on diverse data modalities is demonstrated by comparison with recent publications. A Semantic-Based Approach for Self-Configuring Smart Home Systems Using Feedback-Based Reinforcement Learning

As urban populations grow, smart home technology has become a key enabler for enhancing energy efficiency, comfort, and convenience in residential environments. However, existing smart home implementations often struggle to adapt to complex and dynamic user needs due to issues like device heterogeneity, rigid pre-set solutions, and limited interoperability. This paper presents a novel semantic-based self-configuring framework that captures the functional, operational, state, and characteristic perspectives of smart home devices, facilitating seamless interconnection and interoperability across heterogeneous devices. The proposed framework uses service entity, that is semantically modeled to act as a linker and mediator between applications and devices to enable dynamic scheduling and control based on application requests and user preferences. To enable continuous adaptation and learning, the proposed approach formulates the self-configuration problem as a Markov Decision Process (MDP), with parameters instantiated using semantic information and rules. A novel Feedback-based Reinforcement Learning approach is then proposed to adjust the reward function and state transition parameters based on user feedback. The performances of the proposed approach against a bench-marked fixed and rule-based mechanisms are demonstrated through simulation. © 2014 IEEE.
