With the speedy growth in the technology and automation sectors, different techniques have been developed which can easily manipulate multimedia content such as videos and images with the ultimate level of realism. It becomes very hard for a person to find out which of the media content is real and which is fake. With the help of deep learning and GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks), deep fakes can be produced. A Deep fake is a fake video or image where a person in an existing video or image is replaced by someone else by using an algorithm. If we look at the positives, we can see how deep fake technology can be used in advertisements, filmmaking, and video games. But on the contrary, it also results in the spread of fake news and the generation of pornographic content. This seriously impacts society and presents enormous threats. A collaborative search engine is used for a group of users who want to search information together for various group activities. This will be time saving as the users can split the work between them. Summarization is the process of condensing a document into a shorter version which will contain the important details about the document. This will be useful to quickly get the main ideas without having to go through the entire document. Our main aim is to combine collaborative search with document summarization so that it will be helpful when users in a group want to quickly read the summary of the documents whenever required. In the collaborative search, the results will be re-ranked based on the user's interaction with the system, so that feedback driven ranking of results is attained and the users in a session will be able to view pages that were even ranked by their co-mates. This re-raking process is done by obtaining the user's interest on a particular page using decision logic and updating it in the priority queue. User's meta-data like page size, click-through rate, time spent and scrolling speed of the document will be calculated and these will be used as parameters for the decision logic to find the interest level of the user. Extractive summarization is implemented with the concept of Maximum Independent Set. The raw text document is first converted into a graph having its sentences as nodes and the edge weight is the similar instances between sentences. Then graph MIS is identified and removed after which the top-n sentences are fetched upon its eigenvector centrality value and the summary is generated. © 2024 IEEE.

An improved LOS Guidance and Sail-Rudder Cooperative Controller for the Path Tracking of Unmanned Sailboats

Unmanned sailboats are driven only by wind, making them good platforms for the synchronous observation of air-sea interfaces over a large range. Compared with traditional unmanned ships, the unmanned sailboat involves simultaneous sail and rudder control for path tracking in unpredictable marine environments. The system is characterized by strong coupling and nonlinearity, creating challenges for the design of controllers. This paper combines line-of-sight (LOS) guidance with the introduction of a sideslip angle observer and model predictive control. A high-precision path tracking strategy suitable for cooperative sail and rudder control for unmanned sailboats is proposed. First, considering the lateral error easily caused by the large sideslip angle of sailboats, a full-path fixed-time guidance strategy with double fixed-time sideslip angle observers (DFSO) is proposed. Second, different from the previous strategy of decoupling the sail and rudder to control the speed and heading, the proposed cooperative control framework uses Lyapunov-based model predictive control (LMPC). The sailing speed and heading angle are both accounted for in the objective function, and the stability is verified by Lyapunov theory. Finally, the feasibility and superiority of this proposed method are confirmed by numerical simulation experiments involving the path tracking of a four degree of freedom sailboat model integrated with wind and waves in an ocean environment. One of the crucial approaches that use tracking and analyzing human movement for the identification of functional disorders and illnesses of the human body is known as the gait analysis method. This method helps diagnose neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. It also tracks the effectiveness of rehabilitation. However, conventional techniques for analyzing gait frequently depend on costly items and methods like fixed lab apparatus, force plates, and motion capture devices. But new developments in wearable sensor technology and machine learning provide new methods that are cheaper, more affordable, portable, and easily accessible. It continuously tracks gait in real-world settings. In this work, the use of wearable sensors for gait analysis, which includes devices like magnetometers, gyroscopes, and accelerometers, is examined. They are integrated into gadgets like smartphones, insoles, and smartwatches and offer real-time kinematic data that machine learning algorithms can analyze. Some of the important gait parameters 1that are extracted from sensor data are stride length, cadence, and gait symmetry. Machine learning is used to process this data and use it for categorization and gait analysis. The suggested method improves patient monitoring outside of clinical settings. It supports individualized rehabilitation plans and also identifies early indicators of gait abnormalities. The use of the wearable sensor-based gait analysis may emerge as a game-changing medical tool. It offers constant, discrete monitoring and prompts intervention in gait-related disorders. This works explains it thoroughly. This report offers insights for upcoming researchers in the field by surveying the state of the art in wearable sensor-based gait analysis. © 2025 IEEE.

Local Binary Pattern (LBP) and Transfer Learning Based Approach to Classify Lung and Colon Cancer

Several genetic disorders and other metabolic abnormalities work together to generate the lethal disease known as cancer. Today’s most contributing factors to mortality and disability in patients are lung and colon cancer. A World Health Organization (WHO) 2020 report listed cancer as one of the leading causes of mortality globally. About 2.735 million of these fatalities were caused by lung and colon cancer combined. A critical component of the patient’s treatment is the diagnosis of lung cancer by histopathology. Therefore, one of the leading research priorities, mostly in the domain of biomedical health information systems, is the identification and categorization of lung and colon cancer. The present article encompasses the Local Binary Pattern (LBP) and transfer learning-based approaches to classify lung as well as colon cancer. LBP has been used for extracting features, and transfer learning has been used for the classification of lung and colon cancer. Histopathological (LC25000) lung and colon datasets are used to validate the proposed methodology. The results of the proposed method have also been compared with different existing methods and reported in the article. Our proposed method has an average accuracy of 99.00% and a F1 score of 99.2%, whereas precision and recall have 99.4% for lung and colon cancer detection. The results of the investigation demonstrate that our suggested technique greatly outperforms current models. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
