Evolution of “Michigan Probes” has enabled unraveling the connectivity of neurons at cellular resolution and their dynamic interaction within and across brain areas that underlie behavioral and cognitive functions. Recently, micro-LEDs were monolithically integrated for optogenetic neuromodulation at scale without requiring external optical fiber connection. The ‘hectoSTAR’ micro-LED optoelectrode features 256 recording electrodes and 128 stimulation micro-LEDs in four silicon micro-needle shanks, covering a large volume with 1.3-mm × 0.9-mm cross-sectional area located as deep as 6 mm inside the brain. Technical challenges to overcome in scaling of optogenetic probes will be discussed, followed by future direction.

Pressure ulcers (PUs) are a common problem associated with great morbidity and cost. Because of the lack of professional personnel in the institutions or home care system, the diagnosis and treatment of PUs were sometimes delayed. We aim to develop an automatic tissue classification and severity evaluation system of PUs using AI technology. All PU images were collected from patients in the Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) in recent 3 years and labeled according to different tissue types. The labeled images were used to train the tissue segmentation model with U-net convolutional neural network (CNN). The percentage of the different tissue can be calculated automatically and would be compared with the manually labeled one. The output of tissue classification was transformed to a clinical decision support system (CDSS) with a rule-base formula. Our study showed that proposed system can classify each tissue automatically and reach an accuracy about 93.6%. However, the CDSS's accuracy rate was only 64% for the referral suggestion and 62% for the care recommendation. Hence, the system should be modified with more data and information. © 2021 ACM.

While various models and computational tools have been proposed for structure and property analysis of molecules, generating molecules that conform to all desired structures and properties remains a challenge. Here, we introduce a multi-constraint molecular generation large language model, TSMMG, which, akin to a student, incorporates knowledge from various small models and tools, namely, the 'teachers'. To train TSMMG, we construct a large set of text-molecule pairs by extracting molecular knowledge from these 'teachers', enabling it to generate novel molecules that conform to the descriptions through various text prompts. We experimentally show that TSMMG remarkably performs in generating molecules meeting complex, natural language-described property requirements across two-, three-, and four-constraint tasks, with an average molecular validity of over 99% and success ratio of 82.58%, 68.03%, and 67.48%, respectively. The model also exhibits adaptability through zero-shot testing, creating molecules that satisfy combinations of properties that have not been encountered. It can comprehend text inputs with various language styles, extending beyond the confines of outlined prompts, as confirmed through empirical validation. Additionally, the knowledge distillation feature of TSMMG contributes to the continuous enhancement of small models, while the innovative approach to dataset construction effectively addresses the issues of data scarcity and quality, which positions TSMMG as a promising tool in the domains of drug discovery and materials science. The development of game technology has opened up new possibilities in learning methods through educational games. However, in Indonesia, the application of this concept is lacking. One lesson that can benefit from educational games is Indonesian History in class X, with a focus on history in the pre-literacy period. This study aims to create a puzzle-Adventure type of digital game that can help educate students about the pre-literacy period, developed with Unity, and uses WebGL as a target device while referring to Indonesia's revised 2013 national curriculum. The result of this research is the creation of a digital game that can be played on average of 254.36 seconds, with potential for educational use. A survey result shows that many of the ancient objects and some of the ages are well-recognized. However, the survey also shows many of the gameplay aspects, such as UI, gameplay features, and adventure elements, need improvements. © 2020 IEEE.

Personnel and education data very important for organizations, including the military. All data related to military personnel will give effect positions and careers in the military field. The integration of personnel and education data can assist in processing and decision making. An analysis is needed so that the developed system can be useful for the long term. Analysis with IT balanced scorecard and COBIT® 2019, will be able to help and fill the gaps in the existing system based on the objectives of the military organization itself. It is shown that the domains BAI05 (Managed Organizational Change) and DSS02 (Managed Service Requests and Incidents) are still not being implemented well. The system developed will have the features and capabilities to support the organization in achieving its goals, including in the field of staffing and education. Besides, it provides convenience in making decisions in terms of positions related to personnel careers. © 2020 IEEE.

We report preliminary results of extracting electrical parameters like DC conductivity, mobility, and carrier concentration of single-layer graphene using Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) in transmission geometry. We utilize a simple Drude model and its extension, the Drude-Smith model, capable of accommodating charge carrier scattering by optical and acoustic phonons to describe the complex conductivity in graphene. We observed that a significant area of the sample scanned followed the Drude-Smith behavior, while at a few locations, the simple Drude behavior prevailed. We identified possible reasons that might contribute to this observation, like defects, the presence of polymer residue on the sample, or the sample strain. This research sheds new light on our understanding of graphene's electrical properties and lays the foundation for future investigations addressing defects and contaminants in graphene samples.
