Sequential recommendation aims to identify and recommend the next few items for a user that the user is most likely to purchase/review, given the user's purchase/rating trajectories. It becomes an effective tool to help users select favorite items from a variety of options. In this manuscript, we developed hybrid associations models ( $\mathop {\mathtt {HAM}}\limits$ ) to generate sequential recommendations using three factors: 1) users’ long-term preferences, 2) sequential, high-order and low-order association patterns in the users’ most recent purchases/ratings, and 3) synergies among those items. $\mathop {\mathtt {HAM}}\limits$ uses simplistic pooling to represent a set of items in the associations, and element-wise product to represent item synergies of arbitrary orders. We compared $\mathop {\mathtt {HAM}}\limits$ models with the most recent, state-of-the-art methods on six public benchmark datasets in three different experimental settings. Our experimental results demonstrate that $\mathop {\mathtt {HAM}}\limits$ models significantly outperform the state of the art in all the experimental settings. with an improvement as much as 46.6 percent. In addition, our run-time performance comparison in testing demonstrates that $\mathop {\mathtt {HAM}}\limits$ models are much more efficient than the state-of-the-art methods. and are able to achieve significant speedup as much as 139.7 folds.

Emotions play a crucial role in decision-making, moral judgments, and other cognitive processes. The goal of this work is to identify people's facial emotions from face images. Facial expression recognition (FER), a highly diverse field with many commonalities between classes, is a challenging problem. The capabilities of current FER systems are limited in this regard. In this work, a multi-block Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (DCNN) model was proposed to identify facial expressions. Five blocks with different computational components were defined in a multi-block DCNN to extract the unique characteristics from input images. The second model (DCNN-SVM) is developed with an ensemble of SVM classifier to improve predictability and stability. The third model (DCNN-MV) is based on the majority voting with 4 classifiers SVM, KNN, Random Forest, and Decision Tree. The CK+ dataset was utilized and expanded via image data augmentation to enhance model performance and generalization. By adjusting hyperparameters, the suggested DCNN model's accuracy was investigated. The DCNN model reports an accuracy score of 97.71%. Both DCNN-SVM and DCNN-MV models achieved 97.79% accuracy. On the CK+ dataset, the proposed models demonstrated good accuracy in identifying facial expressions. When compared to existing models, the proposed model outperformed existing models in terms of accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Outliers are uncommon observations that are dispersed from most of the other data Points. These points, which can be abnormally high or low, can significantly affect the entire analysis and forecasting of the data. The purpose of this Research Paper is to examine the implementation of Outlier Elimination Algorithms on Pulsar Stars dataset. It is attributed as an HTRU2 (High Time Resolution Universe Survey) project, which focuses on identifying new pulsar candidates based on the data from Parkes radio telescope in Australia. On this dataset, a total of 6 Outlier Elimination Algorithms are implemented;Z-Score, DBSCAN(Density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise), Mahalanobis Distance, Median Absolute Deviation, Multivariate Normal Distribution for N Dimension, Angle-based Outlier Detection (ABOD). After removal of the identified Outliers, to determine which Outlier Technique was more effective, 4 Machine Learning Techniques are deployed-Random Forest, Decision Tree, Naive Bayes and XGBoost. Furthermore, Accuracies, Recall, Precision and F1 Score values were compared. Every deployed Outlier algorithm must have a consistent quantity of Outliers in order to be evaluated for efficacy. For the same around 2600-2800 number of Outliers are eliminated for each Technique. Multivariate Normal Distribution for N Dimension Outlier Algorithm with Random Forest yields Highest Accuracy of 98.2%. ABOD with Naive Bayes gives Highest Recall Value of 0.93, Z-Score with Random Forest results in Highest Precision value of 0.96 and ABOD with Random Forest yields Highest F1-Score value of 0.92. From the information provided above, it is also clear that Random Forest produces the greatest Accuracy, Precision, and F1-Score values among all the Machine Learning algorithms that have been deployed. Therefore, for improved outcomes, the Random Forest technique should be utilized after the outliers are removed. © 2024 IEEE.

Agriculture, vital for global sustenance, necessitates innovative solutions due to a lack of organized domain experts, particularly in developing countries where many farmers are impoverished and cannot afford expert consulting. Initiatives like Farmers Helpline play a crucial role in such countries, yet challenges such as high operational costs persist. Automating query resolution can alleviate the burden on traditional call centers, providing farmers with immediate and contextually relevant information. The integration of Agriculture and Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers a transformative opportunity to empower farmers and bridge information gaps. Language models like transformers, the rising stars of AI, possess remarkable language understanding capabilities, making them ideal for addressing information gaps in agriculture. This work 1 explores and demonstrates the transformative potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) in automating query resolution for agricultural farmers, leveraging their expertise in deciphering natural language and understanding context. Using a subset of a vast dataset of real-world farmer queries collected in India, our study focuses on approximately 4 million queries from the state of Tamil Nadu, spanning various sectors, seasonal crops, and query types. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Background: Recent technological advances in wearable devices offer new potential for measuring mobility in real-world contexts. Mobilise-D has validated digital mobility outcomes to provide novel outcomes and end points in clinical research of 4 different long-term health conditions (Parkinson disease, multiple sclerosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and proximal femoral fracture). These outcomes also provide unique information that is important to patients;however, there is limited literature that explores the optimal methods to achieve this, such as the best way to visualize patients’ data. Objective: This study aimed to identify meaningful outcomes for each condition and how to best visualize them from the perspective of end users. Methods: Using a Delphi-type protocol with patients as subject matter experts, we gathered iterative feedback on the cocreation of visualizations through 3 rounds of questionnaires. An open-ended questionnaire was used in round 1 to understand what aspects of mobility were most influenced by their health condition. These responses were mapped onto relevant digital mobility outcomes and walking experiences and then prioritized for visualization. Using patient responses, we worked alongside researchers, clinicians, and a patient advisory group to develop visualizations that depicted a week of mobility data. During rounds 2 and 3, participants rated usefulness and ease of understanding on a 5-point Likert scale and provided unstructured feedback in comment boxes for each visualization. Visualizations were refined using the feedback from round 2 before receiving further feedback in round 3. Results: Participation varied across rounds 1 to 3 (n=48, n=79, and n=78, respectively). Round 1 identified important outcomes and contexts for each health condition, such as walking speed and stride length for people with Parkinson disease or multiple sclerosis and number of steps for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or prox

Present natural lives shows rising attention in various applications of the wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Significant applications are isolated and stiff regions where human involvement is hazardous or unfeasible. Some examples are space investigation, battlefield observation, costal, and edge security;nowadays, such networks are needful in several manufacturing and customer applications. A WSN is a device system, indicated as nodes;these nodes intellect the atmosphere and transfer the details collected from the ground through a wireless connection. Statistics are sent, probably via many hops, to a target that can use it nearby or is linked to various networks using the gateway. The sensor nodes might be stationary or changeable. Every node has clear data about the neighborhood or not. Communication over WSN over ecological hazards is a key issue. These constraints might impact the performance of the sensors/direction finding protocols and resource utilization;thus, they may show the way to the node crash situation, i.e., software/hardware breakdown, safety threats, extreme power utilization, etc. It is essential to examine the collision of breakdown over system performance. In the projected method, relay nodes are used as secure nodes for the positioned sensor nodes. The projected method is separated into two phases: the intra segregation stage and inter segregation stage. In the intra segregation stage, the unnecessary nodes reach nearer to the segregation border, and dispersion slowly enlarges the coverage. The projected model is examined through simulations and compares the results with existing methods. © 2021

The problem of data imbalance has received far- reaching concerns since they could affect the accuracy of classification problem in the area of machine learning. As the minority class instances can be ignored by traditional classifiers, it is necessary to improve the recognition rate of minority instances. Therefore, the paper proposes a new hybrid sampling method to solve the data imbalance problem by enlarging the proportion of minority instances. For the oversampling part, a variant of SMOTE is provided combining methods of LR-SMOTE and CCR (Combined Cleaning and Resampling Algorithm);for the under-sampling part, the Tomek-link method is utilized to complete the task. After the pre-processing stage, the data set is classified by Random Forest (RF). Experimental results show that the novel algorithm effectively enhances the performance of RF on the data set with a higher accuracy. © 2021 IEEE.

A dictionary learning (DL)-based method for mul-tisubject functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data analysis is proposed. The method can incorporate group attributes to find the neural activation maps that are common across groups as well as those that are explanatory of the group differences. The key contribution is to significantly improve the map estimation performance by mitigating undesirable local optima obtained from a supervised DL formulation for fMRI data analysis. We introduce two novel ideas, namely, developing a variant of Fisher's discriminant cost, which is imposed on the non-discriminative features, and optimally permuting the dictionary and the sparse factor such that the solution is not trapped to unwanted local optima. Preliminary tests on synthetic and real data sets verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach. © 2024 IEEE.
