Parkinson's disease manifests itself in a variety of ways. slurred speech, muscle rigidity, and tremors. The condition can also affect the production of the brain's dopamine. Therapies can help treat conditions after a diagnosis, however, there is no remedy. The paper primarily analyses the many drawing evaluation methods and disease diagnoses that have been used. The AI deep learning idea was used, along with convolutional neural networks and artificial neural networks. However, this article proposes a model for detecting disease using drawings of different persons from two classes. Disease detection on photos has been accomplished using a variety of techniques such as data augmentation, sequential, and CNN. The acoustic feature data was processed using a Decision tree and ANN with GridsearchCV, and the overall accuracy on testing data was 98 percent. © 2022 IEEE.

Background: Decades of steady improvements in life expectancy in Europe slowed down from around 2011, well before the COVID-19 pandemic, for reasons which remain disputed. We aimed to assess how changes in risk factors and cause-specific death rates in different European countries related to changes in life expectancy in those countries before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: We used data and methods from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2021 to compare changes in life expectancy at birth, causes of death, and population exposure to risk factors in 16 European Economic Area countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden) and the four UK nations (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales) for three time periods: 1990–2011, 2011–19, and 2019–21. Changes in life expectancy and causes of death were estimated with an established life expectancy cause-specific decomposition method, and compared with summary exposure values of risk factors for the major causes of death influencing life expectancy. Findings: All countries showed mean annual improvements in life expectancy in both 1990–2011 (overall mean 0·23 years [95% uncertainty interval [UI] 0·23 to 0·24]) and 2011–19 (overall mean 0·15 years [0·13 to 0·16]). The rate of improvement was lower in 2011–19 than in 1990–2011 in all countries except for Norway, where the mean annual increase in life expectancy rose from 0·21 years (95% UI 0·20 to 0·22) in 1990–2011 to 0·23 years (0·21 to 0·26) in 2011–19 (difference of 0·03 years). In other countries, the difference in mean annual improvement between these periods ranged from –0·01 years in Iceland (0·19 years [95% UI 0·16 to 0·21] vs 0·18 years [0·09 to 0·26]), to –0·18 years in England (0·25 years [0·24 to 0·25] vs 0·07 years [0·06 to 0·08]). Image fusion in Remote Sensing (RS) has been a consistent demand due to its ability to turn raw images of different resolutions, sources, and modalities into accurate, complete, and spatio-temporally coherent images. It greatly facilitates downstream applications such as pan-sharpening, change detection, land-cover classification, etc. Yet, image fusion solutions are highly disparate to various remote sensing problems and thus are often narrowly defined in existing reviews as topical applications, such as pan-sharpening, and spatial-temporal image fusion. Considering that image fusion can be theoretically applied to any gridded data through pixel-level operations, in this paper, we expanded its scope by comprehensively surveying relevant works with a simple taxonomy: 1) many-to-one image fusion;2) many-to-many image fusion. This simple taxonomy defines image fusion as a mapping problem that turns either a single or a set of images into another single or set of images, depending on the desired coherence, e.g., spectral, spatial/resolution coherence, etc. We show that this simple taxonomy, despite the significant modality difference it covers, can be presented by a conceptually easy framework. In addition, we provide a meta-analysis to review the major papers studying the various types of image fusion and their applications over the years (from the 1980s to date), covering 5,926 peer-reviewed papers. Finally, we discuss the main benefits and emerging challenges to provide open research directions and potential future works. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Recent deep learning-based methods outperform traditional learning methods on remote sensing (RS) semantic segmentation/classification tasks. However, they require large training datasets and are generally known for lack of transferability due to the highly disparate RS image content across different geographical regions. Yet, there is no comprehensive analysis of their transferability, i.e., to which extent a model trained on a source domain can be readily applicable to a target domain. Therefore, in this paper, we aim to investigate the raw transferability of traditional and deep learning (DL) models, as well as the effectiveness of domain adaptation (DA) approaches in enhancing the transferability of the DL models (adapted transferability). By utilizing four highly diverse RS datasets, we train six models with and without three DA approaches to analyze their transferability between these datasets quantitatively. Furthermore, we developed a straightforward method to quantify the transferability of a model using the spectral indices as a medium and have demonstrated its effectiveness in evaluating the model transferability at the target domain when the labels are unavailable. Our experiments yield several generally important yet not well-reported observations regarding the raw and adapted transferability. Moreover, our proposed label-free transferability assessment method is validated to be better than posterior model confidence. This paper considers the problem of online clustering with bandit feedback. A set of arms (or items) can be partitioned into various groups that are unknown. Within each group, the observations associated to each of the arms follow the same distribution with the same mean vector. At each time step, the agent queries or pulls an arm and obtains an independent observation from the distribution it is associated to. Subsequent pulls depend on previous ones as well as the previously obtained samples. The agent's task is to uncover the underlying partition of the arms with the least number of arm pulls and with a probability of error not exceeding a prescribed constant δ. The problem proposed finds numerous applications from clustering of variants of viruses to online market segmentation. We present an instance-dependent information-theoretic lower bound on the expected sample complexity for this task, and design a computationally efficient and asymptotically optimal algorithm, namely Bandit Online Clustering (BOC). The algorithm includes a novel stopping rule for adaptive sequential testing that circumvents the need to exactly solve any NP-hard weighted clustering problem as its subroutines. We show through extensive simulations on synthetic and real-world datasets that BOC's performance matches the lower bound asymptotically, and significantly outperforms a non-adaptive baseline algorithm.

Federated analysis can help perform large-scale analyses using neuroimaging datasets across various research groups overcoming the limitations of institutional data-sharing policies, privacy or regulatory concerns as it requires no data sharing. In this work, we employ a federated neuromark algorithm to generate independent component analysis (ICA) time courses data from functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data and feed it to a federated deep neural network (DNN) model to perform classification of schizophrenia patients versus controls. © 2024 IEEE.

One of the primary organ is the skin. It protects and separates humans from various dangers. Nevertheless, the skin is susceptible to damage and can develop pigmented lesions. Manual classification of Pigmented Skin Lesions(PSL) is a major challenge due to availability and bias of physician, time consuming, invasive methods are painful and with elevated expenses. To overcome this, in this paper, two automated computer vision based approaches (using and without using dimensionality reduction) are employed by modelling multi-deep features using Support Vector Machine(SVM) for classification of PSL. The suggested system comprises of two operational stages. Initially, the performance of six Convolutional Neural Network models (VGG16, VGG19, AlexNet, Xception, ResNet50, and EfficientB3) in deep feature extraction and three types of hand-crafted features extraction methods (HOG, LBP, and SIFT) employing SVM are evaluated. The top three CNN models (AlexNet, ResNet50, and EfficientB3) based on accuracy are used to form binary and ternary early fusion hybrid models to classify the skin lesions. In the second stage, combining multiple CNN models resulted in increased dimensionality and number of features. These features are then classified using SVM once in the higher dimension and again by reducing the dimensionality by applying Principal Component Analysis(PCA). The accuracies of the combined models are then compared. It is observed that the ternary early fusion model with SVM (Alexnet+Resnet50+EfficientB3-SVM) produces the highest accuracy of 82.22% with higher number of features whereas the same model while using PCA produces the accuracy of 81.57%. Consequently, the findings indicate the suggested techniques are useful for classification of PSL.

Recommending products to users means estimating their preferences for certain items over others. This can be cast either as a problem of estimating the rating that each user will give to each item, or as a problem of estimating users' relative preferences in the form of a ranking. Although collaborative-filtering approaches can be used to identify users who rate and rank products similarly, another source of data that informs us about users' preferences is their set of social connections. Both rating- and ranking-based paradigms are important in real-world recommendation settings, though rankings are especially important in settings where explicit feedback in the form of a numerical rating may not be available. Although many existing works have studied how social connections can be used to build better models for rating prediction, few have used social connections as a means to derive more accurate ranking-based models. Using social connections to better estimate users' rankings of products is the task we consider in this paper. We develop a model, SBPR (Social Bayesian Personalized Ranking), based on the simple observation that users tend to assign higher ranks to items that their friends prefer. We perform experiments on four real-world recommendation data sets, and show that SBPR outperforms alternatives in ranking prediction both in warm- and cold-start settings. Copyright 2014 ACM.

The popularity of Online Social Networks (OSNs) has attracted great research interests in different fields. In Economics, researchers use game theory to analyze the mechanism of network formation, which is called Network Formation Game. While in computer science, much effort has been done in building machine learning models to predict future or missing links. However, there are few works considering how to combine game theoretic analysis and machine learning models. Therefore, in this paper, we study the problem of Exploiting Game Theoretic Analysis for Link Recommendation in Social Networks. Our goal is to improve link recommendation accuracy via leveraging the power of Network Formation Games into machine learning models. We present two different approaches to solve this problem. First, we propose a three-phase method that straightforwardly combines game theoretic analysis with machine learning models. Second, we develop a unified model, BPRLGT, that incorporates Network Formation Game into a Bayesian ranking framework for link recommendation. Specifically, BPRLGT takes advantage of network topology and we design a game theoretic sampling approach to improve its training process. The experiments are conducted on four real world datasets and the results on all datasets demonstrate that both our proposed three-phase method and the unified ranking model outperform the baseline methods. © 2015 ACM.
