Support Vector Machine(SVM)has become one of the traditional machine learning algorithms the most used in prediction and classification ***,its behavior strongly depends on some parameters,making tuning these parameters a sensitive step to maintain a good *** the other hand,and as any other classifier,the performance of SVM is also affected by the input set of features used to build the learning model,which makes the selection of relevant features an important task not only to preserve a good classification accuracy but also to reduce the dimensionality of *** this paper,the MRFO+SVM algorithm is introduced by investigating the recent manta ray foraging optimizer to fine-tune the SVM parameters and identify the optimal feature subset *** proposed approach is validated and compared with four SVM-based algorithms over eight benchmarking ***,it is applied to a disease Covid-19 *** experimental results show the high ability of the proposed algorithm to find the appropriate SVM’s parameters,and its acceptable performance to deal with feature selection problem.

Fog computing stands as a recent and significant technological advancement in the realm of computing technologies, addressing several limitations inherent in cloud computing and yielding diverse optimizations. As the demand for the payper-use model rises, dynamic workflow scheduling has emerged as a prominent trend for handling incoming workflow tasks. This paper shows a comparative analysis of three optimization algorithms - Genetic Algorithm(GA), Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO), and Grey Wolf Optimization(GWO) - with a focus on two crucial parameters: total cost and resource utilization. The study employs dynamic datasets to ensure the practicality and applicability of the results across various problem domains, ultimately contributing to their optimization. The findings of the comparative analysis are thoroughly examined and discussed in the results section. © 2024 IEEE.

This study combined content-based and collaborative filtering algorithms to create an all-inclusive movie recommendation system. In order to find trends and provide suggestions based on the tastes of comparable users, collaborative filtering analyzes user–item interaction data. Movie qualities are evaluated using content-based filtering in order to suggest related products. Preprocessing techniques like data cleansing, filtering, and text processing are used in the implementation to extract pertinent information and textual elements. While the textual characteristics are converted into numerical representations using methods like literal_eval and CountVectorizer, the metadata contains information on genres, release dates, cast, crew, and keywords. Using the vectorized characteristics of two videos, the cosine similarity between them is computed. Techniques for collaborative and content-based filtering are used to deliver accurate and customized. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, visual impairment poses significant challenges for approximately 17.5% of school-aged children, mainly due to refractive errors. These challenges extend to everyday navigation, environmental interaction, and overall life quality. Motivated by the desire to empower visually impaired individuals, who face navigational limitations, difficulties in object recognition, and inadequate assistance from traditional technologies, we propose SightAid. This innovative wearable vision system utilizes a deep learning-based framework, addressing the gaps left by current assistive solutions. Traditional methods, such as canes and GPS devices, often fail to meet the nuanced and dynamic needs of the visually impaired, especially in accurately identifying objects, understanding complex environments, and providing essential real-time feedback for independent navigation. SightAid comprises a seven-phase framework involving data collection, preprocessing, and training of a sophisticated deep neural network with multiple convolutional and fully connected layers. This system is integrated into smart glasses with augmented reality displays, enabling real-time object detection and recognition. Interaction with users is facilitated through audio or haptic feedback, informing them about the location and type of objects detected. A continuous learning mechanism, incorporating user feedback and new data, ensures the system's ongoing refinement and adaptability. For performance assessment, we utilized the MNIST dataset, and an Indoor Objects Detection dataset tailored for the visually impaired, featuring images of everyday objects crucial for safe indoor navigation. SightAid demonstrates remarkable performance with accuracy up to 0.9874, recall values between 0.98 and 0.99, F1-scores ranging from 0.98 to 0.99, and AUC-ROC values reaching as high as 0.9999. Wheat is the most important cereal crop,and its low production incurs import pressure on the *** fulfills a significant portion of the daily energy requirements of the human *** wheat disease is one of the major factors that result in low production and negatively affects the national ***,timely detection of wheat diseases is necessary for improving *** CNN-based architectures showed tremendous achievement in the image-based classification and prediction of crop ***,these models are computationally expensive and need a large amount of training *** this research,a light weighted modified CNN architecture is proposed that uses eight layers particularly,three convolutional layers,three SoftMax layers,and two flattened layers,to detect wheat diseases *** high-resolution images were collected from the fields in Azad Kashmir(Pakistan)and manually annotated by three human *** convolutional layers use 16,32,and 64 *** filter uses a 3×3 kernel *** strides for all convolutional layers are set to *** this research,three different variants of datasets are *** variants S1-70%:15%:15%,S2-75%:15%:10%,and S3-80%:10%:10%(train:validation:test)are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed *** extensive experiments revealed that the S3 performed better than S1 and S2 datasets with 93%*** experiment also concludes that a more extensive training set with high-resolution images can detect wheat diseases more accurately.

In the modern era of a growing population,it is arduous for humans to monitor every aspect of sports,events occurring around us,and scenarios or *** recognition of different types of sports and events has increasingly incorporated the use of machine learning and artificial *** research focuses on detecting and recognizing events in sequential photos characterized by several factors,including the size,location,and position of people’s body parts in those pictures,and the influence around those *** approaches utilized,here are feature descriptors such as MSER(Maximally Stable Extremal Regions),SIFT(Scale-Invariant Feature Transform),and DOF(degree of freedom)between the joint points are applied to the skeleton ***,for the same purposes,other features such as BRISK(Binary Robust Invariant Scalable Keypoints),ORB(Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF),and HOG(Histogram of Oriented Gradients)are applied on full body or *** integration of these techniques increases the discriminative nature of characteristics retrieved in the identification process of the event,hence improving the efficiency and reliability of the entire *** extracted features are passed to the early fusion and DBscan for feature fusion and *** deep belief,network is employed for *** results demonstrate a separate experiment’s detection average recognition rate of 87%in the HMDB51 video database and 89%in the YouTube database,showing a better perspective than the current methods in sports and event identification.

Early Detection of Cyber-Physical Attacks on Electric Vehicles Fast Charging Stations Using Wavelets and Deep Learning

Transportation electrification plays an important role in the operation of the smart grid through the integration of the electric vehicle fast charging stations (EVFCSs), which allows the electric vehicles to provide regulation services to the grid through the vehicle-to-grid (V2G) concept. However, such an integration makes smart grid assets prone to cyber vulnerability threats. In this paper, a cyber-physical attack detection approach is developed to early detect such attacks. The proposed approach combines the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and the convolution neural network (CNN) to provide an effective detection technique. The proposed detection approach has undergone rigorous testing that considered 420 realistic operational scenarios. Unlike in previous work, the proposed detection approach was found to be effective in automatically learning the salient features from the data as well as identifying the frequency bands that hold such features and using them in the classification process. Furthermore, this work investigated the cyber-attack detection accuracy using different time resolutions of smart meters. The results have shown that the proposed approach effectively detects cyber-physical attacks with an accuracy of 99.76% and a low computational time of 1.8 seconds. © 2024 IEEE.
