Geopolymer is a ceramic-like inorganic material synthesized at room temperature and is a potential sustainable replacement of Portland cement. In the present work, a comprehensive experimental program was designed to evaluate the relative importance of mix design factors controlling the strength of fly ash geopolymer mortar. Restrained factors, namely, temperature of curing;alkaline solution to fly ash (L/FA) ratio;sodium silicate to sodium hydroxide (SS/SH) ratio;sodium hydroxide molarity;and fly ash to sand (FA/Sand) ratio, and unrestrained factors, namely, H2O/Na2O;SiO2/Al2O3;SiO2/Na2O;and Al2O3/Na2O molar ratios, were considered for evaluation. Feature subset selection and multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS) techniques were used to determine the significance of these factors. Results show that temperature of curing is the most significant factor. FA/Sand and L/FA are found to affect compressive strength more significantly than sodium hydroxide molarity and SS/SH. Except for H2O/Na2O molar ratio, other molar ratios were observed to be very less significant. It is noted that mix design of geopolymer mortar should not be based on the molar ratios, instead mix design must be prepared by controlling the restrained factors. Accurate stock price prediction is a challenging yet crucial goal in finance, with significant implications for investment decisions and risk management. This paper presents a comprehensive review of machine learning techniques for stock price prediction, examining traditional methods such as regression and ensemble models, as well as advanced approaches that integrate sentiment analysis and textual data sources. With the emergence of powerful Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Llama and Gemini, we explore their potential for enhancing predictive accuracy using historical stock data. Key challenges are discussed, including data quality, model interpretability, and adapting to dynamic market conditions. Additionally, this paper proposes a trustworthy stock price prediction model based on LLMs enabling informed investment decision-making. Experimental results demonstrate that ChatGPT-4o model achieved a prediction accuracy of approximately 97%, which can be improved by tuning model parameters. Consequently, the paper highlights the potential of LLMs in improving stock price forecasting. © 2024 IEEE.

To extract important information from the document images, document layout analysis research has been carried out. Previous research analyzes document layouts only for specific document formats. This paper proposes a document layout analysis method that adopts pre-processing based on document image classification to analyze document layouts for various document formats. From the application examples, we have confirmed that the proposed method can correctly analyze document layout by using training models trained for each document format. Furthermore, to evaluate the usefulness of the proposed method, we have compared the F score of the proposed method for document layout analysis using a single training model covering various document formats and using a training model generated for each document format. This research presents a novel approach to stream-line the configuration of AUTOSAR (Automotive Open System Architecture) modules using Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based tools. Traditional methods of generating AUTOSAR-compliant ARXML files are time-consuming and require meticulous man-ual input, posing significant challenges for developers. In this study, an AI-driven methodology is introduced to address these challenges. By mapping English descriptions to YAML through a Python script and subsequently converting YAML to Autosar XML (ARXML), this approach conserves tokens and significantly accelerates the AI training process. The AI model, trained on a dataset of 12,000 samples and tested on 3,000 unseen inputs, achieved a 100% accuracy rate in converting descriptions. Additionally, a comprehensive configurator tool and a code generator were developed to facilitate seamless integration and deployment of the generated configurations. The proposed solution not only reduces manual effort but also increases reliability in AUTOSAR configuration, offering a practical tool for developers in the automotive software industry. © 2024 IEEE.

Fine-grained image classification (FGIC) is a challenging task due to small visual differences among inter-subcategories, but large intra-class variations. In this paper, we propose a fusion approach to address FGIC by combining global texture with local patch-based information. The first pipeline extracts deep features from various fixed-size non-overlapping patches and encodes features by sequential modeling using the long short-term memory (LSTM). Another path computes image-level textures at multiple scales using the local binary patterns (LBP). The advantages of both streams are integrated to represent an efficient feature vector for classification. The method is tested on six datasets (e.g., human faces, food-dishes, etc.) using four backbone CNNs. Our method has attained better classification accuracy over existing methods with notable margins. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Stress tolerance plays a vital role in ensuring the effectiveness of piezoresistive sensing films used in flexible pressure ***,existing methods for enhancing stress tolerance employ dome-shaped,wrinkle-shaped,and pyramidal-shaped microstructures in intricate molding and demolding processes,which introduce significant fabrication challenges and limit the sensing *** address these shortcomings,this paper presents periodic microslits in a sensing film made of multiwalled carbon nanotubes and polydimethylsiloxane to realize ultrahigh stress tolerance with a theoretical maximum of 2.477 MPa and a sensitivity of 18.092 kPa−*** periodic microslits permit extensive deformation under high pressure(e.g.,400 kPa)to widen the detection ***,the periodic microslits also enhance the sensitivity based on simultaneously exhibiting multiple synapses within the sensing interface and between the periodic sensing *** proposed solution is verified by experiments using sensors based on the microslit strategy for wind direction detection,robot movement sensing,and human health *** these experiments,vehicle load detection is achieved for ultrahigh pressure sensing under an ultrahigh pressure of over 400 kPa and a ratio of the contact area to the total area of 32.74%.The results indicate that the proposed microslit strategy can achieve ultrahigh stress tolerance while simplifying the fabrication complexity of preparing microstructure sensing films.

An Opportunistic Network (OppNet), as opposed to a ubiquitous centralized network, relies on sporadic and opportunistic encounters between nodes to facilitate communication. The uncertainty about the node's nature presents challenges when nodes with malicious intents are present in the network. One category of malicious nodes includes blackhole nodes, which receive messages but drop them intentionally. In this paper, we introduce a novel trust function designed to detect blackhole nodes within the network. Our function has been widely tested and simulated to validate and increase the efficacy of transmission of messages in the network. We have performed a comparative analysis with various protocols (PROPHET, Epidemic and Spray And Wait) on several parameters such as Delivery Ratio, Overhead Ratio and Number of Messages dropped. The results demonstrate that our trust function is able to correctly detect and avoid blackhole nodes. We observed significant improvement in delivery ratio in Epidemic Routing (47%), Prophet (41%), and Spray And Wait Routing (17%) protocols when adjusting blackhole nodes while keeping the total network nodes constant. © 2023 IEEE.

Visually impaired individuals face difficulties in public transportation, especially in recognizing bus numbers. Though existing image captioning method can provide some bus scene information via voice broadcasting, precisely recognizing bus number while analyzing complex scenes remains challenges. To overcome this bottleneck, we propose a novel Text based Depth-aware image Captioning network (TDCnet) that facilitates a deeper understanding of the spatial relationships and geometric configurations of objects within bus scenes. Specially, we first carefully construct a new real-world dataset of bus scene integrated with bus number of LED strobe effect, to ensure generality and representations in practice. Then, we incorporate the depth information into the object and optical character recognition (OCR) feature for exploiting the spatial geometric relationships and capturing high-level semantic information. Finally, the experimental results demonstrate the necessity of constructing the Buscap dataset by comparing it with the public Textcap dataset. Besides, the comparison with other competing benchmark models verifies the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed TDCnet method. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
