The automatic segmentation of tumours or lesions from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) pictures is a critical but difficult task in clinical settings, sometimes necessitating laborious and time-consuming techniques. Deep learning has made a significant advancement in the medical imaging field in recent years. U-Net has emerged as the predominant model used for segmenting medical images. Although the standard U-Net framework has shown excellent performance in segmenting multimodal medical pictures, it has been noticed that it lags in certain aspects when dealing with tough datasets. We propose specific improvements to the state-of-the-art U-Net model. We have introduced attention block in the skipped connections to highlight relevant features. Additionally, we have incorporated transformers in the encoding path to capture temporal dependencies in medical images. In this research work, we have introduced an innovative architecture that has the potential to replace the U-Net model for segmenting regions of interest (ROI) in medical images. This study utilizes a total of 1760 samples obtained from the ISBI 2015 and PH2 medical repositories. The experimental findings have demonstrated that our proposed model has obtained highly encouraging results of 78.02 Jaccard coefficient and IoU of 65.14. In addition, we conducted tests and compared the performance of the proposed model with the classical U-Net model using the same dataset. As a result, we observed a relative improvement in the performance of both 2.36 and 1.85, respectively. The proposed technology will function as a sophisticated toolkit for radiologists to precisely detect and diagnose anomalous tumour cells. © 2024 IEEE.

To transmit customer power data collected by smart meters(SMs)to utility companies,data must first be transmitted to the corresponding data aggregation point(DAP)of the *** number of DAPs installed and the installation location greatly impact the whole *** the traditional DAP placement algorithm,the number of DAPs must be set in advance,but determining the best number of DAPs is difficult,which undoubtedly reduces the overall performance of the ***,the excessive gap between the loads of different DAPs is also an important factor affecting the quality of the *** address the above problems,this paper proposes a DAP placement algorithm,APSSA,based on the improved affinity propagation(AP)algorithm and sparrow search(SSA)algorithm,which can select the appropriate number of DAPs to be installed and the corresponding installation locations according to the number of SMs and their distribution locations in different *** algorithm adds an allocation mechanism to optimize the subnetwork in the *** is evaluated under three different areas and compared with other DAP placement *** experimental results validated that the method in this paper can reduce the network cost,shorten the average transmission distance,and reduce the load gap.

Space/air communications have been envisioned as an essential part of the next-generation mobile communication networks for providing highquality global connectivity. However, the inherent broadcasting nature of wireless propagation environment and the broad coverage pose severe threats to the protection of private data. Emerging covert communications provides a promising solution to achieve robust communication security. Aiming at facilitating the practical implementation of covert communications in space/air networks, we present a tutorial overview of its potentials, scenarios, and key technologies. Specifically, first, the commonly used covertness constraint model, covert performance metrics, and potential application scenarios are briefly introduced. Then, several efficient methods that introduce uncertainty into the covert system are thoroughly summarized, followed by several critical enabling technologies, including joint resource allocation and deployment/trajectory design, multi-antenna and beamforming techniques, reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS), and artificial intelligence algorithms. Finally, we highlight some open issues for future investigation.

In the massive Machine-Type Communication (mMTC), the exponential growth of Internet of Things (IoT) devices over Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs) presents substantial issues regarding energy efficiency and stability. The existing frameworks frequently fails in the the intricate relationships among the MAC-layer and physical parameters. To enhanced cross-layer evaluation methodology that integrates adaptive data rate (ADR) optimization, real-time energy consumption monitoring, and dynamic downlink message handling to address the problems. To maintain stability and performance with the network situations, the framework makes use of a Control-Lyapunov function. To enable effective resource allocation uses the Successive Convex Approximation that improve the effects of various transmission systems under quasi-static and dynamic channel conditions. To verify the cross-layer interactions and it impacts the energy efficiency, the proposed method begins with the data collection and it moves to payload size and packet length, are regularly changed to examines the affect throughput and energy consumption. The findings show the high-density node situations, energy consumption that reduced while retaining reliable communication. Furthermore, the results show the interdependencies among network parameters, highlighting the necessity of an integrated strategy. This framework helps to ensure the mMTC scenarios that optimized by improving the long-term viability and dependability of IoT networks. © 2024 IEEE.

CVD continues to pose a substantial global health burden, demanding the need for the creation of precise predictive models that can aid in the timely identification and evaluation of risks. This research paper aims to provide a thorough examination of the prediction of CVD by utilizing CNN in aggregation with hyperparameter tuning techniques. This paper examines the effectiveness of three widely recognized CNN architectures, namely ResNet, VGGNet, and Xception CVD. The Tree-structured Parzen Estimator (TPE) is utilized as a method for tuning hyperparameters in order to optimize the CNN models. The study commences with a comprehensive examination of the dataset, encompassing a wide array of cardiovascular CT image data. The chosen CNN architectures serve as the fundamental framework for our predictive models. The selection of these architectures is based on their established track record in effectively addressing image analysis tasks and their capacity to accurately capture complex patterns and features present in medical images. The models undergo training using a dataset in order to acquire knowledge about distinctive features that are linked to various cardiovascular conditions. The experimental findings presented in the study indicate that the utilization of the Xception architecture, in aggregation with TPE for hyperparameter optimization, yields the most favorable predictive accuracy. Specifically, the achieved accuracy rate of 98.26% is notably remarkable. This result highlights the significance of not only choosing advanced CNN architectures but also optimizing their hyperparameters to fully exploit their potential in predicting cardiovascular disease. This establishes it as a promising tool for the early diagnosis and risk assessment of CVD. This study establishes a fundamental basis for future investigations in the advancement of precise and dependable predictive models applicable to various medical imaging contexts. © The Author(s), under exclusive license

The manual analysis of job resumes poses specific challenges, including the time-intensive process and the high likelihood of human error, emphasizing the need for automation in content-based recommendations. Recent advancements in deep learning, particularly Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for Multi-label Text Classification (MLTC), offer a promising solution for addressing these challenges through artificial intelligence. While CNN is renowned for its robust feature extraction capabilities, it faces specific challenges such as managing high-dimensional data and poor data interpretability. To address these limitations, this study employs the Fuzzy Discernibility Matrix (FDM) feature selection technique to determine the relevance of skills for each job vacancy. FDM assigns weights to the features of each job category and ranks their relevance based on the highest scores, which are then utilized in the MLTC CNN model. The integration of FDM and MLTC CNN serves as the foundation for generating content-based recommendations derived from key features in job resumes. This study produces a content-based job recommendation system that displays the top three job categories, accompanied by explanations of the skills supporting each selected category. These recommendations also consider cosine similarity values between analyzed items and the integrated results of FDM and MLTC CNN. The application of FDM for feature weighting has been proven to enhance multi-label text classification outcomes by providing better insights during the feature selection process. With a recall of 97.26%, precision of 94.81%, and accuracy of 98.58%, the MLTC model integrating FDM feature selection and CNN demonstrates robust performance characteristics in content-based job recommendation tasks. © 2025 Slovene Society Informatika. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have found extensive applications across various fields, significantly enhancing the convenience in our daily lives. Hence, an in-creasing number of researchers are directing their attention toward the performance of sensor nodes, with a particular emphasis on addressing the coverage challenges in WSNs. Node coverage plays a crucial role in determining the detection performance of WSNs, making it imperative to attain maximum coverage with a given number of sensor nodes. This paper applies the Tumbleweed Algorithm (TA) to the coverage problem in WSNs and validates its effectiveness through simulation experiments. The results demonstrate its unique advantages in global search and avoiding local optima, providing a new solution for the WSN coverage problem and offering valuable references for future research and practical applications. The TA algorithm simulates the lifecycle of tumbleweed from seedling to mature plant and includes the concept of growth cycles. This paper compares the TA algorithm with PSO, GWO, DE, BOA, SCA, and AOA, setting different numbers of wireless sensor nodes and varying sensing radii for the experiments. The experimental results show that the TA algorithm significantly improves coverage rates under various configurations and consistently outperforms other commonly used algorithms. © 2025, Taiwan Ubiquitous Information CO LTD. The diagnosis of Ovarian Tumor (OT) remains a significant challenge as there is presently no practical non-invasive technique to determine true benign or malignant lesions before treatment. This study proposes a unique Deformable Dual Graph Aggregation Transformer Convolutional Network (DeDGATCNet) with Spider Wasp Optimizer (SWO) for the classification of ovarian tumors acquired from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In contrast to traditional deep learning models, DeDGATCNet + SWO directly integrates bending graph-based forming transformer convolutional learning and improves representation for better classification. The SWO is combined to optimize the parameters of the network, thereby improving its performance. The procedures include pre-processing the MRI data from the study of ovarian tumor TCGA-OV datasets with an Adaptive Bilateral Texture Filter (ABTF) for removing artifacts and normalization of intensity, accompanied by a segment using a Masked-Attention Mask Transformer (MAMT). Feature extraction is achieved through a One-Dimensional Quaternion Discrete Fourier Transform (1D-QDFT), which captures features from both the spatial and frequency domains. DeDGATCNet + SWO performance is way ahead and sets a new accuracy record of 99.9% for state-of-the-art models. This research introduces a new type of hybridization between deformable graph transformers, quaternion-based spectral analysis, and nature-inspired optimization techniques, setting non-invasive OT at a new height for classification and improving early diagnosis. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

there are hundreds of kinds of plants on Earth, and many of them have medicinal or curative properties. Approximately 80% of the global population continues to rely on traditional medicine. In Ayurveda, the use of herbs as medicine dates back to Vedic times. Recognizable identification of the medicinal plants is crucial for the efficacy of ayurvedic, social, and homoeopathic treatments. For the treatment of skin conditions, lung infections, asthma, dyspepsia, and other ailments, many people throughout the globe rely on medicinal plants. One of the most important steps in making an Ayurvedic medicine is finding the right medicinal leaf. Misclassification or incorrect identification of medicinal leaves could affect Ayurveda's efficacy. Form, colour, and texture of leaves are the most basic characteristics that must be present to identify a medicinal plant. While the form and venation pattern of individual leaves might vary greatly, members of the same class of leaves tend to have commonalities. In light of this need, here is a model that makes use of an SVM Machine Learning Algorithm to reliably identify and categories medicinal leaves. © 2024 IEEE.
